If this had airstrikes, it would be what mercenaries 2 should have been. Thats what its looking like right now. We'll see when I play it.

Got this shit. Fucking great so far. It's a lot more tactical than I thought it would be. Running and gunning is actally fairly risky, and it's better to plan things out beforehand.

It is an ubisoft game, afterall. Although it's not quite as strategic as their tom clancy games.

The AI should be mentioned here to. Much better than most open world gmes. Ususally if you are in a firefight, and you're losing, you can hop in a vehicle and drive away. I tried this, and a second later, bullets whizzed by from the truck they got into and started chasing me in. That brought a smile to my face.

Havn't tried multiplayer yet, but I did have a look at the map editor, and it looks pretty extensive, while still being user friendly.

Yeah, so first impression is that I love this game. But the nature of the combat may turn off people who are looking for a more run and gun experience.

Love it. Been playing the past couple days. I've heard a lot of people complaining about it, and I agree it could be better. But fuck if it isn't extremely fun. Was doing this one assassination mission, and I scouted the place out for a while. I was really getting into it without realizing it.. planning how I was going to do it, and how I'd make my escape. And then while I was taking people out from a distance with my sniper rifle, it starts getting windy. Right after I killed my target, it starts blowing like crazy. Well, I was around this lake, and so I started heading to the nearest safe house which I hadn't yet unlocked. Just as I get there, it starts storming like crazy.. rain, wind, the whole bit. Couldn't see past like 50 feet. Just stuff like that made me amazed.

The graphics aren't as impressive as Crysis, but they're definitely impressive in a different way. They did a great job making it feel like you're really in Africa. Yeah, it could have used some work.. I'm not really sure -what-.. but there's just something not all there.

Still.. great fun.

LOL.. just had the greatest thing happen. It's night, and I had just gotten away from this fucking huge group of guys in trucks.. I'm trekking through the jungle, and suddenly I come across a safe house I hadn't been to. Nice little waterfall off to the side, and I'm on the other side of the pond it empties into. Watching these two guys and planning which one to take out first.. and one of them kneels down to light a campfire. He lights it and starts walking away.. suddenly, the grass around the fire catches on fire and starts spreading. The guy freaks out and starts yelling about how they had a fire coming their way. That's when I shot the guy.. but still.. LOL at the idiot starting a grass fire.

People who have this game, talk about cool shit that's happened to you, or just stuff you thought was awesome or cool.

I love this game :love: Was doing this mission where I had to stop this convoy.. just a side mission. Night time again. So I'm waiting for this group of people.. I know exactly where they're coming from so I set up looking straight down the road. Snipe the first one through the windshield perfectly. Second guy hops into the drivers seat and takes off. He's going way too fast, but the second one is still a dead shot. Nail the gunner this time. They take off. They get away.. come speeding by the second time, I've set my Jeep up in the middle of the road. First car I take out before he ever gets there.. second one slams into the Jeep and I pick him off. Third one comes just as I throw a grenade into the pile of cars that's forming.. BOOM. Blows up the lot of them. Mission a success.

But shit, suddenly there's a grass fire and it starts spreading.. I'm kinda just like "Wow.. fucking sweet.." at this point, because trees are on fire.. grass is on fire.. vehicles are on fire. Suddenly I hear the sound of a car, and turn around just in time to see a Jeep peak the hill, headed straight towards me. Scope in, first shot nails him through the windshield. Just a grouping of intense moments.

Also.. freaks me the fuck out when I'm without a vehicle for whatever reason, and suddenly someone comes around a corner, sees me.. and I just hear the vehicle's engine rev like crazy cause the bastards are trying to run me over. Scared the shit out of me the first time it happened, because it was night time and I just had a sniper and a pistol on me. Mother fucker missed me, so I pulled out my machete and hacked him to death as he got out.

I plan on getting it. I hope you all still have it and don't trade it in once I get it because it looks like the multiplayer with the map-editor will be fun.

My only major complaint? Enemies respawn at their outposts way too quickly. Makes driving a pain sometimes. IMO they shouldn't respawn until you reload the game. There are enough people voicing this opinion where I could see ubisoft fixing it in an update tho.

Experienced the best non-scripted event in a game ever, today. Came upon an enemy encampment at night. Was going to take them out stealh-like, but observed that there was a road leading in and out, and several gas cans. So I decided to wait til day and do it Rambo-style.(under the right circumstances you CAN run-and gun, but you still have to plan the attack.)

Now the Jeeps with mounted turrets have a neat feature. You don't have to get out of the vehicle to switch from driving, to manning the turret. Press x and your guy will slide through the rail bars to man the gun, without the vehicle stopping.

So I came in fast with the Jeep, but not so fast that Icouldn't aim well with the gun. Just as I hit the camp, I slid onto the Gun and hit one of the gas cans, and it took two guys with it. Shot down the guy it didn't, then spun around and hit another gas can that blew up the truck the remaining two enemies were getting into, and then I slid back into the drivers seat before the Jeep had lost any momentum, and drove off.

This literally went down in like 3 seconds and it was FUCKING INCREDIBLE.

Also, I have opted to walk thru the jungle to my assignments. Takes longer, but I get to check out the scenery, avoid unwanted attention, and find diamonds. Wish there were more animals tho.

Yeah, multiplayer is pretty fun, and there are already quite a lot of quality maps.

I downloaded the game, so no such luckwith multiplayer. DS and I have been using hamachi to play together a little though and even with just two of us it has been really fun.

I actually find that I do more running around doing side missions and just exploring than I do actually doing the main story. I've only done 2 missions in the main story so far.. lol

The rest has been spent driving around.. getting some new guns by doing the arms dealer missions, and pretty much just doing missions as I come across them.

Too many fucking games.

Completed like 2 missions and played a little multiplayer, and havn't touched it since, cause I got Megaman 9, Fallout 3, and GHWT. And I havn't done much more in them because COD: WaW and Mirror's edge came out. And I still have to get Gears 2, Legendary, Resistance 2 and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm.

I'm fucked.
