THQ Inc. and JAKKS Pacific, Inc. today announced that six World Wrestling Entertainment® luminaries will be featured on the cover of WWE Legends of WrestleMania. Renowned Superstars Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, along with vibrant managers Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart, will set the tone for the new videogame property, which is poised to deliver a distinguished roster, arcade style gameplay and historic, vintage presentation. WWE Legends of WrestleMania is scheduled for release in March 2009 to coincide with WrestleMania 25 in Houston, Texas.
“Andre, Hogan, Austin and The Rock represent the breadth of incredible talent that players can use to relive, rewrite or redefine history in WWE Legends of WrestleMania,” said Cory Ledesma, senior creative manager, THQ. “In addition, they will have access to dynamic managers, such as Heenan and Hart, who will play important roles throughout critical gameplay moments.”
WWE Legends of WrestleMania will embrace the leading sports entertainment organization’s rich history to relive, rewrite or redefine the definitive elements of WWE from the Eighties and Nineties. Players will experience the entertaining lives of 40 larger-than-life Legends and have control over Legendary Managers, each of whom will play crucial roles in match outcomes. The game’s new grapple-based fighting system will capture the high-energy action and drama seen in vintage WWE matches, while a historically accurate representation of past WWE telecasts will set the stage, including dynamic visual treatments, signature ring entrances, renowned commentators and notable venues. WWE Legends of WrestleMania will also include a WrestleMania Tour Mode that allows players to participate in key matches from multiple WrestleMania events, a Create-A-Legend system to develop the Legends of tomorrow, as well as online functionality for players to compete on the biggest stages in WWE history.
I will have more on WWE Legends of Wrestlemania shortly in the my first ever Mike Video update. Check for that later this evening.
Also sent from THQ was the official boxarts for the two platforms that Legends of Wrestlemania will be on, the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, check them out.

IMDB has the partial roster list for THQ’s upcoming Wrestling game.
IMDB is listing the partial roster for THQ’s upcoming wrestling game. While the article lists 35 legendary WWE Superstars it is missing a few. Including the just recently announced The Rock. Here is the list of Legends IMDB is reporting to be in the game. Now keep in mind that this list may very well be incorrect. And with THQ recently confirming the roster to have 40 playable legends there are still some surprises upcoming. Also note, that this lists some possible unplayable characters like the referee, commentators, and ring announcers.

If it plays like Smackdown, they can fuck off
If it plays like Smackdown, they can fuck off

Honestly, don't see why they'd build a whole new engine around this.

Tets it out?
I mean come on, Yukes made the DoR engine :(
I see this as more of a "gouge more money out of the fans" rather than a testing platform.
Would I love to see a new engine? Absolutely, the SmackDown! engine has gone three console generations and wore out its welcome about three games back. And I think this is the perfect opportunity. But I don't think we'll be seeing one until, at earliest, the end of this generation.

Yeah, and its a shame because a game like this would be awesome to make the Hart Foundation. Just like it would be cool to make the Kliq, but with Nash being in TNA, it'd just be one short.

Yeah I'd imagine so. But I'd imagine they'd need his permission to use his likeness in a game. Which I can't see it happening while he's with TNA. Which means unless they put Fake Diesel in the game, then I don't see him being in.
Kane in the game with his original attire and Fake Diesel as an alternate would be pretty lol

If you add up how many LEGENDS in Wrestlemania, wouldn't the entire roster be about 7 or 8 people?

I'm excited about the news that you can import wrestlers from SvR 09 into the game. That way HBK, HHH, Undertaker can be in plus Ric Flair if it turns out he won't make it like I've heard.

Legends of wrestlemania game and it doesnt have HBK, HHH OR Undertaker in it? i guess you gotta be retired to be considered a legend?
I really wish they'd expanded this to "Legends of Wrestling" or something (yeah, I know the title's taken) so they wouldn't be contained to one promotion.
If anything, I'd love to see them put out "Attitude Era" and include the big three from the 90s.

Well honestly, I think "Legends of Wrestlemania" is just more name only than anything. And a lot of those guys have either burned bridges with the company or are currently in TNA.
Unless they want to include Mean Mike Enos and Kenny Kaos in the game.
I mean Austin, Rock, Hogan, Flair, HBK, Hart, Taker, etc are going to be in the game already. And with the ability to import guys from Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 into the game, you can also have Hunter, Cena, Batista, Edge, Orton, Jericho, etc.
Oh and evidently Gamingring has a demo of the game and have stated that both The Ultimate Warrior and Yokozuna are in the game.

Want to know the real scoop on WWE Legends of Wrestlemania? Gamingring brings it to you.
Earlier this week, rumors regarding THQ’s upcoming WWE Legends of Wrestlemania video game had circulated the internets. Evidently videogame website PSXExtreme.com posted a preview of the game and in that preview let slip one tiny nugget of information. “For starters, you have a game backed by a proper license, allowing THQ to utilize every bit of WWE’s assets with ease. In total, 40 of the WWE’s greatest superstars and managers have been virtually cast for this Legends game, including Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Yokozuna, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Jerry Lawler, Ted Dibiase, Mr. Perfect, and many more.”
Here is what I can tell you based on what I know for fact about this game. The gameplay elements they discussed was based on the preview build that was shown behind closed doors at E3. I can also state based on a conversations I have had previously with my sources regarding Legends of Wrestlemania, much has changed since then gameplay wise.
In regards to the roster, I can also state that pretty much everything else is either fabricated and/or taken from the rampant internet speculation behind this game. So at this point, I would not be putting your Warrior Makeup and tassles out of the closet just yet to celebrate.
Look for much more from WWE Legends of Wrestlemania in the near future right here at Gamingring.com.

Sounds like it's a "dumbed down" Smackdown, didn't realise it was possible.
http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3172047&p=4
WrestleMania has several different nicknames: The Granddaddy of Them All, the Super Bowl of Wrestling, or as I like to call it, "that really expensive wrestling pay-per view." But regardless of which name you prefer, WrestleMania's by far the WWE's biggest annual event. To coincide with the spandex-filled extravaganza this year, publisher THQ's leading a new videogame grappler to the ring. Its new digital superstar, WWE Legends of WrestleMania (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3167695), is a simplified version of its franchise series SmackDown vs. Raw (http://www.1up.com/do/search?st=smackdown&submit.x=0&submit.y=0) that focuses solely on the iconic event itself. As not to double dip with SVR, all the matches in Legends will be from past WrestleManias. For instance, you might remember Hulk Hogan versus. Andre the Giant from WrestleMania III. Ring a bell? If not, stop reading this preview -- you obviously don't understand the appeal of underwear-wearing meatheads. For those of you who do remember this iconic match, would you like to relive it? Well, you better, because that's practically all you do in Legends. To make things interesting, though, you're given a variety of in-ring objectives that you must complete during each match. These objectives are mostly events that actually happened in the real-life match. For instance, in the Hogan/Andre match, you'll have to break the 500-pound giant's bear hug, just like Hogan did. While it's not necessary to complete every task during the match, you must complete enough to go on to the next match. Plus, doing so will give you points, and everyone likes points -- especially when they help you unlock stuff (though at this point, we're not sure what you can purchase).
<!-- start screen module --> <link href="http://www.1up.com/flat/Features/css/previews/preview_styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
http://www.1up.com/media?id=3664462&type=lg (http://www.1up.com/do/media?cId=3167695&sec=IMAGES) Click the image above to check out all WWE Legends of WrestleMania screens.
<!-- end screen module --> OK, you've beat Andre -- now what? Well, you have two other options (at the moment, at least): You can play the Rewrite or Redefine modes. Rewrite lets you do just that: rewrite history. That means instead of Hogan getting all the glory for pinning a heavy man with severe back problems, you can change history and let the giant squash the orange-skinned immortal. The Redefine mode lets you fiddle with the options. So, say, you want Hogan to face Andre in a Lawsuit with Vince McMahon on a Pole Match. Well, you can't -- that match doesn't exist. But if it did (or was an actual selectable match type), you'd successfully be "redefining" the match.
In an effort to appeal to the casual ring rats, THQ's making the controls for Legends super simple. Even simpler than SVR. That means all the cool stuff you'd expect from SVR (Ultimate Control Grapples, analog stick grappling, etc.) will sadly not appear in Legends. Instead, everything is mapped to the four face buttons. It's a little too early to see if this'll work or not, but we imagine seasoned SVR pros will probably miss the not-as-complex-as-THQ-thinks-they-are controls. But like the WrestleMania event itself, THQ's hoping to bring in a broader audience, so maybe it'll work. Or, maybe, it will last as long as a Mike Adamle's stay as Raw's General Manager. Let's hope for the former.
We'd tell you more, but Legends isn't ready to show off all its goods just yet. So far, we can only confirm the following Superstars (or "Entertainers," if you want to be politically correct by the WWE's standards): Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and the Rock. Small list, sure, but it's pretty obvious it'll balloon up once the game's ready for the ring in March 2009.

Kind of odd, seeing you can transfer SVR characters over. Perhaps you can chose between SvR controls or basic? And I hope this Wrestlemania main events thing is the 'story' mode, and you can still play exhibitions and stuff.

It reminds me of gran turismo hd and pgr4, in game they look nowhere near that smooth, but you can go to the replay mode in pgr and it automatically applies tons of anti aliasing to smooth out the jagged edges. Same with gran turismo hd in the replay mode.
They might be ingame but theyre not exactly representitive of ingame graphics because of the post processing filters added.

Well so far I can see one of the original WMs(pretty undefinable), WM9, and WM 15.
I should imagine there will be most of the WMs, considering any other PPV would be slightly out of place...

The arenas will probably just be the one arena redressed with different textures to simulate other arenas. Be nice if they actualy modelled the others but far as im aware thats how its done in smackdown vs raw as well. If they made them all different in size how they really are the entrance animations would have to be animated multiple times.

So that explains why the WM24 set wasn't outdoors in SD VS RAW 09.
Not really cos the unlockable Tribute to the Troops arena is outdoors.
Unless they specifically modelled the TttT arena. I'd have prefered them to do it with the Mania arena though.

Yeah but they couldn't make it look like the Citrus Bowl because they'd have to overhaul everything to make it that big. Like the WM 23 arena in SDVSRAW 08 is nothing like Ford Field, it's just a normal arena.
What Would Kevin Do?

Well... that's what I'd do...
[Mackem] Yeah not really sure if it is going to work with this first. Maybe see how it goes after a week and then unsticky them, I guess the VG forum mainly works under what is hot or not at the time. The band games are definitely hot at the moment but that would be an extra few threads and then with the major releases and hype threads you getting to almost a page of stickies. Dunno, we'll see. From IGN:
NYCC 09: WWE Legends of WrestleMania Progress Report
It's time to relive WrestleMania XV.
by Greg Miller
February 5, 2009 - Like it or not, there's something hypnotic about WWE Legends of WrestleMania. It seems whenever I'm playing this game and on comes one of the historical videos that precedes every Rewrite, Relive, and Redefine match, I'm immediately turned back into lil' Greg running around the house in his Hulk Hogan tank top or reminded of the Attitude era that defined my high school years.
Today was an Attitude day.
This weekend at New York Comic-Con, THQ is letting the pubic get its hands on WWE Legends of WrestleMania, and I was able to get a look at the game ahead of time. While the demo relies heavily on the famed Andre/Hogan match from WrestleMania III that you've read about before, the sneak peek also includes Stone Cold vs. The Rock from WrestleMania XV. If your professional wrestling education began with The Miz (you poor bastard), this was a main event that pitted good guy Austin challenging jerkface Rock for the WWE Championship.
Hell yeah!
When you jump into the WrestleMania Tour mode in Legends, you're going to have to choose whether you want to Relive (play a match as the person who originally won it), Rewrite (play a match as the person who originally lost it and try to change the Superstar's fate), or Redefine (play the match as whomever you want but have to deal with a modern stipulation such as a ladder) history. Aside from the fact that these matches are all packed together and you can only get to the next one by completing the one before it, this mode is quite a bit different than your standard exhibition match. No matter which history-defining choice you make, you're going to have a list of objectives that you need to complete to get points and build toward the event's gold medal. These objectives are the milestones of these WrestleMania matches -- it's stuff like Hogan slamming Andre and Stone Cold giving the Stunner to The Rock.
When you pick one of these bouts for the first time, the aforementioned compilation video plays and recaps the feud leading up to the match as well as what went down at WrestleMania and who walked away victorious. When I selected the Stone Cold/Rock match, the video loaded up and started with the Rattlesnake announcing "If you're ready for WrestleMania, give me a 'hell yeah!' " on Raw and took me for a trip down memory lane. I got to relive Stone Cold driving the beer truck down the aisle and spraying the McMahons with booze, Austin whipping The Rock into the XV sign at the big dance, and Stone Cold dropping the Stunner and walking away with the strap in Philadelphia, Pa. When the video was done, I was at the start screen where I could load up the match and/or check the event's specific objectives.
Never one to show its entire hand, THQ wasn't showing all of the match objectives, but what it did have listed made sense -- winning the opening chain battle gets you 20 points for "Slobber Knocker," you can bank another 20 points if you perform moves on the Spanish announce table until it breaks, and a simple taunt nets you an easy 10 points for "Sign Language." Now, if you want to, you can play through these matches and ignore the points because even a simple win will unlock the next WrestleMania match to take on. However, if you dedicate yourself to grabbing the set number of points, your medal will be displayed in the game's Hall of Fame and the progress will play into the game's Trophies/Achievements.
Once I got into the match, I found myself having fun. Last time I played Legends, I wrote a bit about being let down by the control scheme -- the game is designed to be accessible to anyone so you're only using the face buttons and joystick -- but things went a lot smoother this time thanks to a more polished build. When I delivered moves, Rock stayed down; when chain battles kicked up, the button I needed to press popped up in the center of the screen as clear as day; and the objectives actually enhanced the experience.
Yeah, that's going to hurt.
See, when I worked my way up the entrance aisle and to the XV sign, a button prompt popped up beneath the Rattlesnake's HUD. With a button press, the camera angle changed to a fixed cinematic point and I got to watch Stone Cold whip Rock into the metal structure. When I took the fight to the front of the Spanish announce table, it was another one-button hit and I got to watch Stone Cold roll The Rock onto the table, climb on the barricade, and drop an elbow from the structure. The two guys rolled off the table, and when Rock got back up, I did the same thing except that this time the table finally broke and I was awarded the points for "Brake'n the Furniture." Then, it was a quick walk to J.R. and Jerry "The King" Lawler where I grabbed a water bottle off the table by double-tapping a button and then watched as Stone Cold spit the drink all over the downed Rock.
The fight went on and I pulled off a Lou Thesz press while The Rock broke out his patented swinging neckbreaker. The fight looked good, was easy to control, and I had to dig Stone Cold celebrating with the world title -- although it was the old school WWF title and not the round one the Rock and Austin actually competed for. I'll need more time with the game before I made a final judgment, but WWE Legends of WrestleMania definitely has potential -- just ask all the non-wrestling fans who stopped in during my demo and talked about how they might have to pick this one up to see their former heroes in the ring again.
Want to know who all is going to be on the WWE Legends of WrestleMania roster? Tomorrow, IGN kicks off a video feature documenting each and every Superstar in the game -- it's even hosted by WWE Ring Announcer "The Fink" Howard Finkel. Be sure to check out the site tomorrow, Friday, February 6, 2009.

from that video above me, it seems like they only went up to WM15
Which makes sense, since everyone from 16-onward are either currently with WWE, not worthy of this game's title (no wrestler should be subjected to being included in this crock of shit game) or works for TNA.

In all honesty, the roster's kinda cool. I mean you can't go wrong with icons from a time where we were so enthralled with the product. Dare I say it's similar to SFHDRemix. Unlike that game, we're getting a bastardized gameplay mechanic that's comprised of QTEs up the ass. Then there's the whole Rewrite-Relive-Redefine laziness that really should insult the casual wrestling-game fan.
Other than all that, I'm actually down with 'Blue Blood' Hunter.

There are too many notable exceptions though...
Anderson without Blanchard?
Where are Demolition?
Obviously Savage, but we know all about that...
Sid? He did main event two Manias.
Snuka? Appeared at a few Manias, and was involved in the main event at the first one. In fact, same for Orndorff.
Is Tito Santana in this game? He appeared at 9 Manias (OK, one was a dark match, but still...)
THQ: Shit, we're out of guys to use, how can we pad the roster?
Triple H: :shifty:
THQ: ...Can we put in the hog pen match?

TBH I can see these being unlockable in-game anyway.
I'd like to see a whole host of alts though.
Like ministry Taker, possibly nWo or 'current' Hogan, 98 DX HBK, Corporate Bossman etc.
If I'm honest I'd like to see everyone with at least one alt attire. Legends of Wrestling, although a shoddy game, had 4 attires per character. That to me shows that its possible for them to look at a wrestlers history and pick out more than one attire.
Hell, if they struggle with some of them they could just pull a WWF Warzone/Attitude and make them up

hey i don't know if this was posted yet so don't flame but if anyone watched all the episodes on IGN then you'll see there is no "JIMMY SNUKA" but if you go on to the WWE site and click on "lengends of wrestlemania game" you'll see a "JIMMY SNUKA" picture amongst them. now what i was wondering is there more than what they shown for example hidden characters you got to unlock and if so it would seem he is one.
so could this be a mix up or did they mess up and accidently put "JIMMY SNUKA" there.
"JIMMY SNUKA" is in the game.
"JIMMY SNUKA" is indeed a legend.
"JIMMY SNUKA". "JIMMY SNUKA". "JIMMY SNUKA".

Could be either. TBH, I hope its a fuck up by WWE.com, because that would somewhat confirm that there are hidden characters that IGN don't want to reveal. I'd love to be able to get the game and start unlocking characters that I didn't know where in the game.

I like the idea of an arcade style wrestling game. I don't know how it's going to work out in this one.

IGN posted a video about the manager functionality. It doesn't look half bad. Jimmy Hart can distract your opponent with the megaphone, Bobby Heenan puts your leg on the bottom rope during a pin, Mr. Fuji trips your opponent with his cane, and Paul Bearer makes you indestructable with the urn.

So, is importing wrestlers from SDvsR 09 still gonna be in this, or was that some bullshit?
Don't think it's bullshit since they mention it in that video I posted, which was apparently someone from THQ. My bet is that it's only for a select few, though, because barring some kind of patch the info has to be on the disc and I'm pretty sure they're completely different graphically.

Its still in the game, but with certain wrestlers only. So you can pretty much guarantee that its gonna be the 'top tier' like Cena, Orton Batista etc, that have been designed to fit the new control system. Its highly unlikely that guys like MVP, Hawkins, Chavo or Festus are going to make it.

LOTS OF NEWS ON THE FORTHCOMING THQ WWE LEGENDS OF WRESTLEMANIA VIDEOGAME
by Chad Mosher @ 2009-03-03 10:44:17
I put together some news about the forthcoming WWE Legends of Wrestlemania game from THQ based on an online chat that was held last night with Paul Edwards from the design team.
*The control system is designed to be something of a mix between the old school arcade game style play and today's controls.
*There is no Playstation 2 version as they wanted to focus on the newer systems to keep their efforts focused on the highest quality game possible.
*There are no female characters in the game due to time constraints.
*There will be characters that fans can unlock via gameplay. They teased Howard Finkel.
*There will be 30 "Legends" in the game but you will be able to bring over the WWE roster and created characters you've put together from the most recent Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 game. The only exception will be characters that were later created for SVR2009 as downloadable additions.
*There will be Steel Cage and Ladder matches in the game. The cage will be the old school big blue cage. The game will also feature a Royal Rumble.
*There are video montages that WWE edited together for the "Wrestlemania tour mode" portion of the game, including some footage that WWE has never released on DVD before.
*Designers have recreated all of the venues and looks of the first 15 Wrestlemania events, minus the "WWF" logo, which they can't use for legal reasons.
*Like Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, you will be able to import custom music for your characters.
*Damien the snake and Frankie the bird pop up.
*All of the classic music will be used for Legends, as well as some new music for talents that didn't have music that was still available for the game.
*There will be no referee visible in the game as the look is meant to be a throwback to the early WWF Arcade Games and there were no referees in those.
*The hope is to make the game a yearly franchise like Smackdown vs. Raw but game sales will determine whether that happens.
*There will be multiple costumes for talents.
*The World Heavyweight, Million Dollar, Intercontinental, and Tag Team championships are included in the game.
*No Kim Chee with Kamala.
*You will be able to create stables in the game.
*There will only be four managers in the game and you will not be able to create managers on your own.

Right, just played about on the demo for abit and just a quick few opinion points:
- Like the presentation and look of the wrestlers, entrances are pretty good.
- Winning annimations are improved from last time, although they are pretty short
- Cant get my head around the controls, at all! I'm just too used to the smackdown controls
- What the FUCK is up with the finishers? Did the relive section with Austin, worked my way up to chain level 3 (?) and went for a Stunner, NOPE, Lou Thez, out of nowhere, then it skips to Austin's elbow drop then just teleported to Austin flipping of Rock and then delivering the Stunner. SERIOUSLY, WHAT?! Why not just have Stunner for level three, lou thez for two or rebound attack. Hogan's seemed to work though as his three punches (minus YOUUUUUUUUUUU) big boot and leg drop seemed to flow just right.
-Dont like the fact they have gone back to a life bar, rather than the body damage.
- Corporate Rock music
It doesn't seem too bad overall, just cant work out the controls, which at the moment, aren't doing it for me at all.
Tried it. It has nice presentation and for an arcade-style game it's okay, but there are a lot of problems with it.
Controls are confusing but playable.
Triple Naitch

Played the demo, it totally sucks.
Got the demo a few days ago. Played it once. Didn't enjoy. 2 of my mates though have been playing seperately and for quite a while and they both love it. One thing I have noticed that is pretty sweet is the re-creation of certain spots for some variety of achievements. Only time it's possible in the demo with the Austin/Rock match, but I noticed having to do 2 elbows through the announce table because at WMXV the table didn't break first time round, pretty much starting the match outside the ring, re-creating the finish etc. Be interesting/cool to see what the others are. Gonna look into renting it or picking it up cheap

Does anyone know if there are any storyline modes in the game?
I think re-writing Wrestlemanias would be more fun (and cheaper) to do with action figures than this crap.
lol. Been there, done that. When I was a boy, I would recreate the Wrestlemania VI main event all the time, and give Hogan the win over the Warrior. I think it'll be fun bringing out my inner-child, and playing Legends of Wrestlemania on my big HDTV, using a PS3. That's gonna be beyond rad.
I know some of you guys are not into the game, but I personally am really looking forward to it. You see, I don't watch today's wrestling at all, but I still appreciate the sport and get my wrestling fix from reading older wrestler's books. I love some of the stories they tell. I also love watching older wrestler's DVD's, as well as watching older matches.
In a way, I've become like an older wrestler because I love to reminisce about the old days with other old-school fans, and every now and then, I'll watch today's product, but then I won't watch it again for a long time, kinda like how sometimes an older wrestler will appear on Raw every now and then.
I still like to play wrestling games too, and I play the current ones, but I think I'd have more fun playing a game that has the older wrestlers. I tell ya something else, in all the games that have today's wrestlers in them, I always have the most fun when a storyline has a legend in it. I also usually just play the game using legends only. If a certain legend isn't already in the game, then I create them.
Having game that has nothing but legends in it is very ideal for me since it's full of the guys I grew up watching. I can finally have dream matches I always wanted to see, such as Hulk Hogan taking on Ric Flair at Wrestlemania, The Undertaker vs. Andre the Giant, Yokozuna vs. Andre the Giant, Roddy Piper vs. The Honky Tonk Man, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Million Dollar Man, etc. Another good thing is that I can also decide who will win those matches. :)
I doubt I'll bring over any SVR09 wrestlers overto the game. There will be no new-school guys allowed. :D Unless of course, I just wanna punish a few of them. Feeding John Cena, then Randy Orton to Andre the Giant would be fun.....

Can you guys go into detail about what sucks about the demo?
Whats bad about the gameplay?
What kind of grapple holds can you do?
How do you run? How do you grapple?
How do you perform moves? Button combo (Warzone) or grapple hold, move (S vs. R)
Does the movement feel slippery or stiff?
Whats the control like?
I've been reading magazine previews about it. They say its more arcade style. Just a health bar, a directional pad, and the four buttons to execute manouvers. Basic stuff.
And the games got Michael PS Hayes (?) and Hunter Hearst Helmsley. I know who PS Hayes, but when was he in Wrestlemania? And its Hunter Hearst Helmsley, not Triple H. Also, hes in his full snob gimmick. Marked out when I saw that. (Its in the video on the other post in the VG forum)

Now that does suck. I was hoping that if the player rewrites a match ending, there's actually scenes and such of characters reacting to it.
Rocky Legends is a favorite video game of mine, and one can re-write the story in that, and play through the point of view of Rocky's foes so the gamer can see where they are coming from. I was hoping Legends of Wrestlemania would be along the same lines.
I mean, I could rewrite the Wrestlemania VI main event match with Legends of Wrestling II on PS2. However, like I wrote before, the graphics and such on Legends of Wrestlemania look pretty nice, but I'll most likely just rent the game when I finally get a PS3.

If they didn't mess with the control system, then it would have been bareable.
If they used a tweaked SvR engine, maybe with a slightly less "sim" feel (less regen, etc), it would have been fabulous and an easy buy for me. The presentation is awesome and I hope they adapt parts of it into the SvR series.
The Rematch, Relive, Rewrite mode would be a nice little addition for SvR alone, as long as they didn't sacrifice a proper career/storyline mode for it.

Yeah, the roster might be great, but the game play mechanics are fucking awful. It's repetitive as hell, and you barely have any decent control of what you're doing. If you want to do a splash off the top rope and you have to throw someone into the corner first, there's a problem. If you want to get a weapon from the ring, and you can only doing it by grappling a person by the apron, there's a problem. This game is just... not good.

EGM was the best, not just for what they wrote, but their whole set up. 3 man reviews (4 man black in the day) with an aggregate score >>>>> 1 man review anyday.

I got this in the post this morning, and I've had a fair few hours play out of it.
So far, not alot negative to say about the game if I'm honest.
I transferred my SvR file across, and it seems they've been slightly cheeky. 'Import ALL of the superstars from SvR' is a bit of an exageration, if only a small one. Divas have been removed, for obvious reasons. So some superstars that have been released, such as Paul London and Big Daddy V.
Although one positive thing that goes with the SvR/CAW transfer is that they all come ready with a 'Legends' moveset. The finishers are as simple as a joined move that consists of the two signature moves and one of the finishers.
Example being, Legend Undertaker's finish will consist of a fairly fluent combo of his flying lariet, a big thrust to the throat, and a Tombstone. Where as SvR Undertaker's finish consists of Old School, a chokeslam, and the Tombstone.
The ladder matches and cage matches are pretty different from SvR. IMO neither better or worse, just different. For the first time I remember in a game, you can just walk out of the cage door. No superplex then crawl stuff. Just get your opponent down, walk towards the door, and button bash to get out. Mean while the opponent button bashes to get up, first one to do so wins the minigame. Same story with climbing out as well.
I haven't unlocked HIAC or played the rumble yet, so more on those later.
There are plenty of outfits to unlock. HBK, Taker, LOD, and a few others too.
There aren't any 'shadows' for unlockable characters, so I'm unsure if in fact there are any to unlock.
I'm currently doing the 'Relive' mode. So far I've done Bundy/Hogan, Andre/Hogan, Warrior/Hogan, Slaughter/Hogan and Austin/Bret. My next match being HBK/Austin, and the final match in the mode being Austin/Rock.
The further you get in the mode the more objectives you have to complete in order to 'pass' and get a gold medal. For example Hogan/Bundy only presents you with a basic 6, such as make Bundy bleed by whipping him into the cage, stop him from escaping twice, hit the legdrop, escape the cage. Where as Hart/Austin had about 10, which you have to complete about 8.
So my current verdict is that its definately an enjoyable game, if you can see past the fact that its not supposed to be based on 'technical wrestling' and wearing down body parts. It is what it is, a fun wrestling game. If you were a fan back in the day then I'd recommend it.
Needless to say, if anything its a nice refreshing change from the Smackdown series, which as we know barely changes from year to year.

So does importing SvR wrestlers cost?
