from pwinsider.com:

If you missed seeing Hade Vansen's promo on Smackdown two weeks ago, there won't be a second chance. The character has already been dropped, according to several WWE sources.

The initial plan for the character was to put him into an angle with The Undertaker. Once his initial promo aired, Vince McMahon put a stop to the direction, deciding he didn't want a new talent from developmental put into a major angle before he was tested and could be trusted to carry the ball.

Vansen, as well as Kevin Fertig (aka Kevin Thorn) and developmental talent Black Pain were told at last week's TV taping their new characters and direction were being scrapped. Fertig and Pain were going to be associated with the Vansen character in some form.

The plan was to create a dark character with cult-esque overtones, similar to Christopher Daniels' Fallen Angel persona. Vansen is a British talent who was signed to a WWE developmental deal in May 2007. He missed most of the past year following a knee injury.

Who?

A Christopher Daniels rip off gimmick, basically another cult leader gimmick.

He is also another British wrestler if I remember.

How many of these failed supernatural gimmicks is Kevin Thorn going to be involved in until he pursues future endeavors? Hot Topic needs cashiers bro

Wow, what is Vansen doing in the WWE?

Found it reasonably interesting.

Maybe they'll have a look at it again down the line.

They really need to think things through before going through with gimmicks and scrapping them right away. It's almost embarassing to see a vignette for a character on one episode, just to never see it again.

Yup, no where near as good as Daniels. Also not to dispute his abilities but he's only 5ft 10 and 220lbs, how dose he plan to intimidate and beat the Undertaker?

Yup, no where near as good as Daniels. No where near as delicious as pizza and no where near as sharp as a knife.

Hade Vansen is a pretty respectable British talent, isn't he? I remember him working with Paul Burchill quite a lot, I think. I'm not going to start a "Hades" Vansen bandwagon, or anything, but this gimmick sounded half-way interesting, gave three talent something to do, and shouldn't have been put against The Undertaker right away, anyway.

It seems like such an unneccessary thing to scrap the storyline because you don't want Hade working with one talent right out the gate, specifically. But whatever.

Didn't strike me as a stand out wrestler although I can't remember much of his FWA stuff, maybe Dave Youell can fill us in.

I was kind of thinking the same thing.

I didn't word it properly, but having another go: So they don't want Vansen to work with Taker? Fine. He shouldn't be anyway. Why scrap the character, though? Why not have him work with...fuck, I don't know...R-Truth?

When he settles in, there is a ready made feud with Kizarny there, too.
