Why the hell does Awesome Kong need an entourage? Andre and Big Show didn't have entourages. TNA is stupid.

Steiner announcing on Impact is pretty awesome though.

Booker T commentating as Don West is awesome so far. It might get old pretty fast.

Andre totally had an entourage. Big Machine and Super Machine.

M.E.M. is easily the best commentary team in the business.

Sugarbutt has it going in the other room, it is TNA as usual. I've been working on the ranking system, but go TNA sucks. I actually hope RoH takes TNA's time slot.

Nash has been on commentary all night. Thus, TNA has been glorious all evening.

I decided having relations with my fiance was more important than the second half of Impact. I'll maybe check out the replay if I'm not doing anything Saturday evening. I probably won't.

It's actually pretty hillarious, Steiner doing ring announcer made me laugh a few times.

Andre did have a posse, though.:shifty:

He had Heenan...and that's big enough for an entourages.

Impact was hilariously, awesomely awful. Booker T apparently on coke doing a Don West impression, talking constantly. Nash just sat back and enjoyed, and made fun of stuff. Steiner, as we probably assumed, is just barely literate.

And Dorkchop, you absolutely made the right decision. MEM got kicked off the announce team shortly into the second hour and the show went to shit.

Not gonna lie, ended up catching it, first half was great, Booker & Nash kept me laughing and watching, Kurt in the office was hilarious, Steiner's illiteracy was mint.

Best part was Booker introducing himself for the match

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Yeah, I caught that, it was pretty good. I wonder if Don West got the hint.

"Snow, where ya goin? Hey there's Booker T making his first appearance tonight!"

Booker was awesome tonight. I lol'd when he was doing play-by-play as he gave a beat down. And when he kept saying how big Morgan was ("The thing about Morgan is just how big he is. You don't realise how big he is, he's real big. If you look at Morgan the first thing you'll notice is that your looking at something big. The thing with Morgan is that he's big.")

And I'm sure I heard the words "Dejon Mustard", a play off of JR's BBQ fetish methinks.

Booker T is awesome. As much as I love comedic wrestlers, Booker has maybe become a little too goofy. TNA is dumb, but it could be interesting if he was becoming mad with power. A slow progression would be nice, but it's a little too late for that. Don't even really make it a storyline... just make it part of his character development.

Booker is still one of my favorite wrestlers at the moment. If TNA weren't so stupid I'd love to see a good feud where someone actually beats him for his legends title.

And not just have Rhino disappear for 3 months only to come back to challenge for the title, lose, then disappear for another 3 months.

That was actually the first time I was really into Impact was with the first hour.

Booker and Nash on commentary automatically got me interested. Booker was just off the page and yeah that play by play beatdown was something else. Then Steiner as ring announcer was almost priceless.

But of course as soon as MEM relinquished power and "TNA" took it back the show went to shit.

It's almost as if TNA needs to take a hint at things and see how crappy everything seems when they run it and specially the commentary. But when other people are doing it... it's actually watchable.

FIRE DON WEST from commentary

Steiner on commentary? Would we even know what he's saying half the time?

So, who is more coherent on commentary: Steiner or JR?

XL
01-30-2009, 02:42 PM
JR is more coherent but Steiner actually calls the moves/wrestlers by their actual names. :y:

I haven't watched TNA for a few weeks (having previously got back into it) so I might be off the mark here but here are a few things I noticed/questioned:

Why is Petey Williams still a Mini Steiner? Last I saw they were split by being with the MEM and Frontline respectively, then MEM laid a beatdown on Williams which I believe was lead by Steiner. So why would Petey still wanna be associated with him?

What happened to Rhino?

I think Samoa Joe got a beatdown right? Does that explain his absence and his return as "The Real" Samoa Joe? (I always hoped that Lesnar was gonna take that as his moniker for a while - the period after he aligned with Vince)

They turned Morgan heel. Good. I see a lot of potential in the guy as a heel.

I still hate the way Sting has been portrayed throughout the whole MEM angle. Either make him a fully fledged heel or turn him face!

"Booker T's gonna hit him with that big thrust kick"

*thrust kick*

I enjoyed that

Even if I wanted to I couldn't help but laugh at that, wish it lasted the whole show though.

There's no logical reason for it to be happening, but at least Nash and Booker made fun of it during his match.

From what I've read from guys I respect in the wrasslin' community, this was possibly the worst Impact in the history of our great sport.
