-- WWE is still thinking about using Goldust as a regular character since they are short on wacky gimmick characters, not to mention that he surprisingly garnered nearly as many votes as Honky Tonk Man & "Rowdy" Roddy Piper for Cyber Sunday. Discussions have gone back-and-forth over the past week regarding using him. Head Raw writer Brian Gewirtz is a big advocate of Runnels as he's pushing for more comedy on Raw, and he thinks he can write good lines for him. Gewirtz also believes it's a good time for the lapsed WWE audience to see a familiar character from the past. Should Goldust get brought in, he'll pretty much be used in a way to put guys they're trying to elevate over as he's a credible opponent. Internally, there was said not be much support in bringing back Goldust, but the legit fan response greatly helped his cause in landing a job with WWE. There's also an interesting scenario WWE can eventually do with brother Cody Rhodes.

Okay everybody. Time to guess what the storyline would be between Goldust and his half (?) brother Cody. My guess is Cody being ashamed of his cross-dressing brother until Ted DiBiase starts dragging around Dustin like the end of Brokeback Mountain. Cody then goes out to defend his brother ending the undervalued Priceless Tag Team. Possible a Ted/Manu vs. Cody/Goldust PPV match.

I still remember....

...the time I brought this up a week before Cyber Sunday.

I didn't just unintentionally steal your storyline did I?

Nah. I'm sure it'll be a "You're a freak and you're not my brother" storyline. Priceless vs. Goldust.

Right now I would bounce him around on a couple shows in his full gear and have him pick up some wins over people, maybe a promo before some of the matches before he settled on Raw. He needs to pick up some steam again before his jobbing to Cody, or anybody else will really mean anything, and since he is a "legend" it doesn't really bury anybody if they lose to him.

There's no way I'd turn Cody to align with his brother for the simple fact that Goldust more than likely won't be around all that long (if history is any indication).

Although it'd make for a decent storyline what do you do with Cody afterwards? I think there's far more potential for the group of Orton, Rhodes, DiBiasie and Manu than there is for turning Cody.

So the guy with the least votes is brought back full time for having so many votes? How does that make sense?

Bring back Piper as a full time announcer.

Goldust getting nearly as many votes as Piper and Honky Tonk Man is impressive because Goldust has never been presented on the same level as Roddy Piper, or hadn't been brought up in storylines nearly as much as either man recently.

I'd personally rather go for the Cody Rhodes versus Goldust feud, rather than the Cody Rhodes and Goldust versus someone else one.

It absolutely has to be Cody vs. Goldust. Cody's heel run cannot be cut short this soon. Although, I would accept the notion of Goldust causing the Priceless breakup, even in keeping the three men heels.

I'd switch it around and have Goldust be "embarassed" by Cody. Goldust could still play the face...but with his warped sense of reality, it'd be pretty much in character.

I can imagine him playing mindgames actually.

GOLDUST: "Our father dressed in polka dotted singlets and was a big, loud, entertaining man. Your brother is the most sensational entertainer in the WWE: Goolllllldust... but you. What are you, Cody? Walking around in your bland blue tights, your kneepads around your shins like you're Ric Flair... you, Cody... you are nothing but a disgrace to this family."
