How is it possible that they got away with this at all. Atleast 25% of the live audience is kids from like 12-17 or so. Probably with there parents. Was there any outrage?
ROFL @ " I love the smell of Formaldehyde in the morning "
That was one of the best lines i've ever heard on WWE tbh lol

One of my favourite segments of all time.
It's right up there with anything featuring Al Wilson.

I have no idea how he got away with it. Who burps on live tv?
And at the end you can hear people booing. But it wasnt like " BOOO YOU SUCK TRIPLE H" it was more like " BOOO THIS IS FUCKING HORRIBLE! WHERE'S REPO MAN VS SKINNER MATCH? "
They got away with it by putting that warning up.
Seriously.

They kinda dropped (as in made no further reference) it leading up to their match at No Mercy if I remember rightly. There was all kinds of stuff going on that year, it was brand split year.
They referenced it at least once more. Triple H brought the dummy and casket to the ring at one point.

They mentioned it a handful of times since then in a joking/ashamed sort of way. Wrestlercrap loves this angle.

There is an interview with Paul Levesque floating around out there where he talks about it and laughs
They got away with it by putting that warning up.
Seriously.
The live crown still was forced to watch it no matter what warning was put up.

2003 was definitely an 'odd' year for the WWE. It was so bad...that I actually enjoyed that year. :?:
You had the Katie Vick angle, the Al Wilson angle, the introduction of Cena, Batista, and Orton, and the WCW alumni......that were completely shitting the bed with every opportunity presented. :D

The ratings on that segment went through the roof, so Vince ran with it the next week. Ratings on the next week were through the floor, which still translates into more viewers than WWE currently has. They yanked it almost immediately.

They survived it by transforming their program into a G-Rated show almost as soon as this angle was done with. They went straight to a kids-friendly show in order to appease the angry parents/viewers. You can thank Katie Vick for the shit we have to endure now.

Yeah I don't think I will ever forget this. My very first WWE live event was the week after this happened, and HHH is in the middle of the ring talking to a dummy.

One of the last times WWE actually responded to ratings.
What's most disturbing is that someone wrote this fucking garbage and thought "hey, this will make people want to watch the PPV!"

Actually, I think Vince just said "Hey Hunter, you know what would be funny? You fucking a dead chick! "
(From the Diary of Paul Levesque)
Dear Journal,
Today I was having coffee with Vince and Steph. Always terrifying being around the big man; still don't know quite how to act. I made a joke about how we should do an angle where I screw a chick in a coffin just to piss off the PTC now that they're off our backs, and he said he's going to do it! I think he was joking but Steph said Daddy was using the "important" voice, which means he's serious. I dunno. I'll write more after Monday's sketch tapings.
Love,
Hunter
Dear Journal,
Dave said I'm getting a bit shaggy and that I should "get my ears lowered". I don't know what that means, probably plastic surgery.
Love,
Hunter

You know, I'd just like to bring this up... WWE comes to your funeral home to film a skit... and you let them doing while an ACTUAL FUNERAL is going on?!?!
Wouldn't his face had been red had they set up in the wrong room.

That would have been awesome in the sheer horror of it.

Chances are they made 5X the rate of a normal funeral for that one low budget little shoot. It looked like all practical lighting, maybe a couple of lights, but other than that it was probably shot in like an hour.
Funeral home runners gotta make that money too.

Must had been Paul Bearer's funeral home.

See, the problem doesn't come into light until you realize there was another funeral going on at the time.
