Ah, before the days of the interwebs I'm sure most of us has done this. We'd turn the TV onto ppv just to listen in on the info, sometimes getting a discolored look at part of someone's face. Some of us has done this with porno before also. However, this is the wrestling fourm, and I will not talk abot the first time I spanked it to the audio of a porn when I was in highschool.

The rumble in '95 messed with my head.

When Davey Boy's music hit (5:17 mark in the video), I turned off the tv. I was pissed because I was really pulling for either Luger or HBK (first heel I ever really pulled for).
That day my older brother came home from a friend's house, and he told me how HBK won it.... I was pissed.

So anyone have any stories about watching scrambled ppvs?

I did this a bunch of times...but I think the one I remember the most was Wrestlemania 2000. The main event was a fatal four way between Triple H, The Rock, Foley, and Big Show with a McMahnon in every corner. All I remember hearing was JR screaming, "what the hell!" because Vince slammed The Rock in the head with a chair.

Good Times :)

I missed the days before Digital and you could tune in to it scrambled. I use to hook my tv up to the stereo and listen to it like radio shows. I don't have many moments I remember, but I remember Starcade 98 with Goldberg losing the title, I Quit Match between Mankind and The Rock at RR99.

I did that a few times. The only thing I remember from one tho is when The Rock smashed a steel chair over Ken Shamrocks head and JR saying, "Bah GAWD, Shamrock is asking for another!"

I know I did it a lot. Mostly back during the In Your House PPVs. As for anything I can recall. I was something about Sunny being in the ring, I think she was still with the Guns at the time. Other than that I can't remember.

My grandpa had the amazing little black box to de-scramble PPVs. It had a great run from WCW Fall Brawl 1998 (my first PPV) to WWF Judgment Day 2001. The box finally crapped out during the early stages of KOTR 2001.

I didn't really bother trying to listen to the scrambled PPVs because the audio rarely came in. One exception to this was the 2004 Rumble, which was awesome as I could at least hear everyone as they entered.

I never knew this was possible...I wish I had a T.V. that had done this. But no need now, I have satellite.

We had a cheater box growing up it was amazing. Got all the PPV Movies for free too. Also all wrestling PPVs, assuming my dad would let me watch them. I remember when we first got it, they were explaining it to me and hows its illegal. So we sat down and were watching a movie on PPV, it was about an ape who can do sign language, I thought it was called Koko.* Anyways, during the middle of the movie I started crying like crazy cause I thought we were all going to go to jail and was soo worried. Was pretty hilarious

*Note: couldn't find the name of the movie. But read up on Koko on wikipedia, found this pretty hilarious. Koko has been involved in a number of sexual harassment lawsuits.[10] At least three former female employees have claimed that they were pressured into showing their breasts to Koko. They alleged that Patterson encouraged the behavior, often interpreted Koko's signs as requests for nipple display, and let them know that their job would be in danger if they "did not indulge Koko's nipple fetish." Koko has been known to playfully grab both male and female nipples without warning or provocation. Patterson claims that Koko uses the word "nipple" to refer to humans.[11]

I remember watching/listening to Ultimate Warrior's return at Wrestlemania against Triple H on scrambled ppv. I think I also watched part or all of Undertaker vs Diesel.
