yea but when he came back from LA after christmas he trained once and decided to move his entire camp out to LA and if I wasnt fucking student teaching right now Id be out there training with him... instead Im stuck in chicago where it has been -20F!!! haha

Sucks you ain't there dude. Being part of Arlovski's traing camp for his fight against fedor would be just about the sickest thing ever.

I was a part of it from like october till mid december, but yea i would have liked to meet freddie roach and maybe pick something up from him.

Andrei has a real strong sambo backround as well so he thinks he can counter fedor's enough to keep it where he needs which is on the feet. I really dont think theres too much to the plan other than to knock his ass out, but if need be, andrei has developed some pretty strong wrestling takedowns to compliment his sambo throws. I wouldnt want him to mess around too much with fedor on the grownd tho.

I guess that doesnt answer your question... in terms of pressing or countering Im not sure. Id assume with fedor they will be going after him so I guess pressing.

I would just love it if Andrei came out like a tank and bullied him in stand up. I think it is going to take a blistering pace to get Fedor to open up enough to find the big gaps. I worry that Andrei has looked alot slower to engage than he used to and such caution I think is something fedor thrives on, but to me Arlovski toyed with Rothwell in his last fight, chose when to finish and did it with some pretty brutal old school Pitbull agression.

I think Arlovski on top of his game is the guy to knock him out. Can't wait for this fight.

And just watching freddie Roach in interviews fascinates me, watching him teach would have been something else.

You know, Fedor might have a suspect chin. The fights hes had against top level guys, he never really took a clean punch to the face. Nogiera has good standup but hes no KO threat and while crocop was a great striker, his strength wasnt in the hands, but more in the kick and he never landed it clean on Fedors dome. He didnt let silvia even throw a punch.

If you can find the fight with fedor and fujita, you can clearly see that fedor was KOed on his feet for a brief moment from a wild punch to the face. He even took some time to recover from it.

If Andrei can let his hands fly without taking a big shot to the chin himself, I can see him KOing Fedor.

Fedor also cuts easy so Arlovski can capitalize on that.

I'm still going for Fedor tho :o, but I wouldn't be surprised if Arlovski won. Would be less surprised if Feodr won though.
