I guess they wanted to take him off T.V for a while because they don't want him feuding with Taker anymore and HHH is in the midst of a 5 year run with the title

There's not much to do but have him fued with Taker still, which will result in too much burial, or fued him against HHH for the title, which they probably would like to save for Wrestlemania.
And like some have said, maybe the prospect of potentially acquiring Christian has made them wait a bit longer to see how that turns out before they rush him into a program

Was just thinking last night if he's the guy that's been suspended for marijuana use and maybe thats why hes been put off tv for longer?
Er, nah.
Edge said in an interview some weeks ago (probably a month or more now) that he gave himself the break as he was mentally burnt out.

Was a great read.

Personally? I think Edge just doesn't want to play 2nd fiddle to Triple H (can't blame the guy).
Before HHH arrived, Edge was the top heel and had Vickie backing him up (in more ways than one? :shifty:).
With HHH here however (and instantly being the world champ), I just don't think Edge wanted to be the guy to 'make Triple H look good' by jobbing. From what I understand, its been well documented that Edge has a major problem with Triple H's backstage pull...and has been outspoken about this.
Personally? I think the WWE might have Edge come back with a returning Christian.

But I recall Hunter was a suporter of Edge getting pushed.
As for his return. It would be stupid not have Edge get his revenge on Vickie. (though it is WWE...so...yeah) So I'm looking for Edge to show up and start attacking Show and his promos going on the lines of "His time in hell made him realise he could've been so much more...yad yad yah......Oh and I found him" Christian comes out. And Chavo will be given a huge beatdown.

With Edge's DVD set to come out the week of Christmas, expect to see him back at Survivor Series, or the SmackDown! just after to begin the shilling.

While part of me thinks this role would be very cool for Chavo Guerrero, I don't think it is nearly as likely as it would be with Edge in the same spot:
I'd love to see a heel return at Survivor Series during the Casket Match, and take out Big Show, allowing The Undertaker to win. I think Taker will be going over, because he's Taker, and because it's Survivor Series, which as the WWE likes to remind us, was the birth of The Dead Man.
Chavo makes sense, due to the abuse he has taken at the hands of Big Show and Vickie Guerrero, but Edge would also make sense, due to his relationship with Vickie Guerrero, and possible respect earned for The Undertaker after Hell in a Cell. Plus, I think it's time for a face Edge. It'd be an impactful moment, to say the least.
