I'm for it, honestly. It's not happening though. I mean, I prefer any heel champion to Cena. I'd actually prefer Orton to Cena. Maybe even Batista...well, maybe not.
Cena's holding that belt til he faces Batista at Mania methinks. And to be honest, in that scenario, I hope he keeps it.

JBL has slimmed down tremendously. I'm curious as to see what shape he's in, and how it alters him in the ring. I'd rather see HBK win the World Heavyweight Title, and then JBL asks for HBK to forfeit it over to him. Michaels does, because he's the Home Buyer Kid.

JBL's promos aren't as good as they were.

That's because the people writing them for him aren't as good as the ones before.

:y:
He is just using cheap heat now with the credit crunch
However a JBL win because of a Superkick to Cena via HBK would be all kinds of goodness

tbh I kind of do see JBL, HBK, and two others advancing to the Fatal 4 Way for #1 Contendership. JBL and HBK are the last two, and HBK lies down.
Cena/JBL seems like a nice quick WHW Title match fix that they seem to do at the Rumble most years.
That also frees up Orton and the Legacy to be in the Rumble. I'd like to see them act like a gang and just rule the ring at one point in the match.

JBL's promos aren't as good as they were.
They are still better than everybody elses.
KK will go on that he was a poor drawing champion, but it isn't the 80's anymore and people watch wrestling based on the entire show, not the main event match. The business was in a slump, and the champion was regardless. JBL get some of the best heat out of anyone and is entertaining. He worked solid matches a few years ago as champion with pretty much everybody, and I don't see why he can't do it again, if he is fitter.

It feels like it may be nearing MAKE OR BREAK time for JBL. In the last year, he's been used to put over just about every main event face on the roster. The only exception I can think of offhand is a victory against Jericho in a brawl at the Rumble(?) not sure if that was feud concluding, but he looked good.

JBL's promos aren't as good as they were.
I will attribute this to my point that he isn't winning matches like he once was. It's harder to make the crowd really rally against you if they know you're gonna lay down for Cena in eight minutes.

More like we watch it in spite of the main event. Unless you're really that excited to see Cena SPOILIN' for a fight.
JBL should never be champion again. Not even Divas champion. Nothing.

I do love that Joey Styles for World Champ campaign going on.
I see both JBL and Shawn Michaels advacing to the Fatal Four Way. Well, either both of them or neither of them, and they completely rush this storyline to a one-on-one match between the two. But assuming that they do both go into the match, I'd love to see JBL lie down for Shawn Michaels.
If I were JBL, I would not be looking forward to fighting John Cena again. I'd be making Shawn Michaels do it. Then, when Shawn wins the World Heavyweight Championship, I tell him to hand it over or lose his job.

It would make more sense to have it be an elimination style match and have the other person take out JBL. Then HBM takes out that person, then the rest. JBL is a proud man, after all. When's the last time he's taken a dive?

Just had an awesome thought to add onto that Noid. Say that happens, HBM is in the ring with JBL, JBL is about to "Buy" the title from HBM to keep his job or is offered a way out (JBL offers him a financially stable future) As HBM is about to hand the title over...
1) Have his wife come out on stage, say "Shawn, you dont have to do this" he replies "Yes I do" she replied back "Shawn no you dont, we just won the lottery" cue Shawn turning and delivering Sweet Chin Music.
Or better yet
2) Same scenario as above, howver as he is about to pass it over, he says John, can I have your attention for a minute.
Then show a video of the stock market where Shawn has purchased $250,000 of some stock that has gone like 100X value, maybe something like an investment in an offshore oil company or something.
He shows a video of him picking up JBL's cell while he is in the bathroom, shows called ID as Broker, shows Shawn saying "Yes, sell everything and invest in (a stock doing very badly) also while your at it purchase so and so a stock for Shawn Michaels"
Cue JBL using his cell to call his Broker, just when he gets an answer, have the ringback be Shawns Entrance music, then... SWEET CHIN MUSIC!
End it with Shawn offering JBL a job.
EPIC WIN!

Which adds to the awesomeness of it all. Add that onto a Joey Styles surprise return (John Cena-style) to win the Royal Rumble from the #30 position, letting that number win three times in a row, and you've got a pretty awesome WrestleMania XXV main event: Shawn Michaels vs. Joey Styles for the World Heavyweight Championship.
