I think the idea is that you hear it 74 million times in a short period and you get tired of hearing it.

I have heard Disturbia - Rihanna like 6 times in 2 hours on the sports network during NFL highlights, not that its a good song but still.

Over the last few years, the Beatles have been covered so much it drives me crazy. There was like, ten songs. Better Cream than that. ;)

There are few songs that have been played enough towear me out on them. I still get a kick when I hear "Just what I needed."

The two Blondie songs they play all the time in like a billion commercials are among them, though. Not that I was a huge fan to begin with.
