View Full Version : Who's the baddest dude that isn't a top fighter

Could be top 10 but generally is a "gatekeeper" and definitely belongs in the big leagues, but is never going to be champion?
I'll say Lights Out Lytle is just a straight tough dude. Clay Guida is another.
If you can't beat either of those guys you aren't ready for prime time, and they'll give any one of the top guys in the division a hard time. They are super hard to finish and can keep going all night. Never going to be the tops though.

Yeah you know those ex champions who aren't top fighters.
Though Kris P. Miguel Torres is a champion is he not? I was sure he was the top of his division.
I like Anthony Johnson though, he's a badass.

some guys i would say could be top dogs if they didnt have BJs, GSPs, and silvas in their way but anyway...
gate keepers of their division:
gonzaga for sure 265
heath herring 265
id say keith jardine but it seems that no matter what happens when you fight him the result is always overlooked so i dunno what that does to the gate keeper status 205
Joe stevenson looks like hes taking on that roll 155
chris leban 185
frank trigg 170
jeff curran145
Gayekeeper of title:
all the top guys at 265 are capable of beating eachother
id say same at 205
anyone that isnt Silva is gate keeping the title, but specifically it would be franklin
fitch 170
sherk 155

No dude. Just read the MMA thread. I was kissing Forrest's ass alot before and after he won the title. I don't do smileys to show i'm kidding. Me and you have had this exact same argument before as well bro.
Torres though? I never put my crazy suggestions as part of a list. :p
Ooh, I guess I do use them!
PS. Fabien, you reek of internet mma fan. You are like the mma "smart mark" or something.
Thats fantastic. You reek of a wrestling fan who could not understand the sport of MMA any less. Your only input to this entire forum is talking horseshit about Coleman/Rua, and suggesting UFC should invest money into promoting a guy who loses every time he faces a top 5 contender.

I dunno I have a pretty good grasp of MMA, I've been watching a lot of it for the past 4 years. I just don't think I know everything about it (see: you).
And watch the Leites Marquardt fight and tell me Nate didn't get royally fucked over.

You admit to not knowing much and then turn around and argue with the people that do.... does that sound retarded to you? Why dont instead of you being combative all the time for whatever insecure personal reason you have, you actually listen to what others are saying and learn something.

I'm not as combative as you think. I just like to debate about this shit. It's more, you telling me what's what like you are the be all and end all aggrivates me. My cousin also trains mma and we have thoughtful conversations about mma where there's no name calling and we both actually listen to one another.
PS. I don't think Fabien knows shitall to be honest, he knows as much as any other fan who watches.

And just because you train doesn't mean you know shit. I know guys who play sports who don't know the first thing about the sport they play.
