Shane Douglas, Rick Rude and Kurt Henning. Which isn't a good thing as none of those guys ever went on to be a main eventer in a good promotion.

Same thing with Kennedy.

what? Rude was the top heel in WCW in the early 90's. And he worked the Main Event program with Warrior in '90. And it's Curt Hennig

Wouldn't call them main eventers though. Probably should have been for Hennig and Rude. Douglas did fine in ECW too.

BigDaddyCool

ECW was never a big promotion, especially when Douglas was in it.

I would have said that Robert Roode is a rip-off JBL's gimmick but its your opinion!!!!

BigDaddyCool

I'm not talking about gimmicks, but you right, he is kinda like JBL. But his build and kinda bland style reminds me of those other 3.

Probably the robe, but some stuff he does reminds me of Tully

It is the whole get up. He is kinda just an average heavyweight that doesn't do anything particularly amazing, but is good in the ring.

Rhoode is amazing, and yeah Rude was a main eventer in a major company. Beat Flair for the title no less.

And it's Curt Hennig.

It is Mr. Douchebag for all I care.

Who the fuck is Rhoode? It is Rick Rude (or Rood) and Robert Roode. Nieghter have an H in their name.

Destor
09-24-2008, 03:08 PM
They do now.

Destor
09-24-2008, 03:08 PM
Rick Rhude and Robert Rhoode

BigDaddyCool
09-24-2008, 03:17 PM
So..do you um, pronounce the h?

BigDaddyCool
09-24-2008, 03:17 PM
Did they steal the H from Dusty and Code Rodes?

Destor
09-24-2008, 03:25 PM
What you think H's grow on trees? Had to steal it from some one.

BigDaddyCool
09-24-2008, 03:29 PM
Good, just making sure we still have Triple H, and not Single H.

Hanso Amore

I think they took it from HBK. With his current caveman look, not too many hearts are breaking.

Destor
09-24-2008, 04:36 PM
So he's BK now? Someone's gonna get sued...

Destor
09-24-2008, 04:36 PM
Or I guess he's BM really...and that's way worse...

Hanso Amore

ANyways, BDC you say this like a bad thing. I am sure most guys would die for that comparison or similar careers.

Destor

Very true.

BigDaddyCool

Henning and Roode are dead, and Douglas is dead to me. It is kind of a bad thing.

Hanso Amore
09-24-2008, 05:51 PM
SO because you think he looks and works like them, he is going to die in his sleep?

He reminds me of Scott Norton. Great worker, no personality.

Hanso Amore

Dont you ever talk about Scott Norton again.

Scott Norton is one of my three all time favorites. I will fucking kill you.

Hanso Amore

Scott Norton can make any tag team. Add him with anyone, let them do the talking, and him do the lifting. God, he could have been so big in WCW. Fucking Hogan ruining WCW until the NWO came around, and by that time he was in japan 90 percent of the time.

I cant think of anyone tjhat pinned Norton clean other than Goldberg in the WCW NWO years.

I didn't say he would die in his sleep...but I wouldn't be suprised.

The only thing that I connect between Roode & Hennig is their finishers... Though Roode & Rude are very similar, they both seem to have had a kind of legit toughguy charisma. And for some reason, I can see Roode doing a "Look out, he's gonna SNAP!" gimmick in the future, like what Scott Steiner was doing when he was winning titles in WCW. He would need a badass tap-out finisher for that though, something like a Stretch Muffler. Just imagine, Roode's having a match with somebody like Jay Lethal, and middle of the match, he just goes batshit & DEMOLISHES the guy's knee. That would be awesome.

Roode reminds me of that guy that tags with "Cowboy" James Storm.
I really dig James Storm more than anyone else on the TNA roster that hasn't worked for a major company.

Beer Money, Inc. are apparently pretty fucking awesome as a tag team. More power to them.

One thing to keep in mind is that it is much easier to win a World Title these days then it was in the time of the guys mentioned. Roode could very easily get it done.

Rick Rude and Curt Henning are two of the best, and most respected workers in the history of the industry, so no, I'd say it isn't a bad thing.

And just because Henning wasn't a main event heel, doesn't mean he wasn't good enough to be in that position.

Wasn't Curt Hennig like an AWA World Heavyweight Champion? Not sure the story there, but wasn't the AWA like a top promotion for a time? It's not like Hennig never won anything in his career.

Gertner
10-02-2008, 02:49 PM
Hennig was the champ in AWA at the start of its decline through no fault of his own. There was just nobody for him to fight

Oh, and Roode reminds me of Tully Blanchard.

oh and rude was the champ in WCCW

But on the WCCW dvd they say the title wasn't a major title in the industry. Now I'm sure for that area it would have been big, but it wasn't the NWA title.

I liked Shane in ECW. In wCw he was pretty much a joke.
