His lady troubles continue...
http://www.wrestleview.com/news2004/1080347857.shtml
- According to San Antonio, Texas' KSAT channel 12 station, WWE star Steve Austin was arrested earlier today on assault charges stemming from a domestic dispute with his current girlfriend. Austin's girlfriend, who wasn't identified in the story, told police that she suffered injuries to her hands and knees when she was reportedly pushed down during an argument in Austin's home.
The report also states that Austin is no longer under probation from his earlier domestic case with ex-wife Debra Williams. The newscast added that further details would be available later tonight.
Austin is currently scheduled for an autograph session tomorrow afternoon in Secaucus, New Jersey. There is no word right now on how this recent arrest will affect him from making the appearance tomorrow.

He really ought to give up. He admits it himself... he's terrible with women.
And somewhere, Loopydate is celebrating because this might put Austin off the air.

Wow, this is a shame. He really needs to quit doing this. We've seen enough ex-wreslters end up in bad situations or dig themselves into shi</>t holes. It would really bite to see a great like Steve Austin go down for something like this. I feel sorry for the guy. I'm not condoning what he did, but I'm not damning him for it either, he clearly needs some sort of help.

Get help now, Steve. I may loathe your character (and you're right, Corky, I did dance an internal jig when I learned that he may be off TV for a while), but there's hope for us all (unless you live in the Middle East and "messed with Texas"), and you deserve the chance to set yourself straight.
But, for God's sake, ladies. Don't date Steve Austin!
This arrest sure doesn't go well with his sheriff gimmick.
When is that guy going to stop? He beat up Debra, and got jail and a divorce for that. Now he's still beating up woman. Was he under the influence of alcohol when he pushed down the woman, or is he just a plain jerk, or as VonErich says, scum? This sure made me lose my respect for Austin. He needs to cool it, stop bullying people around. Maybe the sheriff gimmick got to his head. And all the beer he's drinking day in, day out doesn't really help his temper...

I can't believe that this stupid bastard Austin did it again. It was sick enough when he did it to Debora and then fled like a coward only to have the police go easy on him since he's a stone cold. Women may not be like men, they deal with conflict in a more verbal mannor then we do and can sometimes be hard to deal with, as any man or women can. But no one has no right to harm another human being for any reason, woman, or man. I hope he goes to Jail for a little while so He can learn the diffrent between the wrestling world, and the real world.

He didn't get arrested. He just got questioned.
It seems as though you people take this too far. He's a ****ing wrestler people. When you work and live to fight and then get in an argument it's just reflects to do what you usually do. Understood, no woman should be beaten, but this isn't as bad as what he did to Debra and it's not like she didn't go into the relationship not knowing what happened. She took the chance and got pushed. Go figure. I support him.

You know, in light of the fact that Austin has not been arrested and the alleged victim is proving "reluctant to press charges," I feel the need to retell a story I mentioned when the Austin/Debra thing happened originally.
Back on New Years of 1974 (long before I was ever even thought up,) my dad had a lot to drink and nailed my mom in the face, causing serious blood loss and requiring stitches. Upon hearing this, some of you people on these boards would immediately label my father a violent, drunken wife-beater and that would be that in your minds.
The true story goes thusly: My mom and dad were at a New Years' party at his parents' house. He had a hell of a lot to drink and fell asleep on the couch. At about two in the morning my mother had had enough and wanted to go. In an attempt to rouse my father, she shook him rather hard. Still a bit lit up and startled out of sleep, he shot bolt upright and threw his arms out, accidentally catching my mother in the forehead with his ring which caused the cut. Upon hearing my mother scream, my grandmother entered the room to find my mother bleeding with my obviously sauced father standing right there, and drawing the same conclusion most of you probably would have if you'd read my initial account of the incident and nothing more.
Point: We have no idea of the full details of either Austin incident. For all we know, in either or both of these cases Austin reacted in a completely innocent manner that caused the incidents. As Austin was not convicted of the first charge and no more than questioned of the second, to declare Austin guilty until proven innocent as I have said is an offense to a fundamental right of every human being.
Vastardikai
03-28-2004, 01:29 AM
I am going to catch hell for thinking this, but I'm going to play devil's advocate here:
I don't know the whole situation, maybe he is the asshole everyone has convicted him of without a trial. But maybe, just maybe, he's not guilty in this instance.
For all we know, the bruises may have actually been rug burns from her having sex with the mail man on the living room floor.
The fact is, we need more information before we jump to conclusions...

Seriously. Coldwaver is saying "innocent unless proven guilty," when you were already defending his actions as though he was guilty.
How is it better to defend a guy in guilty terms than to assume his guilt and condemn him?
I never said she brought it on herself. I said she knew of his history and what he had gone through. I'm not implying that by being with him she was going to get beaten.
Well I guess I didn't put it the right words then. Sorry to confuse you or anyone who took it that way.

Austin, as some of you might know, is actually a little deaf, an effect from listening to really loud rock music when he was a teen. As a result, sometimes when he talks to people, he really has to go "What?" a few times to get them to speak louder. Of course, other people sometimes think he's just being obnoxious.
My sources tell me that the woman was attempt to give Steve a list of chores to do around the house, but he couldn't hear her. He asked "What?" a few times and his girldfriend was forced to repeat herself until she was finally exasperated and shouted "Are you deaf, you stupid bitch?" Steven, hearing only the "deaf stupid bitch" part threw up his hands in exasperation. The spontaneous action caught the woman in the chest, pushing her backwards onto the floor, where she suffered injuries to her hands and knees.
This would have been perfectly innocent, except that out of habit, seeing someone on the floor, Austin got down on all fours and started growling nonsensical gibberish at his fallen girlfriend.
Like how he would taunt someone lying on the floor after a Stunner?
Almost funny, Corkscrewed. Almost.
I think that there are quite a few people on this board who need to take a vicodin and relax for a minute. Maybe we should wait to find out the whole story before voting to hunt down Austin and lynch him. It's possible that Austin is innocent. It's also entirely possible that Austin is a drunken woman beating idiot. But none of us was there, so none of us knows what really happened.

The Smoking Gun just came out with a report on the incident.
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0329041austin1.html
MARCH 29--Wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin (real name: Steven Williams) allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a dispute last week at the grappler's Texas home, according to this San Antonio Police Department report. Tess Broussard, 37, told cops Friday that she met with the athlete to discuss the couple's troubled year-long relationship. But Williams (referred to in the report as "SP," for suspect) became irritable and yelled at Broussard, "I'm tired of talking about this shit. Shut up!" Broussard (referred to as "C," for complainant) claimed that Williams then grabbed her, and she began struggling with the 6' 3" wrestler, who eventually threw her to the ground. Broussard landed on her hands and knees, and later told officers she had injured her right hand. Broussard provided a written statement to cops, who photographed her injuries and are now investigating the incident. This is not the first time the belligerent 39-year-old World Wrestling Entertainment star has been accused of injuring a woman outside the ring. In November 2002, Williams pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of assault for striking his then-wife during an argument. He was fined $1000, sentenced to a year's probation, and ordered to perform 80 hours of community service and attend a domestic violence counseling course.
