So, earlier today I went looking to download some more DBZ music since I lost all the ones I had and came across a new Special that apperently aired September 21, 2008 called Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!. I thought it was a joke when I clicked on it but it ended up being real as all the original Seiyuu were in it(Not to mention Akira Toriyama wrote it); I won't spoil it but a short saiyan lands on earth and says something that shocked everyone. It's set 2 years after Kid Buu's defeat.

here's a dl link (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PRHVQGQ1)

Quick note with the new live action being releast soon, like almost everyone here says, the male Son members'(Goten,Gohan,Goku) Seiyuu, Masako Nozawa, criticized Justin Chatwin's Pronunciation of Kamehameha.

Yeah, heard about this a while back. Was more excited about this than the live action shit. Definitly gonna give it a look.

What is an flv file tho?

Damn, I could have sworn I posted this a while ago...

Yeah it's awesome, a lot of fan service for the aging DBZ purist.

Definitely going to check this out. Thanks, man. :y:

Also, you know your live movie is running into difficulty when your lead cannot pronounce the move he does correctly.

But seriously, I do hope this leads to more real Dragonball Z. Not the live action movie, not the live action movie game, and not GT.

More fuckin' Z. Or at least, I hope they put the new guys from the special in future Budokai etcetcetc games.

It is telling that the setting is during the Z era, before GT. I rather they go with that era, rewrite GT altogether.

Well just watched it. Certainly wasn't expecting one of those things that I saw, well a couple of things I saw. But I wouldn't really rate it as that good of a Z movie but it's still good to see one.

Seemed more like a really well made fan movie, then an actual z movie. Whatever, maybe itwill lead to something more.

Hopefully it does. Anything would be better than the abomination that's going to be the "live action" movie

Watching this again, and tbh, it's pretty terrible. Animation seems subpar, even by the show's standards, let alone movies. And the story and fight is forgettable as well.

Pretty freakng bad, and the only appeal of it, is it's the first new material in a really long time.

Yeah compared to the others like Cooler, Broly, Janemba, or even Bojack this one sucks horribly. Although for Broly they just needed to stop with the first one. The second one wasn't that good cause they jobbed him out and the third one was just forgettable. Oh and Super Android 13 was decent.

But this one... yeah if it wasn't for the fact that it was new... nobody would have cared to watch it cause it just isn't good. The fight itself sucked and the ending sucked.

The third Broly movie? Was that the one with Bio Broly where he was a gigantic mass of toxic waste?

Yeah, that one was the worst by FAR.

The action in Bio-Broly was awesome, though. Great direction in the fight scenes. I just hate what they did with Broly, they may as well made that toxic husk a new character rather than mess up a great design.

speakin of that movie... I'ma have to download and watch it again because I can't remember everything about it... I just remembered I hated it. Cause in the first one Broly was the unstoppable warrior. It took all of them transferring their power to Goku just to have a chance to stop him.

The second it took kid Trunks, kid Goten, and Gohan and that's it. Even Videl was able to withstand Broly on her own.

lol, yeah. I remember thinking about that while I was watching it.

And Videl was thrashed by Spopovich in the series. I hate to get into one of those "who's stronger" debates, but I'm pretty sure that Broly was quite a bit more stout than Spopovich. I mean, I get that Spopovich had the abilities/power of a Majin, but Broly was the Legendary Super Saiyan. Yet Videl was trading blows with him. :|

Presentation wise, Broly was the most powerful character in DBZ. He was just so convincing. He definitely needed Deus Ex Machina to finish the movie.

Well after watching that one DBZ movie it got me inspired to try to look up the Bio Broly movie so I could see it again so I could remember what it was all about and in the search I found another DBZ movie that I haven't seen before. It's subtitled in English

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U3HC6XCX

The fights are definitely better than that one movie at the beginning of the thread. I just haven't been able to pinpoint the timing of when it took place cause it's after the Cell Saga cause Gohan has that short hair cut as the teen, but Goku isn't dead so it throws me off. Plus Trunks is still around.

But the good stuff happens in the second half of the movie with the returnees.

I remember seeing that a LONG time ago, probably about 13 years ago. It was based on Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Plan To Destroy The Saiyajins for the Famicon and Playdia as the games footage is clearly in the movie, so it's technically a game/movie. here's a DL link to the game which I still can't beat Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Plan To Destroy The Saiya-jins (http://romhustler.net/download/nes/374)

Im pretty sure most of the movies are sort of off in alternate timelines from the t.v. series arent they?

I know Tree of might is, I cant remember the names of any others, havent watched much DBZ in a few years. But most seem to fit into two catergories, alternate timeline of prequels which are often unlinked or unmention in the series.

Yeah the movies are out of timeline, but they do use going-ons from the show as backdrops for the movie's setting.

Fusion is my favorite, just for how hilarious yellow janemba and fat gogeta are, and for how badass red janenba and gogeta are. Also, the line 'but vegeta, you're already dead', and his expression afterwards, had me in tears the first time I saw it.

Not sure if you guys knew of this but they actually had made another episode after Dragonball GT's supposed end:- A hero's Legacy. I was watching it just now, and I am pretty sure that its from the original creators: http://www.megavideo.com/?v=FSMIHSK7

Ya that's the one. I didn't know it was a movie.

I thought it was pretty good, bar the retarded way he became a Super Saiyan, being such a legendary thing to accomplish.

What I don't understand is apparently every successive generation is more powerful from the previous and by that logic, this kid should have had no issues in being a super saiyan at any stage.
