I'm usually not a big fan of posting "news" without a link. However, yesterday I was watching ESPN's weigh in show on espn.com and one of their anlaysts came on and said that Wanderlei had finally decided to drop to 185 and fight at middle weight.

1. Do you think this will save his career that's seemed to be in a spiral since Mirko almost kicked his head off?

2. Do you think his recent losses to Mirko Filopovic, Dan Henderson (@205), Chuck Liddell, and Quinton Jackson were because of a weight/strength disadvantage, or from the accumulation of so many wars that've finally caught up?

3. If/When Wanderlei Sliva decides to fight who would you like him to fight first? What are some 185lb dream matches you'd want to see from The Axe Murderer?

1. I don't think this will save his career it'll probably just slow the decline that has already started.

2. I don't think he lost to any of this last four losses because he was too small I think he lost for various reasons. Mirko beat him because he just landed a brutal head kick that would have put anyone out. Henderson won because Wanderlei has possibly taken too much damage and it caught up to him. Chuck Liddell beat him because he just faught a smarter fight and out struck him, which may be because Silva is getting older and thus slower. And with Rampage anyone would have ben put out with that shot.

3. This first fight I think they should do would be against Patrick Cote, however Cote is out for a while so that won't happen so my next choice would be to put him against someone people know in the division like Kendall Grove or someone. Some dream matches at 185 would be against Vitor Belfort in a re-match of many years ago, against Dan Henderson in their rubber match, and against Anderson Sliva if Wanderlei's drop to 185 brings back the old Wanderlei a match against The Spider would be amazing.

He'll never be champ, but he's better off at 185 than at 205. And I think his struggles have probably been a bit of both that you mentioned, he's had a lot of wars and a lot of those have been with much larger opponents (except Hendo). I think he'll still be very prone to knockout at 185 but his own power will match up better at that class.

I agree he'd never be champ especially considering Anderson Silva is a faster, stronger, more accurate and more well rounded version of a young Wanderlei Silva let alone the one we see in the UFC today. In fact the only thing that Wanderlei has over Anderson is tenasity which my very well get him knockout with such an excellent striker.

It will revitalize his career in terms of giving him new opponents, but his losses are due to the wars hes been in. They will probably try and get as much money out of him as they can and give him a nate marquart or the winner of henderson and bisbing before an imediate title shot.

Obviously i want him to fight Silva, but honestly, Silva vs GSP needs to happen now, or at the least, Silva vs Machida.

I dont care about titles anymore. MMA isnt about titles to me. Its about who's beaten who and who's the best period. I need to see these matches. I also need to see Fedor in UFC.

I personally think he should just fight Chuck. If he loses then he retires, but if he wins then they have a 3rd, and that becomes a loser leaves town match.

Anderson silva and Machida are in the same camp. So that isn't going to happen. I personally think Anderson and GSP are both one fight away from fighting each other. UFC won't be letting his contract expire without making that happen.

I personally don't like Wand's chances against anyone top flight these days.
