View Full Version : Issues with Windows Media Player/FFMpeg

Yeah so seems like I can't play files in Windows Media Player anymore. Most of the time when I do, I get a message that says something called COM Surrogate is no longer working, then the same message about Windows Media Player, and it dies.

Then it tells me it's a problem with FFMpeg. Now I think I picked up FFMpeg in a codec pack or something, but I'm not real sure how to replace it. Googled it and found a file, but no directions on how to install it or anything.

Help?

Try this: http://www.cccp-project.net/

And it may help to uninstall any current codecs.

P.S. Are you using Vista? A quick google shows this is a Vista problem of some sort.

I'll check it out. I am using Vista. It's odd, no problems at all with ffdshow at all till a couple days back.
