WWE Raw 3-22-04

9:00 - Vince McMahon stands in his office announces that tonight will be a night of champions. All titles are vacant, the rosters will be rejoined and 4 championships will be decided tonight in a variety of matches including a 30 man battle royal to decide the WWE World Champion. The Raw video plays, pyro starts and we are under way with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler calling the action.

JR and King run down the rules for the first match as 8 cruiserweights make their way to the ring. It will be a 4 on 4, 1 fall to a finish match. The winning team then faces each other in a fatal 4-way match to decide the Cruiserweight champion.

Chavo Guerrero, Billy Kidman, Nunzio, and Ultimo Dragon vs. Rey Mysterio, Jamie Noble, Tajiri, and Paul London: Fast paced match that slows after about 7 minutes when Billy Kidman got a pin on Jamie Noble. Noble's team is eliminated and we go to commercial. When we come back, the 4-way has started.

9:16 - The first fall in the match occours when Billy Kidman pins Nunzio after a fisherman suplex. Chavo scores the second fall with a clean pin on Kidman, leaving Dragon and Chavo. After a back and forth match between the two, Chavo is able to score a tornado DDT and pick up the 1,2,3. Chavo Guerrero is the Cruiserweight Champion! He celebrates in the ring with Chavo Sr.

9:27 - Paul Heyman is seen walking into Vince's office. He asks about his job now that the rosters are rejoined and Vince tells him that he will make an announcement later on tonight regarding the situation.

9:29 - *Commercial*

9:33 - The ring is filling up for a Women's Title 6-Pack challenge featuring Trish, Nidia, Jazz, Molly, Lita, and Victoria. after about 5 minutes, while Trish and Nidia fight alone in the ring, Christian runs out of the crowd and give Nidia an unprettier allowing Trish to pick up the pin. Christian pulls her from the ring and walks with her down the isle.

9:39 - Vince McMahon is seen backstage getting coffee when Eric Bischoff walks up behind him. After giving out a few compliments, Bischoff tells Vince that whatever he decides tonight will be the right choice.

9:43 - *Commercial*

9:47 - "No Chance in Hell" plays as Vince McMahon walks out to the arena. He says he's given alot of thought to the GM situation but before he can make any announcement, Eric Bischoff comes out. He brings up all the good things he has done for Raw. Paul Heyman comes out and mentions all the good things he has done for Smackdown. McMahon then begins belittling Paul Heyman for ECW never being able compete with WWE and WCW. Therefore, he announces Eric Bichoff as the commissioner. Paul Heyman stares Vince down before calmly stepping out of the ring. Bischoff and Vince shake hands.

9:56 - *Commercial*

10:00 - Josh Matthews is seen outside catching up with Paul Heyman as he is getting in his limo. He asks Heyman how he feels about Vince's decision. After staring at Josh for a moment, Heyman just smiles and gets into the limo.

10:02 - JR and King announce that the next match, for the tag titles will be a tag team turmoil match. 2 teams will start. Whenever a team is elminated, a new team comes in to take their place. We start with Cade and Jindrak and Palumbo and Stamboli of the FBI.

After a short match, Garrison Cade is able to pin Stamboli with his feet on the ropes. Next team: La Resistance. After a few more minutes Jindrak gets the pin on Rene Dupree to advance again. Next team: World's Greatest Tag Team. *Commercial*. Shelton Benjamin is able to get the pin on Cade quickly after a superkick. Next team: Akio and Sakoda. The two teams battle it out for about 6 minutes until Benjamin pins Sakoda to continue in the match. Next team: The Bashams. WGTT make short work of the Bashams after Haas pins Doug in about a minute and a half. Last team: The Dudleys. The Dudleys control the match all the way through. In the end, Shelton Banjamin pulls something from his tights and hits D-Von with it while Charlie fights with Bubba outside. Shelton gets the pin and WGTT wins the Tag Titles. They run down the isle and celebrate as Bubba Ray tends to D-Von in the ring.

10:23 - *Commercial*

10:27 - As the superstars head to the ring for the World Title battle royal, JR and King announce that the Intercontinental Title will be decided this Thursday night on Smackdown in a match between the runner up and the 3rd place superstar in the battle royal. The 30 men in the battle royal are...

A-Train, Batista, Big Show, Billy Gunn, Booker T, Bradshaw, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Christian, Eddie Guerrero, Hardcore Holly, The Hurricane, John Cena, Kane, Lance Storm, Matt Hardy, Orlando Jordan, Randy Orton, Rhyno, Ric Flair, Rikishi, Rob Van Dam, Rosey, Scotty 2 Hotty, Shannon Moore, Shawn Michaels, Stevie Richards, Triple H, and Val Venis.

Just as the battle royal is getting underway, Edge's music starts! Edge runs into the ring and everyone starts brawling. We are under way. Eliminations: 1) Scotty 2 Hotty by Matt Hardy, 2) Hardcore Holly by Big Show, 3) Shannon Moore by Big Show, 4) Ric Flair by John Cena, 5) Billy Gunn by Big Show, 6) Rosey by Kane, 7) Kane by Hurricane. Kane climbs back into the ring and chokeslams The Hurricane. 8) Hurricane by Christian, 9) Matt Hardy by Lance Storm, 10) Bradshaw by Booker T, 11) A-Train by Val Venis 12) Booker T by RVD, 13) Christian by Chris Jericho 14) Stevie Richards by Orlando Jordan, 15) Shawn Michaels by Chris Benoit, 16) Lance Storm by Triple H, 17 +18) Big Show with a running clothesline, topples over the ropes and eliminates himself and Rikishi, 19) Randy Orton by John Cena, 20) John Cena by Triple H. Cena and Orton begin to fight each other on the outside. 21) Rhyno by Eddie Guerrero, 22) Orlando Jordan by Batista, 23) Cena breaks away from Orton and runs in the ring to eliminate Triple H, and then run through the crowd, 24) Eddie Guerrero by Chris Benoit, 25) Edge by Rob Van Dam, 26) Val Venis by Batista

Final Four: Batista, Benoit, Jericho, and RVD. Jericho and RVD fight in one corner, Batista and Benoit in another. Benoit is able to get Batista onto the top turnbuckle. As he tries to push him out, Jericho runs at Benoit and pushes him over the top! 27) Benoit is eliminated. RVD and Jericho team up on Batista but have trouble getting him out. RVD goes to the top to deliver the 5-Star but gets pushed out by Jericho!28) RVD is eliminated. Batista gets a second wind and goes on the attack. He beats Jericho down before hoisting him over his head and throwing him out. Jericho is able to hold on to the ropes and skin the cat! Batista turns and celebrates as Jericho delivers a dropkick, sending him over the top and winning the battle royal. Chris Jericho is the WWE Heavyweight Champion! He stands in the ring celebrating as Batista stares on from the top of the ramp and the scene fades to black.

The Opening To NWA-TNA Starts as The World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett is seen walking backstage with the Redshirt Secuity, We get a word with Jarrett who says, That he is going to get his match Cancelled with the Sandman...In Walks Trent Helms, the New Management in TNA, Helms says that if Jarrett keeps whining, He'll make Jarrett fight with both hands tied behind his back...Jarrett leaves, looking angered as the First Match is set to get underway.

"Primetime" Elix Skipper v. Johnny Swinger.
Pretty Fast paced match between the two, As Elix Controlled the opening minutes of the match, But Swinger, not to be out done, Slowed down the much faster Elix Skipper, Skipper was able to hit the Play of the Day on Swinger, but after a Distraction from Glenn Gilbert, Swinger rolled up Skipper and pulled the tights for the win. After the match, Gilbert and Swinger, attempted to add Insult to Injury, until Simon Diamond ran down for the Save.

We Cut Backstage where Father Mitchell is with CM Punk and Julio Dinero, Also Known as the Gathering, Mitchell talks about how tonight, CM Punk will kill two birds with One Stone, as he'll finally be able to rid TNA of Raven, While earning a Shot at The NWA-TNA Championship

The New Franchise (Michael Shane & Shane Douglas) v. American Most Wanted
Suprisingly, The New Franchised Dominated for the Most Part against the Former TNA Tag Team Champions, The Finish Came, after Tracy Brooks had the Referee Distracted, Douglas went to use the Chain on Storm, but misses and ends up accidently getting Superkicked by Shane, Which lead to the AMW Victory

Match Quality: 68

After the Match, Shane apoligized to Douglas for the mistake, Douglas nodded and was about the leave the ring, until he suckered punched Shane with the Chain....Tracy entered the ring to check on Michael Shane until Douglas pulled her up, She looked at him with fear in her eyes before she smiled and laid one right on Douglas, Douglas continued to pound Shane with the Steel Chain until AMW returned and put a stop to it.

Promo Was shown of the X-2 Match, which featured, Daniels, Low Ki, Sabin and Shane, The Announcers announced that the Low Ki/Sabin X-Division Title Match was Next!

X-Division Title Match
Chris Sabin (c) v. Low Ki
The Match started off, as you would expect with High Flying Action, Sabin made a mistake that nearly cost him the match as Low Ki locked in the Dragon Clutch, however Sabin escaped to the ropes, Low Ki continued to Dominate and had the match won after the Cartwheel Kick, But Sabin once again escaped, The Match continued to go back in forth, until Low Ki had the Dragon Clutch locked in the Center of the Ring, However, The Asylum erupted as Japanese Legend, Jushin "Thunder" Lyger ran down and got involved as the match was ruled a No-Contest, Low Ki and Lyger exchanged kicks, until Low Ki fell to a Lyger Bomb, Lyger leaves as we cut backstage.

Match Quality: 75 (Is A Little Shocked By That)

Abyss/Kid Kash v. BJ James/Ron Killings

Abyss dominated both members of 3 Live Cru, Until Kash tagged himself in, James took out Abyss with a Ropeflip Clothling, While Kash went for the Money Maker, Killings eventully hit the True Conviction For The Win

Match Quality: 69

4 Way Elimination Match for The Number One Contendership
CM Punk v. Raven v. Christoper Daniels v. A.J Styles

C.M Punk was able to Eliminate Raven, With Help from his partner Julio Dinero, And CM Punk ultimately got himself counted out when him and Dinero continue to Assult Raven to the Back, Daniels and Styles went back and Forth for Ten Minutes, Daniels even kicked out of the Styles Clash, But Styles finally got the Win after a Styles Clash from the 2nd Turnbuckle

Match Quality: 81

Backstage, The Gathering Continued to Lay into Raven, as Father Mitchell looked on, Just as Punk and Dinero was about to finish the Job, A Hooded Figure emerged and laid both of them out with a chair, the Hooded Figure then grabbed Mitchell, Before flipping off his hood to Reveal....Sean O'Haire!

O'Haire then lays a Challenge for Next Week, Raven and him v. The Gathering!

Main Event
NWA-TNA World Title Match.

Jarrett once again retained in about 6 minutes after Smashing the Guitar over Sandman head, However not without Sandman nailing some big spots on Jarrett, (Smashing The Cane over Jarrett Head, Hitting a Somersault off the Apron, Thru a Table)

Jarrett, was about to add insult to Injury, until A.J Styles Ran out and saved the Sandman, The show went off the Air with The Hardcore Icon and Styles Sharing a Few Beers as Styles Motioned that the NWA Title was coming home to him

Match Quality: 52....Yuck

WWE Smackdown! 3-25-04

8:00 - The Smackdown! video plays, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler call the action and run down the card which includes: Batista vs. RVD to decide the IC champion, Chavo vs. Hurricane for the Cruiserweight Title, Booker T and Edge vs. World's Greatest Tag Team for the Tag Titles, and new WWE Champion Chris Jericho with a special edition of the Highlight Reel.

8:02 - Rob Van Dam vs. Batista for the vacant Intercontinental Championship: Batista controls much of the match, using his strength to keep RVD grounded. RVD takes control and wins the match with a 5-Star Frog splash to become the new Intercontinental Champion! He celebrates as Batista rolls to the outside.

8:13 - *Commercial*

8:17 - Triple H makes an entrace. He is out to complain about the way he was eliminated from the battle royal on Raw while a clip of the already elminated John Cena comes in to take HHH out. Cena interupts him by poping up on the titan tron and hurling insults at HHH. Cena then comes out to the ring but is attacked by Flair and Orton from behind. With HHH, they gang up on Cena until HBK and Chris Benoit come out together to clear the ring and help Cena up. Evolution leaves looking furious.

8:24 - Chavo Guerrero with Chavo Sr. is interviewed backstage by Terri. He hypes his match with Hurricane. Al Snow then interviews The Hurricane who also builds up to the Cruiserweight Title match which is next.

8:28 - *Commercial*

8:32 - Chavo and Hurricane put on a great match with countless near falls. The match ends when the bell rings and Howard Finkle announces that the 15 minute time limit has expired. Hurricane and Chavo both look down at him confused. Chavo hits a quick cheap shot while Hurricane's back is turned, then leaves the ring quickly.

8:48 - *Commercial*

8:52 - Hurricane is seen walking into Eric Bischoff's office and asking what the deal was with the time expiring. Bischoff said that with the brands coming together, certain rules were put in place and on was a 15 minute time limit in Cruiserweight Title matches. He makes it clear though that Hurricane will get his rematch.

8:54 - RVD is seen backstage celebrating with most of the face roster. He hugs Booker T and Edge and tells them to go out there and give WGTT hell and win the tag titles.

8:57 - *Commercial*

9:01 - Booker T and Edge went back and forth with Benjamin and Haas. In the end, Rhyno runs out and gores Edge to the outside. Along with Haas and Benjamin, he attacks Booker T with a chair and then gores him through a table set up in the corner. EMTs come out to help Booker and put him on a stretcher as Paul Heyman comes out through the crowd and gets a microphone to introduce everyone to the Dangerous Alliance. He poses with Rhyno and WGTT.

9:17 - *Commercial*

9:21 - Rob Van Dam is seen backstage climbing into the back of the ambulance with Booker as he is loaded in.

9:23 - Cade and Jindrak vs. Stamboli and Palumbo: Cade and Jindrak get the win after Jindrak pins Stamboli. After the match, Cade and Jindrak play to the crowd.

9:31 - *Commercial*

9:35 - Matt Hardy comes out for his match with Christian (accompanied by Women's Champ. Trish). Late in the match, Lita runs out and brawls with Trish. This causes Christian to reach outside and pull Lita by her hair allowing Matt to pick up the 1-2-3. Christian and Trish stand in the ring as Lita and Matt leave separately.

9:46 - *Commercial*

9:50 - The "Highlight Reel" set is setup and Chris Jericho's music hits to a huge ovation. He gets in the ring and talks about winning the world title. Suddenly, Paul Heyman gets in the ring and congratulates Jericho before announcing him as the new member of the Dangerous Alliance! Jericho steps back, looking puzzled and then insults Heyman. Jericho grabs Heyman but out of nowhere comes Rhyno who delivers a gore to Jericho. Edge comes out to make the save but Haas and Benjamin come in and attack him and Jericho with Rhyno. RVD runs out and clears the ring of the Alliance before turning around and nailing Jericho with the IC Title! He then does the same to Edge and poses with Heyman and the Dangerous Alliance as the show fades to black!
