Yeah, pretty good. The action centric episodes from last season were good too.
This new female terminator looks ridiculous though. Just how her face looks, and her accent. Can't take her serious as a Terminator.
So... the chick from the band Garbage is that liquid metal robot from T2.

Holy shit i scene that preview like 5 times and didnt even realize that was her.

Acutally watched some of this show and wow. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Remember when Terminator was amazing and not reduced to the lowly standards of Stargate or some shit?
Terminator 1 and 2 are classics and now without Cameron they're whoring it out and cranking out progressively worse material.
They were classic because of a focus on whats important.
Sure, Terminator 3 and this show are tolerable, but are they really good? I mean, considering they have access to the Terminator name and world, they should be better. They're passable action movies and tv shows now but it's crap. They're reduced to just mediocrity.
Terminator 2 3D at Universal is better at 15 minutes than the 3rd movie and the entire show combined.
The Mask
09-24-2008, 11:23 PM
terminator 3 is fucking abysmal. this show is a lot better, if not at nearly the same standard as the first two films. it's kind of annoying that there are about 700 terminators roaming around at any given time though. the show could be interesting without them.
Jeritron
09-25-2008, 01:25 PM
very few things are at the standard of Terminator 2. It's definitely one of the top sci fi movies of all time, and likely the top action film
The Mask
09-25-2008, 09:49 PM
yup. the terminator is just as good, only the effects of the day let it down. the story is probably even better.

bollocks. the terminator is the greatest love story of all time.
John Connor gave me a picture of you once. I didn't know why at the time. It was very old - torn, faded. You were young like you are now. You seemed just a little sad. I used to always wonder what you were thinking at that moment. I memorized every line, every curve. I came across time for you Sarah. I love you; I always have.
SERIOUSLY. plus arnie is the fucking man in it.

Punk Leader: Nice night for a walk, eh?
The Terminator: Nice night for a walk.
Punk: Wash day tomorrow? Nothing clean, right?
The Terminator: Nothing clean. Right.
COME ON. it is great. and you only have to suspend your disbelief a little bit, compared to fucking liquid robots and metal robots with liquid skin that have swiss army knives/flamethrowers for hands.
[the Terminator is loading a rifle in the shop]
Pawn Shop Clerk: You can't do that.
The Terminator: Wrong.
[shoots him]
plus there are the little bits you don't notice til you watch it about 15 times like me and RBF do:
Detective Vukovich: That guy Silberman cracks me up. Last week he had this guy in here who burned his Afgan, he screwed it first and then he set it on...
Lieutenant Traxler: Hey, shut up.
that and arnie's dick flapping in the breeze. you can see robert patricks nutsack in the second though.

Jeritron
09-26-2008, 03:45 PM
I have no clue. I just saw one preview and it looked lame. It's another Terminator movie, only this time by McG and with nobody from the originals involved.
I like Christian Bale, but that doesn't mean anything. Great actors are in terrible movies sometimes. They're called paychecks. See Clooney in Batman and Robin.

Terminator 2 toys were also fuckin epic. One of my favorites growing up.
That was in the glory days where it was okay to market R rated movies to kids without having to worry about militant moms on their period calling up and bitching
The Mask
09-26-2008, 10:13 PM
there didn't need to be a T3. not at all. i'm looking forward to the new ones but they're going to be completely different to the terminator films as we know them.
Jeritron
09-26-2008, 11:24 PM
Well there didn't need to be the T3 that there was. It was a huge step backwards. It was a simplified version of the T2 plot with worse characters and far inferior quality. It also didn't really do anything new with the exception of like 1 or 2 tiny new ideas.
A Cameron T3, which he announced several times, was supposedly (according to his interviews) supposed to be a merging of the Terminator style time travel/chase film with the Future War and what not. He called T23D, which is awesome, a stepping stone.
So, who knows, but it would have been fuckin epic. It also would have been a huge deal, and likely on a much bigger scale.
I'd have loved to see a Cameron written/directed T3 with Arnold, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, ILM and Stan Winston and a massive budget circa 2002 or 3.
There's also no reason why Bale couldn't have been a matured John Connor, so everyone could have their cake and eat it too.
It's one of those great sequels that never happened

Can someone sum up this series for me?
The Mask
04-14-2009, 04:51 PM
it's not really like the films. there isn't a big shootout every week, although the series suffered from bringing in random jobber terminators to get destroyed and help the story progress now and then. it's interesting though because there's a lot of development that you wouldn't get in the films, plus they are always kind of wary of the good terminator because she's a tad unstable.
it has its fair share of bible references, mixed in with childrens stories and so on. it takes a few episodes to get really into it, i can't say it gripped me from the first time i saw it but as you get into the story progression it's really cool. especially the transformations of cromartie, who has been there from the first episode.
from what i can gather though it sounds like fox are going to kill it off just as it gets awesome, which is really annoying.

TV's Terminator has been terminated.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will not be back for a third season in the U.S., according to EW.com.
A source tells the website, "It's done. Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks. Consider it cancelled."
The sci-fi drama, starring Summer Glau and Lena Headey, debuted to much acclaim in January, 2008. The second-season finale aired on Friday.

You didn't hear that story, huh?
Well, when CBS cancelled Jericho about a year or two ago, it pissed off the fan base. To the point where they sent a few tons of peanuts to CBS' front doorstep. Why peanuts I don't know. Probably something to do with the show. After that, CBS listened and gave the show another chance. Yet it got cancelled after a couple episodes due to low ratings.
