DEFINE WRESTLER!

Fabien Barthez
01-22-2009, 01:05 PM
Got to be Morrison I guess. He has the look, he is a pretty good worker, his mic work is alright. The dirt sheet does him a world of favours. He wrestles on every single show the WWE put out so..... Yeah.

Kofi reminds me of Token from South Park.

Because he is Black.

Fabien Barthez
01-22-2009, 01:06 PM
Actually, its because he is black, and painfully generic. Not a bad worker, but the character is pretty lame.

Destor
01-22-2009, 01:07 PM
Lame maybe, but not generic, very unique chareter.

Kofiiiiiiiiiiii Kingston

Kingston:shifty:

I voted for Morrison. I'm pretty sure he can one day carry the company on his back. Remains to be seen with Kofi.

Like theddy said, Morrison has better long-term potential

Morrison's Abs.

Kofi's crazy athletic and has a bit of charisma in the ring, but at this time he's pretty much just a generic midcard face. Morrison's going to be be in the World title picture in a year or two.

What? Black guy with Dreads, comes out to a jamaican gimmick and a what sounds like a Sean Paul song.

He is a matted grey beard and a big fat reefa away from becoming a cartoon!

Destor
01-22-2009, 01:14 PM
But having a cartoon gimmick is the opposite of being generic/vanilla.

Xero
01-22-2009, 01:19 PM
Not when 80% of the roster has a cartoon gimmick.

Fabien Barthez
01-22-2009, 01:19 PM
He is just Sanka from Cool Runnings. a Black dude playing a jamaican stereotype is just like Bradshaw playing a texan cowboy.

HIS SURNAME IS KINGSTON FFS!

I'm going with Morrison. His awesomeness is well documented. Plus, I'm not the biggest Kofi fan.

Heros Welcome

Kofi is fun to watch, but its Morrison who has got it all. Once he breaks away from the tag scene and becomes a better heel he`ll one day be champion. Plus its hard to vote against the abs!

BigDaddyCool
01-22-2009, 04:28 PM
Kofi is fun to watch, but when Morrison gets the chance to open up in a singles match, so is he. I could watch Kofi and Morrison wrestle any day of the week. The thing is Kofi can only go so far with his current gimmick and size in the WWE, Morrison has a much more dynamic gimmick that will let him go where he wants, plus he is slightly bigger than Kofi and has looked effective against Bats.

BigDaddyCool

Plus I'm gay for morrison's abs.

01-22-2009, 05:43 PM
I love them both, but like others have said (in this and other threads), Morrison could very well be World Champion. I just don't see that for Kofi. While is a good worker, he can only go so far with that character before he gets lost in the midcard shuffle.

So I'm going with Morrison.

This will be a landslide Victory. I am a complete Morrison Mark. I love the matches he has worked with HBK. To see Morrison kip up and do the whole schitk that Michaels does lets me know that Morrison will be putting on 5 star matches for a long time.

Lengthy Morrison/Punk fued for IC title please.

Jeritron

Morrison's a guy who I'm happy with the direction of. They aren't jumping the gun on pushing him, and I hope they don't in the near future.
I'd like to see him spend a good year or two fueding with other uppermidcard guys for the IC or US belt. He'd be a great heel midcard champ.

I wouldn't mind seeing him win MITB, but I'd like to see him lose a hard fought contest against someone established that really puts him over, rather than winning this year.
It'd be nice to see him win, and milk that gimmick for a while, and then cash it in against HHH or Cena or whoever, and actually give them a run for their money in a great match.
If the crowd began to get behind him, he could hopefully use the loss to become a bigger heel and show a mean streak/become more serious. Not too serious though.
Pretty much would like to see him pushed similar to HBM in the early to mid 90s

Yeah, Kofi is awesome in the ring. Character-wise they haven't really done anything with him though. Morrison's come a long way.

I think he still has a lot of room to grow. So does Kofi. Morrison is just further along than Kofi is.

I'm sure Kofi will make a decent IC champ someday. (Yes I know he already had the title, but that wasn't interesting.)

Morrison will make a decent world champ someday. Abs = vote.

But he will be LUCKY to break the glass ceiling and that's based more off his talent than anything else. I think a lot of you are crazy.

Krimzon7
01-23-2009, 09:55 AM
Morrison has talent. He has shown that he can work a variety of matches with people ranging from Batista to Punk. I just don't think that talent would be the reason Morrison wouldn't get a chance to be the top guy.

thedamndest
01-23-2009, 12:34 PM
Five years from now Batista will probably be gone, as will Taker, HBK MIGHT still be around, HHH might be around but in a part-time capacity, Cena will probably be around, and Orton will still probably be around. Based on that, they're gonna have to fill that void and they're already pretty GayforMorrison123. I don't think or want it to happen any time soon. I think he's fine where he is right now, but I could see them pushing him all the way eventually. I'm not trying to say he's Ric Flair or anything, but the Rock was still pretty green when he entered the main event.

Destor
01-23-2009, 12:54 PM
This guy is a mid carder at BEST. A good one though, pretty entertaining. But he's going to have to improve by a lightyear if he wants to "carry the company on his back." Or some of these crazy things that are being said. He's not that talented, his talent stops WAY short of the mark.

Destor
01-23-2009, 12:55 PM
Now if he continues to improve we'll see, but there's no garuntee on this people.

Just for the sake of discussion, what is weak about John Morrison, Destor?

Destor
01-23-2009, 01:12 PM
His promos are sometimes mediocre and usually terrible. Dunno how he got them over with you people but it blows my mind.

His psychology is really shit. He a spot worker and the only reason it doesn't show is because of the road agents planning the match. Any time he gets lost it's spot spot spot. Flippy ting here, flippy thing there.

How long did it take to get mid-card over? Like 3 years? Yeah I wouldn't hold my breath on main event status anytime soon.

Destor
01-23-2009, 01:14 PM
This is nothing more than one of TPWW's man crush's no different than Kennedy when he was being hyped by you guys as the next big thing in wrestling, except this one makes even less sense seeing as how long he strugled to keep his job and not suck.

Anybody Thrilla
01-23-2009, 01:22 PM
One thing that really makes me a mark for Morrison is that he is a product of the MTV Tough Enough show. I remember loving that show, but thinking that there was no way that anybody could come out of that show and have a credible career. I was almost right until Mr. Hennigan came along.

Destor
01-23-2009, 01:25 PM
FTR: I liek Morrison and think he's afun mid-carder. But come on guys, over-rate him much?

Anybody Thrilla
01-23-2009, 01:31 PM
I think one of the main allures of Morrison for a lot of people is that he's less cookie-cutter by comparison to a lot of the current roster. Not to say that a lot of people aren't capable on today's roster, but he seems to be allowed to shine a bit more. They must be high on him, seeing as to how he wrestles on pretty much every show, regularly. I wonder what his touring schedule must look like?

Dorkchop
01-23-2009, 02:07 PM
I love Kofi, but I have to vote Morrion right now.

Anybody Thrilla
01-23-2009, 02:09 PM
Do you really love Kofi? Or are you just pointing and random things and saying you love them?

thedamndest
01-23-2009, 03:20 PM
Destor, your reasoning is why I've got him on the five year plan. He's come leaps and bounds since his debut, but I don't want him in the main event tomorrow. For a guy who is where he is because of a reality show, that's pretty impressive, and I'm just assuming that if he's made it this far he's got the capacity and the desire to make it higher. Orton was pretty terrible his first little while on the job, and they stuck with him. He's a spotfest now, but if they do push him as a ME heel they will probably ground him a bit 1) to make the matches better/longer 2) to keep in stride with the "safe style" 3) to keep him from potentially getting over as a face

Random ruminitions on my Morrison five-year plan

Also, I would like a Punk/Coffee feud.

Jeritron
01-23-2009, 04:46 PM
Yea, he's developing. I wouldn't lump myself in with the people who overrate or worship him, but I do like him. He has potential. He just needs to be pushed steadily and do his part along the way to improve. He's at an appropriate place right now, and I think he deserves to be pushed a bit harder as a singles star in the near future.

Jeritron
01-23-2009, 04:49 PM
He's the type of guy I like to see developed over the years and gradually moved up the card.
This is what I always want them to do with new stars with potential, but they always jump the gun.
I hope he's on the 5 year plan instead of the CM Punk/Orton plan.
