Interesting reading
I guess with no cruiserweight division nowadays, it's hard to pick out future ones.

I"m still pretty sure Helms is the next little guy to hit the top tier. Probably woulda been Kendrick, but he's gone retarded for pot, so I"d say he's out.
So did KK actually follow through on his promise when two of those he mentioned made it to the top?
Well one really 'cause Rey never won did he? :shifty:

I'd point out that I'd be happy to see any CW make it.
Even Knoble and Spike, two people who I don't really associate with Cruiser wrestling.
I'd be happier to see someone better, though.
If Mysterio, Dragon, Eddie, Shannon, etc. made it to the top, I'd f'ing blow a load on my TV screen.

I don't really see the allure of Helms. I thought he was mildly entertaining as The Hurricane, but even then, I didn't want him to win matches. Now, he looks especially douchey with his basketball shorts and dumb tattoo. He doesn't look like a wrestler so much as he looks like a douche bag. I enjoyed him during his heel Cruiserweight title run the most, but now, he's lost all steam with me.

He lost steam when he broke his neck. He needs to get rolling again, and then we can see where it's going to go. I'm just saying in terms of littler guys, I'd say he's the next in line.
IF they decide to push another non-hoss. IF.

I really had high hopes for THE Brian Kendrick, but he seems like a joke already. Is Morrison a cruiserweight?

Morrison's billed at around 220.

Have you noticed that they stopped announcing weight in the ring intros? I used to know all of the wrestlers' weights when I was a kid because they would announce it....
"From Death Valley, California...weighing in at three hundred twenty eight pounds.....THE UNDERTAKER!"
"From Calgary, Alberta, Canada...weighing in at two hundred thirty pounds....Bret "Hitman" Hart!"
So on and suchforth....
When did they stop announcing weights (outside of huge guys like Big Show and Khali for novelty value)? Or do they still do it and I'm just a doofus?
My money is on Evan Bourne to break past the "little guy" stigma. I'm not saying he's gonna win a World Title - but neither is Helms or perhaps anyone outside of Mysterio. But they seemed to be giving him a decent push and the fans are/were behind him.

Some great flip-flopping here.
Mysterio, but he'll prolly only get title shots on TV not PPV.

Why hasn't KK posted in this thread yet? What are his thoughts now about all of this? I demand answers or else I'm going to have to do nothing about it until I stop caring in 15 minutes and never remember this again.

"High hopes"? That's funny. I'm frustrated at that guy because the company wanted to shoot him to the top Bradshaw style, and the shit head decides getting stoned is more important. He's where he deserves to be, in my opinion. Not for a lack of skill, but for the pressence of stupidity.
Didn't stop them from pushing Hardy...
I'm not disagreeing, just saying.

Hardy wised up. Hardy also has tenure, to a degree. Hardy's also a big name and a big face. Kendrick walked out at one point because he felt the company wasn't treating him accordingly for a man of his ability. And I can respect that. And then he comes back, and the company welcomes his return. And he has, what, like the 3rd or 4th longest reign as atag champ. That's called "good treatment". Then he gets sent to his singles career for a superpush, and instead he gets 14 consecutive drug test failures for pot.
Now, I have nothing against pot. I don't use it, but it shouldn't be illegal. That being said, you don't bitch and moan and take a walk because you're not getting the proper recognition, and then come back, get the treatment, and ignore the rules. It's fucking retarded. I really don't mean to rant about it, but I was behind the guy 110% (not just because he's adorable), and then when he's damn near at the top, he pisses it straight down his leg. It makes no fucking sense, and this time it's completely his fault.
Primo, Helms and Evan from Heaven.

Come on. It's just weed. Hardly a big deal. Orton smokes weed, and look at him. Also, I don't think weed is going to make him the next Chris Benoit. There are far bigger problems on the roster than THE Brian Kendrick. I just think there were some people backstage who didn't like him for one reason or another and he's just the next victim of politics.

Check the second post. It's not about him smoking, it's about him completely reversing himself. He wanted better treatment, he got it, and then decided to break the rules. I don't care by doing what.
Besides, Orton's also got a lineage behind him. TBK could be Kizarny'ed tomorrow and the world would go on. If Orton started jobbing to Primo, there'd be a confused murmur amongst the crowd.

Lineage or not, to come down on some people for smoking pot and not on others is just hipocracy. Maybe Kendrick realizes that and it makes him angry, but I will say he's not doing himself any favors.

Again, 14 consecutive tests. And I don't like it either, but this company LOVES nepotism. Orton defacated in someone's garment bag and that was perfectly fine. He gets away with a lot of crap -- no pun intended -- because of his name. And that's not even the point. The last time Kendrick didn't like things, he left. If he doesn't like it now, he might as well walk again. But bitching about not being treated properly and then getting the treatment and pissing on it -- well, that's just a hypocritical, don't you think?

No, not really. Was weed ever an issue with him before he walked?

I don't know. Why would that matter?
Anybody Thrilla
02-03-2009, 12:03 PM
Because it's not like they said "OK, we'll give you the push as long as you stop smoking weed". I think THAT would have made him a hypocrite.

But the weed doesn't matter. It's simply the means by which he's shooting himself in the foot.

I think awhile back there was a Triple H interview where he was railing on some of the young guys on the roster for not wanting to spend time in the ring getting better and really learning the craft from some of the bigger names backstage. He didn't name any names, but IIRC the story came out around the same time the news about Kendrick failing those tests and laughing them off came out. I wouldn't be surprised if HHH dislikes the guy and is getting held down for that reason. And in this case, I don't think I could blame him for that.
To me, the issue isn't that he failed 14 straight drug tests and refuses to stop smoking pot. That's fine. It's the arrogance of literally just handing over the cash instead of pissing in the cup and laughing about it. He's a talented guy, but the business is filled with talented guys who are too lazy to really elevate themselves to the next level.

Apparently The Brian Kendrick is in the "doghouse" because he doesn't listen to agents' advice backstage. I can sort of understand why The Kendrick wants to make his own mark on the business using what he already knows, but the guy was WWE Champion for eight minutes (unofficially). He was so close to "making it" in the WWE, and he is making things incredibly hard for himself.
The guy could have been winning Money in the Bank this year, but now it is even doubtful he will make the match. It's a shame, really, because he has a lot going for him. But, apparently CM Punk was in the doghouse at one stage, and guys like Finlay and Arn Anderson were apparently favouring guys like Snitsky over him. And Finlay trained CM Punk.
If Kendrick gets an Attitude Adjuster, then I see no reason he can't get himself to the level it looked like he was going to be elevated to almost overnight.
