What the hell? I thought they were holding him off tv to get his card shark gimmick tuned up for a debut. And then we get that crap on Raw. What's the deal here? Is this leading to an on-screen revamp a-la Goldust/Lance Storm, or is he about to be Dominoted?

I think he was only brought back in his greaser gimmick to re-establish who he was. I think the plan is for him to go on a losing streak until Priceless brings up his heritage to the public and Deuce joins. When he first moved to Raw, it was said that management was high on Deuce, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a sizable push in the stable.
In fact, once he changes gimmicks, it wouldn't surprise me to see Domino get temporarily brought back (still in his greaser gimmick but working the crowd as a face) to work a small program with Deuce Snuka to allow Deuce to get established. Apparently when he was released, guys like Batista and Punk sung Domino's praises, so that might just be enough to get him a "Charlie Haas return" to face his old partner. However, unlike Haas I don't think Domino would stick around after unless he got repackaged.

Yeah, that was the other thing; with no jacket and the longer hair, I had to stare at him to realise it wasn't Domino.
Also, 28 people read this between my first post and yours. Kudos on being the first guy with enough BALLS to respond.

you have issues, but I'm not telling you anything you don't already know

I always found Domino to be the more charismatic of the two. I think they dropped the wrong guy.

To answer your question, maybe WWE just wanted to justify continuing to pay Deuce while he re-vamps his character, and jobbing to Santino was the only thing Freddie Prinze Jr. could come up with.

I never saw him do the gimmick on Smackdown, to me he just screamed jobber.
Hard to imagine them getting anything out of him at this point. If he gets on board with the 2nd generation guys I guess he could have a chance, but its tough to imagine them jobbing him out like that and them hooking him up with a faction that is clearly being protected.

I don't think he would fit the second generation stable. He's too much of a nothing and his Islander role seems filled by Manu. Maybe Deuce will get repackaged, but I think it'll be a solo thing.
Domino being brought back would be cool. He apparently had good mic skills, and he was pretty athletic. Bringing him back with that "The Domino" gimmick could be pretty fun stuff.
