View Full Version : Yes Man
Is anyone going to see/interested in this?
It's based on a book by British author Danny Wallace where he basically spends a year saying 'yes' to every single question he is asked.
The book is absolutely hilarious. The film however stars Jim Carrey so it could be a big pile of shit on a stick.

Very very bland movie. One single joke where I did anything other than smirk mildly.

Jim Carry is the most unfunny person on the planet.
Jim Carrey is pretty good though.

I can't wait til they get to the part where he says yes to the penis enlargement supplies.

The one question I was thinking about this whole movie was how come there weren't more people exploiting these psychos. If that seminar were real, I'd be standing outside asking people to rob banks for me.
I can't wait til they get to the part where he says yes to the penis enlargement supplies.
Although this didn't happen in the book (to my recollection) he does "say yes" to an african prince who is having trouble getting his cash out of the country.
Think I'll end up passing on the movie tbh. Although I appreciate that they've only used the book to form a general idea rather than full adapting it I just don't think the film looks any good.
I do however implore you to buy/read the book cos it is truly funny.

So a co-worker say it over the holidays and she said it was really funny. Had her in tears of laughter even. I called bullshit. My opinion hasn't changed. Still no interest.
I do that sometimes as a practical joke, where I tell someone that a really unfunny movie was hysterically funny to the point that I was in tears. They then go see that unfunny movie.
I'll remind you again that the book is hilarious. Go read it Goddamnit!
