Alright well I seem to remember doing this exact same thread a few years ago, where we discuss the most overbooked matches we can think of.
My nomination is the same one I said the last time - the New Blood vs. Millionaire's Club battle royal from Thunder in 2000. For years, all I could find online on sites like DailyMotion and YouTube were the last 7 minutes of the match - but now - WWE.com has added the full 25-minute match to it's 24/7 online library. Anybody with access to it, I recommend watching it - I just did, and it's even more hilarious then I remember.
I don't think there has ever been another match with so many random, unexplained, pointless run-ins. Add in all the shit going on outside the ring after the match, and you have WrestleCrap at it's finest.
---
So yeah, post your own overbooked matches.

The whole Promo of TNA is over booked.
Can I go for TNA's 'Fight for the Right' tournament from 2006? Granted it's not one match but that emphasises the overbooking.
For those that don't recall/didn't see it...
Phase 1 - A 16 Man Reverse Battle Royale
1) The participants start on the outside of the ring and fight to get into it.
2) The first 8 in the ring then participate in a normal Battle Royale.
3)The final 2 then wrestle a standard match to determine a winner.
This however doesn't decide a winner per se but in fact decides seeding (e.g. the 1st eliminated is seeded 8th, the winner is seeded 1st) for the next stage.
Phase 2 - Knockout Tournament
The 1st seed fights the 8th, 2nd v 7th, 3rd v 6th, 4th v 5th in one-on-one single elimination matches. Sounds simple, right? Not quite.
The match between Sabin and Shelley (4th and 5th seeds) ended in a No Contest when Team 3D interefered, thus the spot in the second round was taken by...Christian Cage - who wasn't even involved in the first Phase!
And who did Christian fight in that Semi-Final? Not Junior Fatu who had progressed past Robert Roode in the previous round but Chris Harris...who also wasn't in Phase 1.
Anyways, this lead to a Final pitting Kaz v Christian...which ended in a DQ due to intereference.
"Phase 3"
A Ladder Match was then scheduled between the 2 to determine a winner. The match was won by Kaz - who, after all he'd go ne through to win the title shot, lost in a throwaway match on Impact!.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So convoluted and ultimately pointless. Why make Eric Young the Number 1 Seed if he's gonna get beaten in his first tournament match? Why have Cage or Harris drafted into the tournement and not any of the guys that were in Phase 1? Or better yet, why not have Sabin and Shelley bumped through to the Semi's as the 'drew'?

Yes, as a tournment, that was completely over/bad booked.

In fact, they didn't think it through at all. I don't see how over the top battle royals can determine #1 contenders for a singles title. The way one would wrestle in a battle royal and the way one would wrestle in a singles match are vastly different. So add in TNA usual shannagans, how could having a reverse battle royal really determine "seeds" in a tourny?

Tell me about this Battle Royal Vito.
If you want a full video of the match, you need to sign up with WWE.com Legacy...great deal, only $3.95 a month. They posted the full match today.
Anyway, it was from the Thunder before Slamboree. There was meant to be a 22-man battle royal (11 from each faction) with the winner getting a shot at the title at the Great American Bash. The members of the New Blood even brought weapons to the match.
After a few minutes...a shitload of other midcard heels ran out and got involved to help out the New Blood, effectively ballooning the number of people in the ring to around 40.
Tank Abbott came out and the announcers made a big deal about it. He too got into the ring and joined in randomly.
As people are getting eliminated, they are dragging out their opponents at the upcoming PPV and brawling up the rampway.
The Misfits in Action jumped in from the crowd and got involved to help the face side.
Even the women of WCW got involved, getting into the ring and tying it up with the men.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan's music hit and came out in his janitor outfit, he eliminated a few heels with his 2x4. Then he got eliminated himself.
A limo was seen backstage pulling up, with a figure getting out...it winds up being Macho Man Randy Savage, who runs in and takes out a few more heels.
There is one more run-in, this time Bret Hart...Bret comes in, hits Hogan with a chair, and leaves.
Flair ends up winning the battle royal, but despite this entire overbooked piece of shit of a match...he wound up not even getting his title shot.

Fuck, I barely remember that. It was the truly one of the weirdest matches I've seen on television. I mean, if there was a king of all clusterfucks, it would have been that match and he would have clearly earned his crown.
In fact, they didn't think it through at all. I don't see how over the top battle royals can determine #1 contenders for a singles title. By that logic, the Royal Rumble is a "poor way" to select a contender for the World Title at WrestleMania.

I remember this match without actually having to download it lol! Isn't this the one where Randy Savage was just "sledgehammering" everyone with his fists? The announcers were all like "RANDY SAVAGE IS BACK TO HELP THE MILLIONAIRES CLUB!!!" etc but then he was never seen again after that lol.
