Vancouver Canucks defeat the high powered Los Angeles Kings
The Vancouver Canucks dug deep tonight, and defeated the high powered Los Angeles Kings. Matt Cooke scored the game winner in the 1st period, as the Canucks completely shut down the Kings.
Have the Canucks lost Bertuzzi? Yes. Do the canucks have Matt Cooke playing Bertuzzi's old role? YES! Matt Cooke will replace Bertuzzi, and will be the new muscle for the Naslund/Morrison line. With the recent return of Ed Jovanoski, combined with the fact that the canucks now have Sanderson and Rucinsky, the suspension of Bertuzzi seems to be an afterthought.
Tonight's performance has convinced me. The Canucks are for real. They really came together as a team tonight. Oh yeah - Cloutier's back as well. With the exception of Turco and Brodeur, I don't think any other goalie is more coveted than Cloutier at the current time.
Go Canucks!

The Canucks were still in mourning over the loss of Bertuzzi.
However - they are back on track. The Canucks completely embarrassed and annihalated the Kings with their stellar defense.
The Stars and Flames are not the dark horse in the West this year. The Vancouver Canucks are. :y:

The "so-called" hottest team in the Western Conference received a cum facial last night, as the high powered Vancouver Canucks dug deep and "came from behind" in an emotional 3-2 victory. Newcomer Geoff Sanderson tied the game in the 3rd period, while Brendan Morrison scored the OT winner.
The Bertuzzi incident seems like an after thought. The Canucks have been on a rapid tear of late, and are now closing in on the slumping Avalanche (only 1 point behind). The Stars are also only 1 point aHEAD of the canucks.

The Canucks are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, as they are about to extend their winning streak to 3 games. The latest victim of a Vancouver cum-facial, is the Phoenix Coyotes. As I type this, the game is still not over...........however, it is 5-0.
Any doubts of the Canucks "free falling" can be put to rest. Cooke has adequately replaced Bertuzzi on the team's top line. He can't score like Bertuzzi can, but he is proving to be just as 'tough' to contain for opposing defensemen. Cooke has been a wonder physical presence on the Naslund/Morrison line. Sanderson also continues to be impressive.
The canucks, with a win tonight, will move ahead of the Dallas Stars to reclaim 4th place. They will also stay pace with the Avalanche, who remain 1 point ahead.

The Vancouver Canucks once again showed their brilliance tonight, as they completely manhandled and embarrassed the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. 2-1.
The Canucks, now move into 3rd place in the Western Conference. The Canucks will most likely play the Calgary Flames in the 1st round. While the Canucks will most likely defeat the Flames, expect the Flames to put up a very respectable and commendable effort.

I wouldn't call 2-1 (against a non playoff team no less) an embarrassment, especially when Gerber made 40 saves.

Although I have to laugh at the Avs, no 10 year division winning streak for them (possibly) hahaha

i'm still worried about saturday's game against the oil who could be fighting for their playoff lives on that very day. then again the avs are playing nashville who are in the same situation as edmonton so it'll be an interesting day.

And Rafalski. Devils will be hardpressed to succeed without these players (unless Brodeur plays out of his ass).

The high powered San Jose Sharks succumbed to the Vancouver Canucks, as they lost 4-1. The canucks are now on a remarkable 5 game winning streak.....and are now the hottest team in the league. The Canucks will most likely play the Calgary Flames in the 1st round.

The Vancouver Canucks finished the season last night, by ending the Edmonton Oilers' season. The Canucks were too dominant for the alleged 'hottest team in the NHL' by trouncing them 5-2. The Canucks continue their "free fall" as the winning streak now extends to 6 games.
The Canucks will play the Calgary Flames in the 1st round, while the Avs and Stars will beat each other up.
The Flames are a tough team, and should give Vancouver a run for their money. If the Canucks play up to their potential however, don't expect this series to last long. The question is - will the canucks continue to play at this level? The Canucks are an inconsistent team at times, while the Flames almost always show up to play.

Calgary scares me and apart from vancouver they're my fav team so I really didn't want them to get matched up, but I really think this series is gonna go to 7 games... I hate that all the canadian teams end up getting matched together :@

I've got to admit, I enjoy reading Heyman's recaps after Canuck games. Really should consider a position as a sports reporter. I've never seen creative descriptions in papers like Heyman comes up with (e.g. cum-facials). Your the kick in the ass the news world needs!
