Nothing special you need to do, just turn on your PS3 and go to Playstation Network and it should be there.

I've tried getting on, no hope. The network seems fucked.

I just managed to get on, created my person.

We should create a TPWW group.

Okay, this way more fun than it should be. There is something sadly hilarious about pixelated line dancing

k, I am bored now

I only use my PS3 for Blu Ray now. Should I even bother with this?

It's kind of like a huge chat room crossed with The Sims with PS3 graphics. It's worth checking out at least once just for the novelty

Tycho from PA just tore Home to shreds in their article today. I wish I had a PS3 to at least try it once, but if I wanted that kind of experience in a game, I'd just play an MMO. A free one even.

It's basically Habbo hotel but PS3 graphics.

They were a little harsh on it, but really, not by much. An open environment where you have to wait in line to play pool? If I wanted strangers to be pissed at me because I was taking forever to sink the eight ball, I'd go to a real bowling alley. The load times are kind of bad, too.

I wasn't exactly chewing at the bit on this one in the first place, but for all the hype, I expected a little more out of an "open beta."

The idea of it being a novelty is pretty accurate. It's cool being able to create a slightly more realistic avatar, but I wstill don't really feel all that inclined to use the home system.

The system is very much like life, and if you want that, you should probably venture out into the real world, where spontaneity and fun exist. This seems more like tedium. All they need is a "chore" system, with minigames like "painting your walls" and "vacuuming" to really seal the deal.

If they add more shit, it might be interesting. The Beta, however, is nothing more than a novelty.

I think that's the perfect summation really

Tried it last night. It's ok. Played some bowling and pool. They're having some server problems tho.

Had some time on my hands and gave this a go this morning. Pretty sweet for just a beta. Even if you only have a few places to go and items to purchase. With all the variety, looks like I gotta load up on PSN cash.

You're actually willing to pay money to tack on crap to it? Jeez.

I'm really just getting tired of full scale avatar systems, to be honest

I mean, aside from being able to use Adolf Hitler in Mario Kart, none of the console avatar setups have given me any enjoyment whatsoever and add nothing to the overall experience, even when they put Experience in the name.

Maybe there's a nuke to end the entire Home universe.

But...But...You can make your XBox avatar burp!

Maybe there's a nuke to end the entire Home universe.

Not sure if I'd pay for that. Unless it bricked the consoles of the people who think it's got merit.

Don't forget that awesome snow globe they had on NXE .

To be fair, the only one that is pissing me off is the 360 ones. You can avoid Miis and Home for the most part, but it's enforced on 360...

Kane Knight

You can completely avoid Home. That's about the only good thing about it.

Miis I don't remember being that avoidable, but since it's been months since I even had it hooked up....

Well you can just play games like Wii Sports with generic ones, I think. Yeah, it's been a while.

Can someone confirm if you can say 'hello' in Home on text chat? Someone told me it was censored, due to hell.

And I'd like to reiterate that with Miis, you can have posters of Hitler drinking coffee in your Mario Kart levels, or drive around as a poorly formed Mr. T

I think the important point is that this is the family console. :D

Installed this today. Spent a good 15 minutes just randomly running over to people and giving them a thumbs up. Then running away.
