I am going to say

Evans - Round 2 - TKO
Mir - Goes to Decision
Silva - Round 3

No way Nog/Mir goes to a decision.. Both of those guys are BJJ black belts.. Someone is gonna tap..

El Fangel

I think because they are BJJ Blackbelts, they would not get into a situation where they would tap, anyways just my opinion.

Can't see Nog losing to Mir in any circumstance.

Evans can KO Griffin and obviously out wrestle him. I'm taking Griffin to win but this is the closest of the 3 fights.

Rampage is gonna muller Silva. Welcome to the world of fighting huge world class 205lbs when you aren't on steroids Wanderlai.

Should have been RP but he never took the bet.

Like I said in the other thread, Nog looked shot. Total shell of his former self. Credit to Mir but I honestly think it was more Nog looking awful than Mir looking great. Mir vs. Lesnar II is a bigger fight anyway for business.

Rob
12-28-2008, 12:30 AM
Just you.

Rashad Evans has some serious power. I think Rampage would still murder him though. Hopefully they do that fight in 9 weeks in London since that show is lacking a main event big time and Rampage will probably be main eventing it regardless now.

Kongo takes a ball shot, returns the favor, then beats the dog shit out of Mustafa.

I was surprised by the outcome of Wand/'Page. But that's because I forgot that 1. Wand isn't as good as he used to be and 2. 'Page is better than he used to be.

Leg kicks are a bitch, right Emerson (do I have the right guy?)? Hamil is a fucking beast. And CB looked dominant using the GnP from the rear guard.

I didn't see Mir/Nogiera's finish coming. Neither did most people with common sense. Calling it now: Someone is gonna bitch about Herb Dean "stopping the fight early."

I told a friend of mine that Rashad Evans was bit by Arlovski. Sadly, I said Shad, and he thought I meant the guy from Cryme Tyme. I then explained that Evans had fangs. I felt Evans was gonna win. I knew it in the second round, when Forest's onslaught only got a "Suck my Dick" like reaction from 'Shad.

The Hardonk fight was kind of funny. I thought I was hearing Goldberg say "Hard-on was delivering repeated blows to the mouth."

Ol Dirty Dastard
12-28-2008, 01:43 AM
Rampage merked Wandy's shit though. Some definite retribution for those 2 kos. It was early and emphatic.

Calling it now: Someone is gonna bitch about Herb Dean "stopping the fight early."

You know, I'm sort of pissed about it... I'm torn honestly.. I do honestly think Herb Dean was quick to call it. I'm not saying Nog was going to get out of it, I'm just saying the ref should have given it a couple more seconds. I mean, Kongo and Evans pounded on their opponents when they were blatantly out of it a lot longer than Mir was on Nog, a guy known for being in that posistion.

With that said though, Mir figured Nog out, and he did have his number. He just kept rocking him and then making him stand back up, which was a brillant strategy...

Anybody else think Rampage pulled a dick move when punching Silva 3 times while the ref was holding him? The ref jumped in when Silva hit the ground and Rampage still went after him. Not complaining, great finish and I'm happy Rampage won, I just thought it was kind of dickish.

I think he got in 1 more punch but it's not that much of a big deal. You are told to fight until the ref stops it anyway. There were worse referee calls on the show than what Rampage did here.

well, considering that Congo DELIBERATELY Knee'd Al Turk in the groin and wasn't DQ'd may have something to do with it.

Reavant
12-29-2008, 12:32 AM
HAHA! wow! you realize the shit storm that kongo could have raised? Theres no way from the position they were in that you could prove that it was deliberate whether it was or not because it happens so much in that position and depending on the body type of you or your opponent theres no way it wont happen. Al Turk got kongo because kongo's legs are so long that he couldnt reach his stomach and kongo could argue that al turk was too close for him to get his knee up and didnt realize till he threw it. Mind you I think it was deliberate, but shut up dude if you dont know what your talking about.

Vastardikai
12-29-2008, 01:17 AM
I mean, the fact that it happens within 5 minutes of the first shot kind of makes it questionable. I am being a whiny cock for something that is easier to be a whiny cock about than bitching about an early stop for a guy who wasn't able to stand straight and had been rocked 2 times previous.

In the end, Maz made the right call in that situation. Warn them both to keep it clean.

Maz does have a track record for shit calls, though.

You can't prove intentions. I think it was purpose as well, but justifying DQing someone for the same thing that just happened to them in the same circumstance would require Johnny Cochrane. and he's dead if i'm not mistaken.

Why?

Since that 2nd fight, Rampage is 8-2 and was only stopped once. Silva is 5-6 and not has he lost 4 out of his last 5 fights, he was knocked the fuck out cold in 3 of those.

A win for him would have only hurt the division really.
