Seriously, I'm getting so fucking frustrated with X Box. Second time I've gotten the red ring in 2 and a half months.

Never. Had it just coming up on a year.

I'll qualify that with so far though.

It's the most frustrating thing ever. Especially in the middle of a game.

I have 2 360s and... never. One has an x-clamp and they're both launch Core models.

4 times, the 5th 360 I received I didn't even open the box and I traded it for a PS3.

I've owned three 360s, two of which got the RROD. I got new 360s for both, so no matter.

I think I have had it for a year and I never got red ring of death

I got it once a couple months ago after about 2 years.

Is the red ring of death thing a lifetime warranty? Like if I get the red ring 4 years from now can I still send it to get fixed for free?

Nah, just a 3 year warranty for RRoD. So if you get it 4 years from now you'll have to try and fix it yourself or find someone who can or just buy a new console. You could probably send it in to Microsoft but would have to pay for it.

This is my fifth. Ironically, I have had ZERO RRoDs. They got this one right, as far as I can tell, since it's now been months since I had to return one.

Yeah, I had four problems within a matter of months.

This new console seems to be blowing cooler air than the last ones, though. Could be my imagination, but I'm playing it longer and with less apparent heat buildup. Hope it's a good sign. Especially since Microsoft's customer service is the worst I've ever deal with. I'd rather sign in at a Klan rally with the last name Goldstein than deal with them again.

yeah they are a HUGE pain in the ass. I had to explain my problem over and over again. Like I'm the first person to ever have this problem.

Never. Of course my 360 is only 6 months old.

Never and hope I never do since I've no receipt or anything to prove when I bought it.

Bought my first April '07, crapped out on me July '08. Didn't Red Ring, but it was unplayable. Apparently I was out of warranty, so I just bought an Elite. SO glad I bought my PS3 first

yeah they are a HUGE pain in the ass. I had to explain my problem over and over again. Like I'm the first person to ever have this problem.

The first time I called in it was because I sometimes lost the picture altogether. I explained to the woman on the phone that I had intermittent loss of the video, and she'd walk me through this process to fix the problem. Then she'd say "so your problem is fixed?" Or something to that effect. And I'd tell her no, because the problem is intermittent and will come back in a few minutes. She totally did not get this. We went through this ten times. I used every synonym in my vocabulary. Eventually, I got to the point, but....

Never and hope I never do since I've no receipt or anything to prove when I bought it.

I don't know about Europe, but over here, they tie it to your serial number.
