I'm floored by the PPV. Thank God that we got swerved! I didn't even think that Rey would be the one who would go coast to coast. I had jerhicho pegged for that. Pleasant surprises all around. I wish we woulda got the swerve from steph, but I Totally fucking marked out when edge decimated Kofi, and took the WHC!

I think the biggest rammification from this card is the fact the Orton will in all likely hood be facing H now. Which is very interesting.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

Okay, now that we have Edge bumrushing the WHC EC,and the victory for Orton, what's the possibility of Edge/Cena for the WHC, and Orton/HHH at Mania? Edge and Cena can pull off the double turn with the way Vickie punked her hubby, and Steph can still come out backing Legacy against Trips on the main show. Thoughts?

Personally - I think the following will occur.

-Orton will challenge Triple H on Smackdown (possible penis-on-penis alliance with Edge will prevent Orton from wanting to challenge Edge). I don't think the WWE will turn Orton face at this point.

-The WWE will build around the Stephanie McMahon-Randy Orton-Triple H storyline.

-CM Punk will win some kind of tournament and will be the one to face (and defeat) Edge at Wrestlemania. In the 'finals' of this tourney, I see CM Punk going over Jericho cleanly.

-I think John Cena will face Steve Austin at Mania'.

Hindu's outlook:

-Orton vs. HHH
-Edge vs. CM Punk
-John Cena vs. Steve Austin

Austin is booked to be on RAW next week....and there have been rumors that he would face Jericho.

Since Cena is a far bigger star than Jericho....and doesn't seem to be in the world title picture any longer, an Austin/Cena match is definitely feasible. I do not know if Austin has one match in him however.

Heyman
02-16-2009, 02:21 AM
We could even get Edge/HBK at this point.

Edge/HBK has been done so many times that it wouldn't really hold any interest. It's a stupid and pointless match and I really hope that WWE doesn't go that route.

It serves the WWE no purpose whatsoever if these two are fighting for the title. It serves NO purpose if HBK goes over or if Edge retains.

Hopefully - the WWE will put a guy like CM Punk in there and have him go over Edge cleanly. Before this however - they have Punk get a few clean wins over JBL, Jericho, and maybe a few others (i.e. Kane, Regal, etc.).

A CM Punk/Edge feud would serve a far greater purpose....and already has seeds planted (i.e. when Punk defeated Edge a year earlier for the title).

Heyman
02-16-2009, 02:25 AM
Edge vs Cena and Orton vs H are your most likely turn outs.

Agreed.

Orton-HHH will be awesome. Can't wait!

Cena vs. Edge is again, pointless however...and I REALLY hope the WWE doesn't go this route. Cena/Edge has been done 1,000,000,000,000 times already....and no man will be better off with a victory.

I really REALLY hope that CM Punk is the one that gets a shot against Edge.

p.s._______Since I never watch Smackdown, I also hope that Orton stays on RAW....and that HHH appears on RAW on regular/random occasions to keep the feud going.

Jericho would be the better Austin match. If Austin goes over Cena, nothing happens, and same for Cena going over Austin.

If Austin goes over Jericho, Jericho would lose a ton of heat. If Jericho goes over Austin, that would be huge for him. Now seeing that it's Austin's last match and it's in Texas, I don't know that this would happen, but who knows. Rock and Foley put over Evolution in their last Mania match.

Also, pairing Jericho with Austin leaves Cena free to work with Taker. That could make for a decent Mania match.

You make a good point, but I highly HIGHLY doubt that Austin would be willing to put over Jericho in his return match. Jericho is simply not a big enough star.

You cite Rock N' Sock as an example, but that was a tag match. One-on-one, penis-on-penis, is a different ball game.

Jericho going over Austin would hurt Austin's legacy more than it would do good for Jericho....especially when you consider the fact that Jericho will never be the #1 guy in the company.

If Cena went over Austin, it would also add to Cena's star power and credibility...while not making Austin look too bad. If Austin beat Cena in Texas, then the WWE could use that to turn Cena heel or something....and then have him beat Austin in a return match.

Anyway - that's just my take on it.

Jericho should NOT be the guy to beat Austin...or face Austin at Mania.

Orton and Cena are the only two guys worthy enough to face Austin IMO....and Orton's booked. ;)

I hope the WWE aren't stupid enough to go with Cena or HBK vs. Edge. It would be a tremendous waste.

I can see HBK starting a program with either Undertaker....or reviving his stuff with Jericho. It's been awhile now since HBK/Jericho feuded. Maybe they can bring it up again? At the very least, the fans will get an excellent match. HBK & Jericho could also be used in a MITB match with some other contestants.

I wonder if a part of the WWE's motivation for moving Edge to RAW, was so that he can put over CM Punk? Those guys definitely have seeds planted from last year. I also suspect that Edge was moved due to the fact that he did NOT want to play 2nd fiddle to HHH on SD.

With Edge heading over to RAW, I wonder if/when Christian will show.

As I said, I don't know if Austin would put over Jericho. Personally, I don't think there is any point in him coming back for a last match if it's going to be with Cena. Of course it would add to Cena's list of accomplishments, but a list of accomplishments has never been Cena's problem, has it? In fact, you cited Hogan v. Rock at Mania. One of the things people went on to say about that match is how Hogan should have gone over because of the crowd switch. With Austin v. Cena, there wouldn't BE a crowd switch. It would be Austin from bell to bell. A Cena victory would just make people continue to hate Cena. And of course, they could parlay that into a Cena heel turn. But we've been saying that for how long now?

Austin gets nothing out of returning to face Cena. He doesn't face a current Rock or a modern day Stone Cold. I think actually only a heel would benefit from going over Austin.

Heyman

All good points. Here is what *I* personally had in mind however:

-Cena and Austin (on paper) is face vs. face, but Cena gets boo'd out of the building (as expected).

-After a quick start by Austin...feeding off the adrenaline, Cena slowly starts to control the match...much to the fans chagrin. Cena is about to finish Austin off, when Austin hits a stunner out of nowhere for the victory (or if you want, have Austin win with a roll-up....similar to how HBK beat HHH at Summerslam 02').

-After the match, Cena FINALLY explodes at the fans and openly vents his disdain for the fans shitting on him. Maybe even after the match, Cena attacks Austin and beats the fuck out of him.

-A month later at Backlash, Cena (who is now a full heel) faces Austin...and beats him cleanly.

If it was up to me, that is how I would do it.

The idea of Edge turning face is just ridiculous, at this point. He got into the match by beating down a guy who never hurt anybody, and slimed his way to his eighth World Title victory.

John Cena getting eliminated as quickly as he did was the most shocking thing about the match. Figured it would come between Cena and Edge, with Edge doing something heelishly cool to win the title, setting up a match between the two for WrestleMania. I mean, it's just hard not to see Cena in the World Heavyweight Title match at Mania, unless he's working with Stone Cold Steve Austin, or something.

On the topic of Austin, I do think that he would put Jericho over. He's been a fan of his for years, and Jericho is only getting better and better. Putting Jericho over would be a great nudge for him. But wasn't it implied that Jericho was challenging Ric Flair?

The way that Edge worked with Rey Mysterio -- and the way Edge attacking Kofi really got to Rey -- seems like it could be to set-up an Edge vs. Rey feud over the World Title. I know people don't see Rey as a credible main eventer, or whatever, but maybe the WWE feels guilty about the way they mishandled him in 2006? He's got such good chemistry with Edge, and the fans would be definitely behind Rey. Is it too insane to suggest that the WWE might run Edge vs. Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Title?

I think if the WWE had plans to do Edge vs. CM Punk, they would have had CM Punk come out to check on his former tag team partner at No Way Out, after he had been attacked by Edge. Something like that could have served as a foreshadowing, but they instead used it to further tension between Edge and Rey Mysterio, instead.

Austin will come out to "defend the honor" of Ric Flair.

Mr. Nerfect
02-16-2009, 07:21 AM
One of the biggest shake-ups this causes, is that it means Randy Orton goes to SmackDown!, and we get Triple H vs. Orton for the WWE Title. But where does that leave Legacy? Granted, they weren't really making an impact as a group, and it seems that Orton's solo growth is overshadowing the group as a movement, but what will Rhodes & DiBiase do after this?

What of Edge and Vickie Guerrero's relationship? Is it possible that Stephanie McMahon will haunt Orton, follow him over to SmackDown!, and replace Vickie as the General Manager there? That would allow Vickie to go to RAW.

And the most important questions of all: Will Chavo Guerrero still be Edge's goon on RAW? And when can we expect Edge vs. Kofi Kingston for the World Heavyweight Title. That would actually be a fun match, and you know it.

I don't want to get ahead of myself here, but it's hard not to get a bit excited about all the swerves they've been throwing at us lately. I feel like a total mark, but fuck it. I think the WWE has finally learned not to shove characters down our throat and force feed us the stars they were manufacturing instead of stars the crowds are cheering for.

I like the way that they've built Edge over the past few years. He genuinely comes across as a man who would do anything to win a World Title, regardless of who is in his way.
Edge is one of the very few things WWE has being doing right.

Edge is going to end up like Triple H. He is an amazing heel, who can have great runs as a babyface and then turn heel and be hated even more.

Is it possible to keep titles off of Edge?

why? Edge as champion is all kinds of awesomeness

I'm not saying I don't like Edge as champion, it is more of a rhetoical question. I kinda like the idea of a heel has so many connections that he can get inserted into title matches at a drop of a hat. Keeps things interesting. Plus it is nice to see someone that doesn't waste title shots. I think Edge has a pretty good win lose record on title shots.

Yeah. Edge is the best thing on WWE. He has the best matches and is the best outside the ring as well.

I am really hyped up for Raw tonight. they could make Mania 4 hours of the back of last night if they do good things tonight.

Calling it now.

HHH got tired of working Tuesdays. If you are wondering what I mean, HHH and Edge will be traded (Putting Edge back on Smackdown!).

Do you mean Cena, Ruien?

Heyman, I don't think Austin can trust Cena to help carry him through a match. If anything, it'll be Jericho.

No, I mean HHH for Edge. Edge is on the Raw brand now (Since he has the Raw title), therefore Vickie gets her man back by trading the guy with the Smackdown! title (HHH).

Damn that was an awesome show. Well worth getting no sleep for.

Other than the ECW match, everything else was great.

I see Triple H heading back to Raw to join Steph, taking on Orton at Mania and Edge staying on Smackdown to fight whoever. That seems the most logical progression from over here.

Main Event for the House show for Augusta, GA:

Jeff Hardy & Undertaker
vs.
Matt Hardy & Edge

Take that for what it's worth.

Side note I see 'Taker vs. Big Show (possibly Show going over)
HHH vs. Orton
Edge vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
JBL vs. Shawn Micheals blowoff match
John Cena vs. Kozlov (hell, I don't know, or want to see it.)

Honestly, this is what I want to see.

HHH vs Orton
Edge vs Cena
Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy
HBK vs Taker
Christian Vs Jack Swagger
MITB with MVP winning it
Jericho vs Austin
Miz and Morrison vs Whoever the other tag team champions are in a title unification match.
Beth Phoenix vs Trish Stratus.

Make it happen

Vickie gets Edge back by trading Triple-H to RAW.
I see Randy Orton vs. Triple-H
Edge vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker
Money In The Bank Ladder Match
John Cena vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Replace Cena with Jericho and put Cena in a match against Batista and that's pretty much what I'm thinking too.

Orton winning was the only thing I'm happy about.

But the action that went down in the chambers took me by surprise as I was just reading in the No Way Out. thread.

I wonder who was the mastermind behind that series of events?

I really don't wanna see HHH/Orton or Cena/Edge again.

I was looking forward to a HHH v Edge programme. That match up is much fresher.

Yeah, I'm pretty against an Orton/HHH main event... but I'm also not so excited about an Orton/Cena main event. Hard to choose a suicide weapon between the knife and the saw. Whatever happened to Punk being a main eventer? Why can't it be Punk vs. Triple H? These are the same combos we've been seeing for the past 3 years, people.
