View Full Version : Hogan to put over Austin?

- Bubba asked if JR thought Hogan and Vince could make up and do something for WM 25. This began a long discussion about a Steve Austin vs. Hogan match at WM 25. JR said he didn’t think it would happen, but would like to see it. JR suggested a finish in which at the end of the match Miz & Morrison would run in, cause the double DQ, get beat down by Hogan and Austin, and then Hogan and Austin would drink a beer.
- Shortly after that Hogan called in. Hogan and JR exchanged pleasantries and then Hogan went on to tell JR that he didn’t like his proposed finish to the match. He said that a match of that magnitude and historical significance needed a definite finish for the fans. Hogan went on to say he would have no problem putting over Steve if the match took place.
Why do I doubt this? Oh yeah because Hogan doesn't put anyone over. Or unless Hogan thinks people jobbing to him is putting them over.

Yeah, he'd "put him over" the same way he put HBK over.

You've got to love Hogan using creative control on an imaginery finish.
Hogan's gonna bribe the referee and screw Austin out of victory...

I think Hogan is at the point in his life where he needs the money more than he needs his ego.
Albeit I wouldn't mind seeing The In Crowd beat the hell out of Hogan.
Hogan can actually be a little help to the E:
1. Let MVP get a clean win over him and end his losing streak.
2. Let Cena make him tap out the " Shut The Fuck Up " submission manuver to cement his legacy and be officially > than Hogan.
3. Let Hogan job to Funaki so that he can happily retire and go back to Japan.
4. Make him the official member of the Kiss My Ass club. That would be epic.
5. Let HBM retire him in a squash match.

^ If I had a mind control helmet I would make him do those things.
But my first thought after reading the title was "Wouldn't that be . . . stupid?"

Actually if Austin VS Hogan happened at Mania, I would put The Great One as Special Guest Referee, and The Rock Screws over Hogan... That would be classic.
If I had anyone to retire Hogan, these guys would be the following:
1: ORTON- It would do him greatly to him being one of the greatest of all time
2: CENA- So people will stop saying he is the NEXT HOGAN, it's time for him to be the first JOHN CENA.
3: JERICHO- He will be remembered because he has held the Intercontinental Championship more than anybody, but this would do great things for his career as well.
4: ANGLE- We have seen Hogan tap before, but nothing would be greater than to see it again, not to mention it meaning Hogan's retirement. This is for us Angle Marks.
5: EDGE- Why not Edge, he seems to be the TOP HEEL nowadays, the way of giving him more heat is by ending the career of the most remembered/ loved man in wrestling...(Well in the fans' eyes).

Hasn't ORTON already beat HOGAN. I vaguely remember them having a match at SUMMERSLAM a few years ago but I can't remember who WON.
Hogan won...he wanted to impress Brooke.

The only way Hogan would job is if it's in his actual contract for the match that he has to lose, seriously, that's the only way this match is ever going to happen.
Plus this whole thing is really one sided, Austin never says anything about having a match
2: CENA- So people will stop saying he is the NEXT HOGAN, it's time for him to be the first JOHN CENA.
How would "having the torch passed to him" by Hogan NOT be cemeting him as 'The Next Hogan'?

First ever undisputed champion? Beating Rock and Austin in one night? That was kind of a big deal.

The only way Hogan would ever put over Austin is if for the entire match, he was beating on Austin and Austin needed help to beat him.
And even then it'll be in such a way that Hogan also gets over.

JR's proposed finish is absolutely retarded, and that's coming from a Miz and Morrison mark.

I heard he does not want to put Hogan over. I really doubt Austin would agree to the match unless it is written in the contract that Hogan gets pinned.

It's admirable that he seems to be trying to get Morrison and The Miz over with it, but yeah. Not wise, Mr. Ross.

How is getting your ass kicked by a well expired Austin/Hogan combo going to get anybody over?

That shouldn't be a PPV finish, let alone a Wrestlemania finish. Maybe if that happened on a Raw and it led to a tag match at Wrestlemania, they could gain a little something from it.
