You are the head booker of the creative team. Vince McMahon has come to YOU, telling you that you had to put together, with the current roster, one of the biggest, if not, THE biggest WrestleMania of all time. Never mind the fact that you have to out-do III, XVII, XX, and X (VIII was good too), but with the current roster that you have now. You are able to use any wrestler in any brand at your disposal for matches/gimmicks. The event would consist of a minimum of 6 matches and a maximum of 9.

Stipulations:

-You can only choose one legend/former wrestler to appear as a guest referee/timekeeper/run-in.

-Every title has be used in the event

-Choose the best commentators for the main event

-You have to dictate the matches, the champion, the heel and the face

-Has to have at least ONE ladder match

This should be phat :y:

<font color=goldenrod>If there is a maximum of 9 matches and every title (of which there are 9) needs to be used...that pretty much means you HAVE to do one double-title match of some kind if you want to also do a MITB.

That rule wouldn't matter so much to me with how I'd book things...I have a pretty good idea of what the card would be - I'll do it later though as I'm about to go to work.</font>

For this to happen half of the roster needs to Heel Turn.

This is really hard. I think I've got a decent card then realise I've left someone off or I'm missed a title defence.

How so? I only count Cena, Matt Hardy, and Kennedy needing to turn heel. McCool is seemingly in the process of turning heel and Christian will almost certainly debut heel.

Money In The Bank: Kofi Kingston v Evan Bourne v Santino Marella v Chris Jericho v MVP v Mr Kennedy v The Brian Kendrick v Matt Hardy
I'd open the show with a bang using MitB. Usual MitB fare here. Big bumps, plenty of nearly theres with the briefcase. Jericho and Hardy both have their hands on tehe briefcase, both fall off either side of a ladder their falls broken by tables. The briefcase ends up in Jericho's hands. Jericho wins.

ECW Championship: Jack Swagger (c) v Tommy Dreamer
Playing to the "I will retire in July if I don't win the ECW Title" I'd have Dreamer win and retire anyway following the biggest win of his career. Dreamer Wins.

Steel Cage Grudge Match: Jeff Hardy v Christian
This is a grudge match due to the attacks on Jeff/costing him the title. I added the steel cage as I didn't want another straight one-on-one match on the card and could play into Jeff finally getting his hands on Christian (as Tomko/Edge have always been there to help him out). Jeff wins.

Championship Unification Match: Miz/Morrison (World Tag Team Champions) & Beth Pheonix (Women's Champ) v The Colons (WWE Tag Team Champions) & Maria (Diva's Champ) v Rhodes, DiBiase & Mickie James (Wildcard Entries)
Figured I'd lump all these championships into one match. I wanted to get Mickie James/The Leagcy on the card so I've had to go with a heel turn and "Wildcard Entry" scenario. Rhodes, DiBiase & Mickie James win.

Texas Street Fight: JBL v Shane McMahon
JBL - unhappy with things not going his way - buys up half of WWE's shares thus taking 50% control of the company (in kayfabe). Shane unhappy with the prospect of losing his inheritance challenges JBL to a match for full control. I think this match could be a hardcore classic with the hard-hitting JBL knocking the shit out of Shane O'Mac. Add in a big spot and have Shane go over. Shane wins.

Mr WrestleMania v WrestleMania Winning Streak: HBK v Taker
JBL forces HBK into the match as punishment for failing to help him win the belt at the Rumble. He justifies it by stating that HBK is Mr WrestleMania and thus HBK loves nothing more than to win on the grandest stage of them all, in order to virtually guarantee that HBK doesn't get a big win on the big show he arranges a match against the man that has never been beaten there. Either Taker wins keeping the streak alive or HBK loses Taker vanishes from the ring, never to be seen again.

Champions Showcase Match: Regal (IC Champ) v Finlay (US Champ)
These 2 aren't a good fit for the MitB match and as I have to have all titles defended I figured these two veterans could put on a stellar wrestling clinic. Regal Wins.

WWE Title: HHH v Edge (c)
Edge wins the belt at the Rumble with help from a returning Christian. HHH wins an Elimination Chamber at NWO to become Number One Contender. I'd guess HHH would win. HHH wins.

World Heavyweight Championship: Orton v Cena (c)
Orton wins the Rumble. Challenges Cena. A decent back and forth battle that sees both men take big spots (RKO/FU from the top rope) with Cena just edging it. CENA WINS!!

We close the show with ticker tape whilst the ENTIRE crowd chat Cena's name. Cena does the whole celebrate in the crowd thing before rolling back into the ring. He does the HBK-at-WM12-style on his knees bowed over clutching the title to his head.

Orton Punt.

BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!!

Jericho makes his way to the ring. He explains that whilst Cena is down and out he won't take advantage of him the way that previous MitB winners have because he is a wrestler and not a hypocrite. He allows Cena to get back to his feet but attacks immediately.

The two have another intense battle with close two counts for both men. Eventually Cena is locked in the Liontamer (like the one from Raw) and passes out.

Chris Jericho leaves WrestleMania 25 as the World Heavyweight Champion.

The "every title must be used" rule is stupid because that has NOT been the case in many, many years, which is why I am ignoring it.

THE MAIN EVENT OF THE DECADE
John Cena vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Build up:John Cena retains the World Title against JBL at the Royal Rumble as Shawn Michaels wins the Rumble in the same evening. The build-up begins the night after the Rumble, teasing the idea of a Cena versus HBK rematch at Mania 25, talking it up, etc, etc. Jericho defeats Cena for the World Title at NWO after some under handed tactics. The next night on RAW, Cena comes out and demands his rematch against Jericho, because the WrestleMania main event is where he belongs, and he got screwed.

The glass breaks and out comes "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. He says that since Cena doesn't have a match, and they're going to be in his home state of Texas, and damn, his neck feels pretty good, well why don't they have a main event of their own: Stone Cold versus John Cena. Cena at first says that he respects Austin, and there's nothing he wants less than to have to wrestle him in his first match in years, and beat him in front of his friends and family - he can't do it. Austin gets pissed at this and gives him a Stunner.

The build-up continues, with Cena still refusing the match until Monday March 2nd: RAW in Boston, Mass - Cena's home state. There, during the main event of Cena versus Jericho in a cage for the World Title, Austin interferes and beats him bloody in front of his family and friends, and then drinks beer to celebrate. The next RAW, Cena accepts the challenge and the match is set. The next few weeks would see them becoming more and more vicious toward each other, both acting as tweeners.

The Match: After a brilliantly paced back and forth contest with many near falls and a few big spots, John Cena locks Austin into the STFU and forces him to pass out. Cena celebrates his win as the Texas fans boo him into oblivion. Austin slowly regains consciousness (he's an "actor" now, remember) and stands to face Cena. He simply nods his head and then shakes his hand. They drink beer together, then Austin toasts him one and leaves the ring, allowing Cena to bask in the spotlight.

Wow, that took a lot out of me. I will finish the rest of the card later.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP "I QUIT" MATCH
Chris Jericho (C) vs. Shawn Michaels

Build-Up: HBK wins the Royal Rumble and whilst teasing his future match against World Champ John Cena, he also battles with JBL, who offers him a giant sum of money to sign the World Title match over to him. The RAW before No Way Out, HBK seems close to signing over the contract, and Cena tells him that he will not lose respect for him if he does. At No Way Out, Jericho cheats John Cena out of the World Title. The next night on RAW, HBK is doing a backstage interview when Jericho walks up to him with a huge grin and tells him to take the money and save himself the embarrassment of losing to him agayne. HBK superkicks JBL that night and tears up the contract. The build continues as HBK reveals that if he wins the World Title match at WrestleMania, he will get a victory pay-day and won't need financial help anymore from anyone, which puts that much more on the line for his victory.

It is decided by Vince McMahon that the match will be an "I Quit" Match, so that there can be no screwjobs, no bullshit, and the one who truly deserves the title will have to give every ounce of his strength to prove it.

The Match: After a brutal contest and lots of teases for an HBK tap-out, Shawn blocks a Jericho Sweet Chin Music and puts him into the Sharpshooter, forcing Jericho to tap out.

WWE & ECW CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLE LADDER MATCH
Matt Hardy (ECW C) & Jeff Hardy vs. Edge (WWE C) & Christian Cage

The Build-Up: At the Rumble, Christian returns to screw Jeff Hardy out of the WWE Title, helping his brother win the big one, re-uniting them and re-introducing him to television as a heel. Jeff enacts his rematch clause at No Way Out, refusing help from his brother, trying to be "his own man." Once again, with help from Christian, Jeff Hardy loses at No Way Out.

The following Smackdown, Matt makes a plea to Jeff to let him help him, arguing that they have been fighting those two jackasses since they got to the WWE almost 10 years ago - they can't do it alone and they know that. Jeff, still embracing his darker, more lonerish side, doesn't give him an answer. Matt Hardy defends the ECW Title against Christian on Smackdown and wins by DQ after Edge runs in. Jeff runs out and helps his brother and they chase off the WWE Champion and the challenger.

The next week, Matt and Jeff challenges them to a double title ladder match at WrestleMania: The Hardys against Edge and Christian: if they win, Jeff takes the WWE Title - if E&C win, Christian wins the ECW Title. They agree and the match is set.

The Match: After a match filled with innovative new high spots and some close calls, the Hardys win the match and celebrate with both titles in the ring, much in the fashion of Benoit and Eddie before them.

-Money in the Bank-
MVP/KOFI KINGSTON/BETH PHOENIX/PAUL BURCHILL/SCOTTY GOLDMAN/SHELTON BENJAMIN/SANTINO MARELLA/CHARLIE HAAS

Lots of big MITB spots. Beth is in there because I wanted to add something dynamic to the mix. I think she could handle herself. Plus, Santino can act like he doesn't care a bit about winning, he just wants to make sure nothing happens to his better half = some comedy. In a big shocker, Beth grabs the case & wins it after Santino crashes & burns through everybody.

Winner: Beth Phoenix

-ELIMINATION TAG-
MIZ & MORRISON (WORLD TAG CHAMPS) VS EDGE & CHRISTIAN (WWE TAG CHAMPS)
Miz & Morrison fight for their lives against the tag specialists, & end up on the winning end. Eliminations go:
Miz: Eliminated by a Spear-Unprettier combo.
Christian: Concussed/Injured due to Con-Chair-To miscommunication.
Morrison & Edge counter back & forth until Morrison hits a Moonlight Drive out of nowhere for the win. After the match, Miz jumps in the ring & celebrates like he just won the World Series singlehandedly. Morrison sells that he's pissed, but he gets jumped by Edge & gets a one-man Con-Chair-To. Miz gets out of there like a "scalded dog", leaving Morrison to be helped to the back.

Winners: John Morrison & The Miz

-Women's Champ vs Diva's Champ-
MICKIE(W) VSKELLY(D)
Leading up to the match, All signs point to a good-girl clean match. "I'm gonna do my best, & I hope we can be pals after the match too! You're really cool!" "Yeah, U2!". During the match Mickie SNAPS out of nowhere & it's the return of the Psycho Lesbian Stalker. Mickie wins with a brutal Mickie-D-T.

Winner: Mickie James

-Intercontinental Title-
TED DIBIASE JR(C) VS RANDY ORTON
Ted wins the title at a House Show, & in the weeks before Wrestlemania Orton starts bitching that he's not on the card. He looks at the standings, & & whaddaya know, his Legacy buddy is the IC champ. He figures that a lower-card title is better than no match at all, so he has a conference with the Legacy & plainly tells Ted that he should throw the match. Ted doesn't give him an answer, & when the match comes Ted suprises him with a quick roll-up. Orton has a fit, & a celebrating Ted Jr. gets laid out. This brings out Ted Sr. with a chair, but to the suprise of everybody who didn't see it coming, he KO's his son & stands tall with Orton. A new feud is sparked, & RKO gets a new manager.

Winner: Ted Dibiase Jr.

-United States Championship-
SHANE HELMS (C) VS BRIAN KENDRICK
Straight, fast-paced match that these 2 are capable of, Helms gets the win at around 15:00.

-ECW Championship-
TOMMY DREAMER (C) VS BIG SHOW - EXTREME RULES
Tommy Dreamer wins the title at No Way Out. During the match, Show gets led to the back & gets his ass handed to him by 4-5 ECW Originals. Tommy gets a win @ the big stage, & Show freaks out & throws a Monster Tantrumtm

Winner: Tommy Dreamer

-WWE Championship-
JEFF HARDY(C) VS MATT HARDY
Instead of having Jeff's current "Accident-Prone" storyline lead up to Christian's debut, it turns out that Matt was his brother's stalker from the beginning. The match itself is everything a longtime fan of the Hardys could wish for, with each scratching & clawing to prove that he's the dominant brother. Jeff reverses a Side Effect into a pinning combination for the hard-fought win. After the match, Jeff extends a hand, but after a long tease Matt slaps it away & extends a middle finger to send a message that he'll be back another day for the title.

Winner: Jeff Hardy

-THE STREAK-
UNDERTAKER VS HBK, JBL guest referee
Back & forth match, HBK hits all of his signatures, & Deadman hits all of his. JBL is his usual heelish self. End of the match, HBK hits the stiffest SCM he's ever done, & 'Takers out, Shades of HBK/Flair. Out of nowhere, JBL wallops Shawn with a Clothesline from Hell. It's a No Contest, with a massive program between HBK & Bradshaw.

Winner: NO CONTEST

-World Heavyweight Title-
JOHN CENA(C) VS CHRIS JERICHO
On TV, Jericho tells Cena that he doesn't need to take shortcuts to beat Cena, because he's just better. Match-Time, Cena & Jericho are Main-Event quality , 1/2 hour of near falls, brawling outside the ring & the norm for WM. To his word, Jericho plays the straight & narrow. At the end, Cena hits the Throwback for the pin & the successful defense. Jericho is to the back suprisingly quick. Cena celebrates in the ring, but out of nowhere Orton Punts him into the middle of next week. Cut to the Titantron, an unconscious Santino is laid out on the concrete. All of a sudden...

"NO CHANCE!!!"
Vince McMahon is making his way to the ring, & he's in full Mr. McMahon Asshole mode. He's with Jericho, & they're pulling Beth Phoenix along by both arms, looking like she's about to have a heart attack. She breaks away, but she doesn't make it past a retreating Randy Orton. Chairshot into the middle of next week for Beth, & Orton does an exaggerated bow to Vince & Y2J from the ramp. Jericho grabs Lillian.

"Mr. Jericho has just informed me that this contest is for... Beth Phoenix's Money in the Bank Briefcase!"

Beth is rolled into the ring, and Jericho promptly pins her. Without missing a step, he pops up & vaults onto an unmoving Cena with a perfect Lionsault. Almost immediately, Vince is in the ring counting the 3. "RING THE DAMN BELL!!!". Jericho has sold himself to Mr. McMahon as a backup & Wrestlemania 25 goes off the air with a shot of the tainted World Champion raising arms with The Devil Himself.

01-15-2009, 07:29 PM
Heyman's Card:

1) Sunday Night Heat: A battle Royale takes place to determine who will be the new ECW champion. Any wrestler from any brand can take part. In the end, Mike Knox throws out Chavo Guerrero to become the NEW ECW Champion.

New ECW Champion: Mike Knox.

2) Tag Team titles: Rhodes/Dibiase w/Smith vs. Cryme Tyme vs. Miz/Morrison:

Rhodes and Dibiase pull of the victory due to Smith interference.

Winner and STILL tag team champions: Rhodes and Dibiase.

3) MITB Elimination Chamber Match: Randy Orton vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. R-Truth vs. John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Vladimir Kozlov

Unlike in previous years', this year's MITB match is an Elimination Chamber match. In the end however, Randy Orton emerges victorious...to become the MITB winner.

MITB winner: Randy Orton

4) United States Title: MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin

Leading up to this match, MVP is now on a huge winning streak and is now cockier than ever. Fans are very mixed in this contest as they are actually getting behind MVP's winning ways. MVP goes over cleanly in the end.

Winner and STILL United States Champion: MVP

5) Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels:

After the Royal Rumble, where JBL failed to defeat John Cena to win the title, JBL blamed HBK for his loss. As punishment, JBL ordered HBK to challenge his friend HHH to a match at Wrestlemania. JBL also ordered HBK to "plan" attacks on HHH. Hesitatingly, HHH agreed to the match.

At Wrestlemania, the two men put on a classic.....with Triple H winning in the end. After the match, Triple H extends his hand....and says it doesn't have to be like this. HBK embraces Triple H. JBL then comes out and yells at HBK. HBK then hits sweet chin music on JBL. Triple H then picks up a fallen JBL and pedigress him. HBK and HHH then do crotch chops to signify that DX are still teh friends!

Winner: Triple H

6) Intercontinental Title: Santino Marella vs. Rey Mysterio

An entertaining match that sees Rey Mysterio defeat Santino Marella to become the new IC champion. During this match, Santino gets the bulk of the cheers from the crowd. The crowd is almost disappointed by the fact that Rey wins.

Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Rey Mysterio

7) Women's Match: Beth Phoenix vs. Trish Stratus

Leading up to Wrestlemania, Beth Phoenix makes it known that she has beaten all of the competition....and that she now what to face the supposed best of all-time. Beth challenges Trish to a one-time match. If Beth wins, Trish must admit that Beth is the greatest female wrestler of all-time after the match. If Trish wins however, Beth must say it.

In the end, Trish Stratus wins due to a Santino Marella screw up. After the match, Beth begrudingly grabs the mic and is forced (as par regulations) that Trish is the best. Beth then 'low blows' Santino and beats him up (signifying the end of their relationship).

Winner: Trish Stratus

8) ECW Rules match: Rob Van Dam vs. CM Punk

After the No Way Out PPV, CM Punk issued an open challenge to the greatest ECW legend of all-time.....Rob Van Dam. CM Punk challenged RVD just for the purposes of "stealing the show" at the grandest stage of them all. Van Dam accepts the one-time challenge.

It was a great match but in the end, CM Punk finally gets the victory. After the match, the two men shake hands and raise each others hands to a cheering crowd.

Winner: CM Punk

9) Match: Undertaker & The Great Kali vs. Kane, Big Show, and Umaga

All the hosses get put in one match (while not only allowing Taker to keep his Wrestlemania streak alive, but to put all of the crappy hosses into one match). The "finishing move" in this match is Taker and Khali triple chokeslamming Kane, Big Show, and Umaga (i.e. both men have a hand on Show's throat, and both men have another hand on the other guy).

Winner: Undertaker & Great Kali

10) World Title ladder match: Jeff Hardy vs. Christian vs. Edge vs. Matt Hardy.

At first, everyone assumed that Edge was behind all of the attacks on Jeff Hardy...but they were wrong. When Christian debuted....people assumed that it was him....but they were wrong. As it turned out, the real perpetrator behind the whole thing was none other than Matt Hardy...who had become insanely jealous of his brother's success. In the end, a 4 man ladder match for the World title takes place. To add to this rivalry, there is absolutely no love loss between Edge and Christian....as they still do not like each other.

At Wrestlemania, Jeff Hardy pushes Matt off the ladder and ends up retaining the title:

Winner and STILL world champion: Jeff Hardy.

11) WWE title: John Cena vs. The Rock (special guest referee: Stone Cold Steve Austin)

At the Royal Rumble, the 30th man to enter the Royal Rumble was none other than...........THE ROCK! (omg!) The Rock and Chris Jericho are the last two men left in the rumble and The Rock knocks him out.

The next night on RAW, Jericho complains that it was unfair of The Rock to compete since he's longer under contract, etc. John Cena then comes out and talks about how HE won the Rumble a year earlier doing the same thing and gives props to The Rock. Cena then tells Jericho to stop acting like a bitch.

Stephanie comes out and annouces that although Jericho is correct (i.e. Rock not being under contract), the fact of the matter is that the winner DOES get a chance to be at Mana. Therefore - there must be a "tie breaker". At No Way Out, Jericho must face The Rock........with Cena as the guest referee.

No Way Out: The Rock defeats Jericho. After the match, The Rock and Cena have the classic "staredown."

After No Way Out, it is annouced that Austin will be the guest referee at Mania.

At Wrestlemania, Cena and Rock face off. The Rock is getting HUUUGE cheers while Cena is getting booed out of the bulding. The two men go at it for about 20 minutes straight. At one point however, both men get knocked down.

All of a sudden, Randy Orton's music hits! Orton and Team Legacy comes out as does Vince McMahon. Vince annouces that Orton is cashing in his money of the bank.....RIGHT NOW.

The match is now a triple threat......right in the middle of the match! Team Legacy start taking cheap shots at Cena and The Rock. Austin then gets involved and stuns Smith, Dibiase, and Rhodes.....and they get sent to the back.

In the ring, a furious triple threat match ensues. Cena seems to be getting the better of the two men...but then accidently bumps into Austin. Austin gets pissed and stuns Cena. The Rock catches an off-guard Orton with a Rock Bottom!

1.....2........3!!!!!!

Winnner and NEW WWE Champion: The Rock!

Austin and The Rock then have a staredown......but then Austin shakes The Rock's hand and the two men have beers together.

(Finish: Cryme Tyme over for the crowd. Drop the belts at a later date to DiBiase/Rhodes)

(Hall Of Famers on the stage. Intros, wave and leave)

3. Match for Freedom - JBL vs. Shawn Michaels

(History: Michaels accidently costs JBL title at Royal Rumble. JBL treats Michaels like a bitch for the next month. Lots of 'will he, won't he' for Michaels. Finally snaps to set up the Wrestlemania match at No Way Out)

(Finish: JBL over dirty. Blow off Freedom vs. Career gimmick match at Backlash, Michaels over)

(Backstage camera shots show all MITB participants getting ready, MITB is next. Goes to Dolph Ziggler out cold, been jumped in the back. Medics, agents etc check him out)

4. Money In The Bank Ladder Match - Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Brian Kendrick, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Matt Hardy, Greg Helms, Rey Mysterio

(History: Standard MITB fare. Competitors qualify in the weeks leading up. Commentators speculate about Ziggler during match)

(Finish: Everybody is lying around except Matt and Rey. Both climb for the briefcase, teetering on top the ladder. Ezekiel Jackson hits the ring. Pushes the ladder, Hardy and Rey take bumps. Ezekiel helps Kendrick to his feet, starts pushing him up the ladder. Lights cut out, countdown starts, Chris Jericho, who we haven't seen since he was fired, hits the ring. Jericho over)

(Jericho promo. Hints at maybe getting involved in World title match)

5. Revenge Match (No DQ) - Jeff Hardy vs. Christian

(History: The hotel, the hit and run, the costing Jeff the belt at the Royal Rumble. Initial match at No Way Out resulted in Christian beating Jeff via dirty finish)

(Finish: Jeff over with a crazy bump/finish)

6. Smackdown/WWE Tag title Challenge - Carlito/Primo (c) vs. MVP/Kennedy vs. D.H Smith/T.J Wilson vs. Jesse and Festus

(History: See RAW one. Smith and Wilson debut between now and Mania, MVP and Kennedy have a outdoing each other similar to MVP/Hardy last year only this is better)

(Finish: MVP/Kennedy over)

7. World Heavyweight Championship - John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton

(History: Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton vs. World Heavyweight Champion John Cena)

(Finish: Cena over clean. Cena celebrates for a long time, annoying people/teasing a Jericho entry. It doesn't happen)

(Wrestlemania Khali Kiss Cam. Comedy. Hornswoggle, Boogeyman, Iron Shiek, Eugene, random divas and more involved, Vince comes out, throws a fit. Tells everybody to get out of his ring or they'll all be fired. Talks about Wrestlemania being his baby and how they're making it look like a joke etc blah blah. Glass shatters, Austin hits the ring, Vince pulls some classic facials, Austin gets the huge ovation, slaps Vince around, drinks beer YOU KNOW THE DRILL)

8. Smackdown vs. RAW - CM Punk (c)/Mike Knox/Kane vs. Shelton Benjamin (c)/Umaga/Big Show

(History: Filler/something for them to do)

(Finish: Umaga over Punk with the spike)

9. Triple Threat WWE Title match: Edge (c) vs. Triple H vs. The Undertaker

(History: Triple H is chasing Edge for a title match. As Edge is about to give his answer, Undertaker's GONG hits. Triple threat is set up)

(Finish: The Undertaker pins Edge to win a World title at a 3rd consecutive Mania. He poses, fireworks, Jim Ross hyperbolics etc etc)

(Countdown. Jericho. Cashes in. Edge nails Taker while his back is turned. Jericho takes advantage. Wins WWE title. Ends streak. Jericho signed with Vickie)

I'll post a WrestleMania card, but I won't follow your rules. Rules are for fools.

I'm going to combine what I think the card will be, with a mix of what I think it should be. And I hate multi-man matches for the top titles... one-on-one all the way with me.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
WWE Champion John Cena vs Randy Orton
Raw's most over babyface vs the most over heel. Simple wrestling booking, and even though these guys have met several times, there is still unfinished business from Orton punting Cena's dad in the head. Orton wins the Rumble to get his shot.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
World Champion Edge vs Triple H
Triple H hasn't gained his revenge yet for Survivor Series. His chance will come at WrestleMania.

The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels
The undefeated streak vs the one man who fans might actually believe has a shot at beating Taker, the guy who retired Ric Flair last year, "Mr. WrestleMania". Face vs face, Texan vs Texan, two legends with incredible WrestleMania legacies meet face to face in a one-on-one match for the first time in 12 years. Taker says he will never be beaten at Mania, Shawn says he cannot seriously consider himself Mr. WrestleMania until he has accomplished the BIG one, a win over Taker on the grand stage. It is a battle to see who is the definitive WrestleMania icon.

HOUSTON STREET FIGHT
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs C.M. Punk
C.M. Punk turns heel after his feud with Regal and uses his "Straight Edge" persona to rile up the beer drinkin' Rattlesnake during a guest appearance. Several weeks of "I'm straight edge therefore I'm better than you, Austin" snipes lead to a surprise run-in and a Stunner for C.M. Punk. Punk retaliates with a backstage assault later that night, and soon they're calling each other out. Austin cuts a promo similar to HBK's when he came back to face Triple H ("maybe I can't wrestle anymore... but dammit I can still fight") and the brawl is set for WrestleMania.

Jeff Hardy vs Christian
Christian is revealed as the cuplrit of the attacks on Hardy, costs him the title to Edge, Hardy seeks revenge at Mania.

Chris Jericho and JBL vs Vince and Shane McMahon
Upon being fired by Stephanie, Jericho expects Vince to reinstate him to the company, but Vince (now a feeble, nervous and wounded shell of his former self since the accident) refuses to undermine his daughter's decree. He has deteriorated mentally to where she is manipulating him and bullying him. Vince is now the second in command; Stephanie is running the show. Shane is trying to bring him out of it, and stand up against Steph but Vince is having none of it, his confidence crumbled. Worried about the future of the company under the frail Vince, JBL attempts to buy up as much stock as possible in a bid for a hostile takeover. This goes on for weeks, and Vince is too weak to defend himself, he sees the company literally being torn from under his feet. When the JBL takeover is in full swing, Stephanie realises she's in way too deep... she got too cocky and lost touch with reality. But she can't fight off JBL and his "main event attraction" the free agent Chris Jericho on her own, she needs the old Vince McMahon back. She offers JBL the chance to gain 100% ownership of WWE... but to do so, it would be over her family's dead bodies. If he can beat Vince and Shane at WrestleMania he can take their stock too. But if they win, he surrenders the lot back to the McMahons. JBL accepts, but Steph is worried. Nothing can make her father snap back to reality, regain his old fire and passion. She's just hopeful that when he is in Houston, out on the big stage, at his creation WrestleMania, that his drive will all come flooding back and he will find the fire he once had to see of JBL and Jericho for the sake of his company. (Yeah, hell I know somebody else went down the JBL/McMahon stock shares route earlier, and I doubt WWE - a genuine publicly traded company - would risk a storyline based heavily on a tumultuous situation with their stock, but still I kinda liked it and I didn't know what else to do with Jericho.)

The Legacy: Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and D.H. Smith vs The Islanders: Manu, Umaga and Sim Snuka
Manu recruits his cousin Umaga from SmackDown to form a modern day Islanders group with Sim Snuka to combat the Legacy underlings.

MONEY IN THE BANK
Rey Mystero, Evan Bourne, Tommy Dreamer, Kofi Kingston, Mr Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, R-Truth, Hurricane Helms
These guys can all go in spectacular fashion, some as high fliers, some as brawlers, each has a fanbase and several actually have a chance of winning. A Tommy Dreamer win would give him that elusive ECW title shot he has been crying out for, to tie in with his win-or-retire by June storyline and gives WWE an out for always having to put the WWE or World title on the MITB winner... would Dreamer really pick any title other than the ECW championship? And will Dreamer be the first guy ever to win MITB and not go on to win his title match?
Conversely, Rey Mysterio is a former champ, Ken Kennedy has missed the boat so many times he is looking to finally step up, Kingston and Bourne are both rising stars and Shelton Benjamin has nearly done it all except win the big one. I'd give Shelton the win.

ECW CHAMPIONSHIP
ECW Champion Jack Swagger vs Matt Hardy
Hardy finally gets his rematch.

Some kind of last-second-conceived Divas clisterfuck, probably involving both titles.

NeanderCarl
01-15-2009, 08:48 PM
I'll also throw Regal vs Big Show for IC title and Kane vs Vladmir Koslov, and add The Brian Kendrick into the MITB for the spectacle rather than him having any chance of winning.

ECW Title Match
Jack Swagger [c] (heel) def. Tommy Dreamer (face)
At this point, Dreamer has tried multiple times to win the ECW title that he vowed to win. Swagger prevents him from doing so at WrestleMania, cheating to win by balancing on the ropes or something. Kind of a dud match.

Inter-Promotional Divas Match (Champion vs. Champion)
Maria (face) def. Beth Phoenix (heel)
Leading up to the match, the relationship between Santino and Beth was starting to hit the rocks. As always, Santino tries to get back on Beth's good side by helping her win her match, getting up on the ring apron. Beth tells Santino to turn back around and let her win herself, which he does -- but Beth gets hit with Maria's bulldog when she turns around. Santino gets in the ring after the match to check on her and apologize, but Beth finally snaps and dumps Santino, but not before giving him the Glam Slam.

Tag Title Unification (4 Team Tag Turmoil)
Miz/Morrison [c] (tweener) def. The Colons (face), Kendrick/Ezekiel (heel) [c], and Cryme Tyme (face)
I think Kendrick and Ezekiel pick up the tag belts from the Colons sometime before WM. Cryme Tyme starts against Kendrick and Ezekiel. Zeke pins JTG following a huge Uranage, thanks in part to Kendrick distracting JTG while Zeke knocks Shad off the ring apron. The Colons enter next and we get some nice quick-paced action between Kendrick and the Colons like we've seen on SmackDown recently, but Kendrick cheats his way to a pin. Miz and Morrison enter last and pick up the win after using quick tags and their speed to to take advantage of their tired opponents. I think in this scenario they act more like tweeners than heels and win in relatively clean fashion. This could be the match that really puts Ezekiel on the map as a force on SmackDown...following this match they could start a program where he slowly starts to break away from Kendrick and turn face.

United States Title Match
MVP (face) def. Shelton Benjamin (heel) [c]
Benjamin's held the title for 6 months already, so what's a couple more...I can't see them taking the title off him before then, and there aren't really any more viable contenders. I think they hold off on MVP winning a title until WrestleMania, but they could do a storyline where Benjamin doesn't think he deserves a title match against the "Gold Standard" after such a long losing streak -- after all, Benjamin has been a champion since July and MVP recently lost to Kung Fu Naki. MVP finally "earns" a title shot at WrestleMania after beating Benjamin sometime after NWO, setting up the culmination of the MVP face turn -- winning a title at WrestleMania just a few months after it looked like he'd never win again.

Money in the Bank
CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Matt Hardy (winner) vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Christian vs. Evan Bourne
A Punk/DiBiase IC title bout is bumped from the card to make room for Taker's match, so they get dumped into the MITB. Jericho enters the match bragging about being the master of the ladder match, proclaiming himself the favorite. He nearly comes through before Matt Hardy, recovering from the typical nasty fall to the outside, manages to pull himself into the ring and tip over the ladder Jericho is on. He slowly climbs up and grabs the briefcase for the win.

Street Fight
Shawn Michaels (face) def. JBL (heel)
Michaels continues to do JBL's dirty work until after No Way Out, when it becomes clear that JBL won't get an opportunity to walk out of WrestleMania as World Heavyweight Champion. In an in-ring promo, JBL refuses to pay the money he's owed to Michaels on the grounds that HBM violated the terms of their deal -- he stresses that Michaels' job was to help him walk out of WM as World Champion, and since that won't happen, Michaels gets nothing. Michaels lays out JBL with SCM in the ring, then storms backstage to Stephanie's office to demand a Street Fight at WrestleMania. At WM, HBM and JBL have a brutal match that leaves both men bloodied. Michaels gives a series of SCM's to JBL before finally making the pin.

The Streak (No DQ)
Undertaker (face) def. Triple H (heel)
Flirted with the idea of Undertaker ending Kozlov's singles undefeated streak, but I had no place for HHH if I went for that. This has been done before, though, so I don't know how good it would be.

WWE Title Match (Extreme Rules Match)
Jeff Hardy (face) def. Edge (heel) [c]
Christian is revealed as the man behind the tragedies leading up to the Royal Rumble, and he helps Edge win the title at the Royal Rumble. Hardy feuds with the new Familia over the next couple months, and wins the EC at NWO despite Edge trying to stack the deck by getting Christian into the match. Edge makes Jeff's life hell after he wins the EC, but Jeff finally snaps and "kidnaps" Vickie, threatening to hurt her like E&C hurt his loved ones...unless Edge agrees to make the WM match Extreme Rules. Edge refuses and sends Christian and Chavo out to find Vickie, but she books the match as Extreme Rules in order to negotiate her release. At WM, Edge tries to arrange for outside help but Christian is taken out of action after the MITB match and Chavo isn't willing to help after Edge showed more concern for his title than the wellbeing of Vickie. Edge is left to fight for himself and holds his own (like the HIAC match at SummerSlam) but Jeff eventually hits the Swanton with Edge sandwiched between two chairs (like a con-chair-to) to win back his title.

World Title Match
John Cena (face) [c] def. Randy Orton (w/ Cody Rhodes and DH Smith), thanks to interference from Steve Austin
Rhodes and Smith loom outside the ring the entire match, taking the opportunity to get a few shots in on Cena whenever he falls outside the ring. Cena fights back and gains momentum before Orton grabs the referee and uses him as a shield against a Cena shoulderblock off the ropes. With the ref knocked out, Rhodes and Smith jump the ring, and Legacy triple teams Cena. Smith and Rhodes hold Cena in position while Orton prepares to punt Cena into next year. He's about to start his approach when....

*glass shatters*

...the 2009 HOF inductee storms down to the ring. Stunners Smith. The crowd goes nuts. Stunners Rhodes. Houston is going ballistic. Stone Cold stares down Orton with the crowd roaring in anticipation. Orton knows he's next and tries to run out of the ring, but Austin tails him around the ring. Orton slides back into the ring, but with his eyes on Austin he doesn't see that Cena has recovered. He turns around into the FU/whatever they're calling it then. Five Knuckle Shuffle and the pin. Austin and Cena celebrate with the crowd to end the show. Sucks that Cena's still champion, but at least we get to see an old school Stone Cold ass whipping.

- Aftermath of WM would have Jeff as WWE champion and a slightly jealous Matt Hardy holding the MITB briefcase. There's always a hint that Matt might take out little brother and cash in, and Jeff grows increasingly suspicious, but Matt acts like he would never dream of doing it. A few months later, Jeff goes through a fairly brutal title defense against Triple H or something but comes out with the strap. Matt comes out to "check on" his brother with a look of concern, but motions to the back and out runs a referee. Matt pins his brother right there to win the title and become a full-fledged heel.

- HBK gets a satisfying victory over JBL, and it could be revealed that he fulfilled a million dollar incentive in his contract by winning at WM or something dumb like that to settle the money issue.

- Miz and Morrison proclaim themselves the greatest tag team of the decade, and defend the tag titles on both shows for a few months before an inevitable break up as Morrison slowly becomes a bigger star.

- Tommy Dreamer will continue his quest for the ECW title, but will come up short until his last possible chance, and he decides to retire as ECW champion.

Surely part of the "game" is to get your card done despite the restrictions? It's a lot easier if you allow yourself 11 matches instead of 9 or have 3 old guys return instead of using only one as a guest ref.

ECW Championship Match

Tommy Dreamer vs Jack Swagger (h - c)
Swagger for months rips ECW as being a joke promotion because of its lack of competition. He rips everyone in it and tosses the belt around like it means nothing. Tommy Dreamer resents this and challenges him multiple times in the "spirit of ECW" Back and forth 15 minute match until the ref gets knocked down and Swagger grabs a chair which is taken from him by Tazz. Dreamer drops Swagger and the ref recovers just in time for the 3 count.

New ECW Champion: Tommy Dreamer

U.S. title match

Ken Kennedy (f, c) vs Christian

Christian, who returned at the Rumble and had a mtach with Jeff Hardy at NWO has been rdiculed by the locker room as the guy who left wwe because he couldn't hack it and went down to that "other" promotion. He decides that the best way to get some respect is to get himself a belt, so he challenges Kennedy. 20 minute match with Christian using a handful of tights to secure the win

New U.S. Champion, Christian

MitB Ladder Match

Big Show (h) vs MVP (t) vs R-Truth (f) vs Shelton Benjamin (h) vs Kofi(f) vs Dibiase(t) vs Matt Hardy (f) vs Evan Bourne (f)

Typical MitB, Big Show gets in after running in on an MVP/R-truth qualifying match saying that MitB has never seen anyone as big as him and that's why he'll win... and is subsequently eliminated after a sick bump - Winner: Dibiase

Interpromotional tag match (2 of 3 falls): Cryme Tyme (f) vs Miz & Morrison (h/c ) vs Carlito & Primo Colon vs Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder

Both falls will decide the belt for each promotion, Vince doesn't give a crap about tag team wrestling so pick 2 winners.... Miz & Morrison and Cryme Tyme

Future Endeavors Match: Loser must leave wrestling forever

Batista vs Umaga
In a dream match between my 2 least favorite wrestlers, Batista makes a Cena like receovery for Mania. A clothesline spot outside the ring goes wrong and both men are knocked out cold. Both get counted out, both must leave WWE.

Winner: The fans

I/C title: Punk (f) vs Regal(h/c)

The ongoing feud is finally resolves as C.M. Punk wins the IC title.

New Champ: C.M. Punk

Street Fight for the WWE Championship:

Hardy(f/c) vs Edge (h) vs HHH (t)

Sick spots galore in the street fight, ends with Hardy pinning HHH and HHH going heel and teeing off on Hardy with a sledgehammer

Still WWE Champion: Jeff Hardy

Beat the streak match:

HBM (f) vs Undertaker (f)
Taker and Michaels wrestle a ridiculous 35 minute match that ends with an exhausted Taker pinning HBM with the tombstone.

Vickie Guerrero comes out, determined to screw taker out of the streak. She says he has another challenger to the streak.... JBL who gives Undertaker a 10 minute beating, though taker pulls it out with a chokeslam. Vickie comes out again and says that he must fight Kane in a no holds barred match... right now. Kane comes out and beats on Taker and chokeslams him through the ring. A series of blazes of fire come out of the resulting hole. A visibly burned Taker rolls out of the hole (makeup of course) and is chokeslammed by Kane, who becomes infuriated when Taker kicks out at 2. Kane throws Taker in the corner and pounds him mercilessly while yelling "Why can't you rest in peace?!?" Kane decides to tombstone Taker which is reversed into a Taker Tombstone. Taker wins. Druids come to the ring and gather Taker and place him in a casket. As they bring the casket back, a voice comes in over the PA: "I can never rest in peace" The casket explodes and we don't see Taker for awhile or anymore depending.

Interpromotional Diva match:

Beth Phoenix vs Maryse vs some other Divas... whatever makes you happy

Winner: Beth Phoenix

Special challenge match:

Steve Austin vs Chris Jericho (h)

Jericho upon seeing the hype being put on SCSA's HOF induction asks the question, who cares? He goes on to claim he's the biggest star in WWE's history and that hell, he beat Austin become the 1st ever undisputed champion. He even comes out and attacks Austin on RAW which results in the challenge being thrown out.

Winner: Austin

WWE title match

John Cena (f/c) vs Randy Orton (t)
Cena and Orton battle for 35 mintues with Orton coming out on top. (Wont' happen but meh)

Winner: Randy Orton (new champion)

As Orton realizes what he's just done, he crawls on all fours exhausted to his prize. Suddenly, you see him drop from a kick to the head from Dibiase. Dibiase says he never forgave what Orton did to him and now its payback time. Dibiase cashes in his MitB and a stunned crowd watch Orton get his ass beat and lose the title.

Winner: Ted Dibiase Jr. (New champion)

It would be but you decided to ignore the rules.

10 matches (without using the MitB briefcase). Bringing back RVD, Austin and THE ROCK!!?

Mine is based soundly in reality, using the current roster, turning one person, not even bringing a veteran back and only missing Kane & Kozlov off the card (big deal really).

Because if you stick to the rules, you end up with a card that is nowhere near reflective of how the WrestleMania card will actually look. I know it's "your choice" rather than "your predictions" but if it was my choice, I still wouldn't choose to defend every single title on the show, as you'd have nothing but titles matches and no "marquee" singles matches revolving around other issues.

XL
01-16-2009, 03:15 PM
Well I managed to have Jeff v Christian, JBL v Shane and Taker v HBK (that's a third of the card) and get all the titles on the show.

Given the restrictions I think my card is pretty solid.

NeanderCarl
01-16-2009, 03:17 PM
But if you just have title vs title all the way through to cram all the champs in, then you're gonna end up with a bunch of unified titles at the end of the show which is clearly not the direction WWE is going.

XL
01-16-2009, 03:22 PM
I had one match unifying titles and that doesn't necessarily need to be a unification match. It just makes sense to do that for the card and for the WWE in general tbh.

Maybe I'll go back add some extra matches, re-sign talent that has been let go and put a guy in a match regardless of the fact that there is the slimmest of chances he'd ever do it (The Rock). I could do that but then I wouldn't be playing the game would I?

NeanderCarl
01-16-2009, 03:33 PM
The rules stated every title must be used in the event. To me, that says every title must be on the line (otherwise the rule would be "every champion must be used in the event").

There are 9 championships, and 9 matches allowed. Following the rules, either EVERY match would be a title match, or you would have to either have a unification or title vs title match at the very least once during the card just to have any kind of non-title singles match. If the whole card for WrestleMania was made up of title matches, we get nothing but a glorified Night of Champions.

Hmmm... on a kinda related note, I wonder what celebrity appearance WWE has planned for this years show? If Mickey Rourke wins an Oscar for The Wrestler, as much as McMahon hates it, do you think he'd invite Mickey to get involved in the real deal?

OK. In that case make my Tag/Ladie's Titles match and the IC/US Title match for the belts. Therefore you have all the titles defended and 3 "grudge" matches.

All I'm saying is that I feel you have to abide by the rules that the guy who set it up applies. I'm not saying that would be my ideal WM25 card by any means. Personally I think a 3 'Man', 3 Team Triple Threat match for the World Tag, WWE Tag, Diva's and Women's championships is a little overbooked...but it's a means to an ends. And those ends are working within the rules established in the first post.

Why does WWE have a reputation for "starting afresh" after each WrestleMania, when 3 weeks later Backlash is usually nothing more than a bunch of WrestleMania rematches.

I still propose they change the name of the pay-per-view from Backlash to Rehash.
