i'm trying to make this slideshow type presentation thing and i need to have music in the background. the movie maker will import mp3 files just fine but when i try to load the m4a files it tells me that i don't have the proper codec to do it. what do i need to get to make this thing work?

You have to convert the m4a into an mp3 or wav for it to be recognized.
Google around for a converter.
