Several sites have been reporting that Christian Cage is "set to stay with TNA", and that "there was no talk of him actually having any intentions on going to WWE and that those rumors were inaccurate".
I'm hearing the opposite and that it is more than likely that Cage will end up back in WWE for one last run.
The current economy has not helped anyone with investments and it is very possible that Cage sees one last WWE run as the best way to solidify his family's financial security.
An additional rumor I'm hearing is that the Turning Point PPV or TV's that follow might be Christian Cage's last appearances for TNA, and that there may even be an angle in play that "says goodbye" to him tonight.

It wouldn't surprise me if Christian goes back to WWE. I know wrestling companies don't want to push people when their contracts are ending and they haven't signed a new one yet, but Christian hasn't been up to much in the past couple of months. WWE even did more with Christian when his contract was up and he made it official that he wasn't going to sign a new one.
Given that he lost last night and therefore has to join the Main Event Mafia I imagine his exit angle will involve him going along the lines of "I'd rather not be here at all than join the MEM".
No idea how WWE will bring him in though. Guess they could tie it in with the return of Edge.

TNa could have him exit in grand fashion. Just have the Main Event Mafia make an example of him and beat him so badly that he leaves and is not seen again.
Then, the TNA stars like AJ and Joe can use it as an example in their promos of how they need to take down the Main Event Mafia before they are all run out of TNA.

Guess they could tie it in with the return of Edge.
Edge vs. Christian vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy in next year's MitB would be -worthy
If it happens, he'll come back, probably be put in a feud with Edge for about three months then be lost in Midcard hell.

The Christian story is giving us a lot of headaches. Christian is a very quiet guy and doesn't tell anyone (even friends) where he's headed. We had this same problem when he left WWE for TNA several years ago. The latest word backstage at the PPV last night is that Christian will be heading back to WWE once his current TNA deal expires next month. TNA is still trying to work out a deal with him, but most backstage feel he won't be staying.
Pffffft, it always makes me laugh when he pretends he is a real reporter and that the wrestlers owe it to him to tell the truth.

This would explain why Edge is being held back, prob waiting on a decision from Christian on what he's going to do, can't blame him, everyone going to be going for the money option

I'm hoping Edge comes back as a face, but keeping the same character he had before. He goes after Vickie and she throws everyone she can at Edge, he beats them all, so Vickie brings in someone from Edge's past to take out Edge, cue Christian.

I'm telling you, if he comes back with Just Close Your Eyes as a theme. I'll forgive them.
Christian Cage for Royal Rumble 2009 Winner! That's my two cents.

Christian Cage for Royal Rumble 2009 Winner! That's my two cents.
And I thought they rig up Cyber Sunday so Christian would have one final match before he left.
If Cage does come back it may put Edge and creative in a hard place. Part of me wants me to see Edge get Cena treatment and have him come back at the Rumble and win it.
But hey, stranger things have happened.

I want to see Edge and Christian tagging, doing entertaining stuff, that's all, I don't care how.

Now that I think about it, Edge does seem like a good bet for the Rumble next year :o

There's a million possibilities. I think it would be best if they pushed him on an opposite brand from Edge first. Cash in off his big return first.
He's going to get cheered when he comes back. Let the fans get that out of their system and him having a welcome back face run (ie Jericho) is probably for the best. Then a heel turn can come shortly after.
That's when you involve him with Edge somehow. Whether it be a pairing, or a fued. If they fueded it would be a great title fued. As for them teaming as heels, they're both big stars now, so they're better as a two man force/stable than a tag team. Pretty much like DX.
I'd like to see them eventually have a main event fued with The Hardys on one of the brands
Don't get me wrong I am a mark for Cage but I wouldn't say he's a "big star". At least as far as the "WWE Universe" (God I hate that term) is concerned.
Yeah, coming from Upper Midcard in WWE to TNA makes you a "Big Star" in TNA but - bearing in mind that very few (or so it seems) WWE fans watch TNA - Christian has been 'dead' to them for 2 or 3 years now.
Mind you Jericho got a decent reaction on his return. Meh, I dunno. I just hope that they do him justice if he does go back to the E.

What I meant for "big star" was that he's not going to be the same level of star he was when Edge and Christian was last a unit.
They haven't tagged together since like 2002. With successful singles careers, it's obviously going to be a more powerhouse team.

So is he coming to WWE or not? I don't really keep up with the ragsheets anymore

I wouldn't be surprised if tey acted like he never left and just kept him in midcard hell.

Lets be honest, he's gonna be doing alright in WWE if and when he goes back there. He's not going to take the company by storm but he'll be in uppermidcard level as long as he's there and might even get some main event exposure.
He really wasn't used any better in TNA than he was in WWE. Especially not over the past two or so years. I don't know where this idea comes from that he's at the top of the food chain in TNA and was buried in WWE because both are wrong.
The only difference is WWE is WWE.

You just have to think about how WWE handled Christian leaving.
They didn't mention it on TV.
Just a brief article on WWE.com
So if you don't have the internet, Christian just vanished for you.
So how are they going to handle his return?
Probably just appear for a match with JR going 'look who's back' and that's it.

Christian will blatantly blatantly blatantly team with Edge and some other cunt. It's made for him, another stable and a shitty little shit shit title to go with him to appease him for a few months. Then he'll probably get sucked off by Layla and get mouth cockrot, and he'll beg for TNA to take him back once the MAIN EVENT MAFIA reaches its Hogan/Sting-like conclusion.

I fucking loved Christian. That massive coat. I wanted that cunt. He should align with Jericho and dominate RAW. Fuck Edge, been there done that.

Well for all that it's worth, considering what even Edge himself has said. The likely hood of them being in a storyline together could happen. I do think if Edge pushed for it, that he's earn enough pull to get it. If anything I'm sure they would be on the same show. I know it may not seem like the right move at first to have him on SD instead of RAW, but even with the SD push, their just seems like more room for him in the upper-mid/mainevent area.

Being so negative must do wonders for you IRL.
