Yeah, I just had a shitty experience ordering what I thought was an HDMI cable that would work with the regular, white, 360...but I was wrong. So, now I have an HDMI cable for the 360 Elite (apparently). What I should have done is found a VGA cable for it, as my TV supports vga input.

Where online did you get yours through?

You are confusing me. You bought a HDMI cable for your 360 which does not have a HDMI port? Why would you do that without checking first?

Elites are not the only 360's which have HDMI ports. You probably have an older model, as all of them are being shipped with them now.

I think he says his TV doesn't have HDMI.

No, the TV has an HDMI slot. I have a DVD player hooked up there that upconverts to 1080i. It was the 360 that didn't have one. I bought it refurbished last May. Gamestop and Best Buy wanted $51 while I got it on ebay for $7 plus shipping. I'll just resell it, though.

I thought I saw that in a 360 Starter Kit at Best Buy. It included an Intercool Cooling fan, rechargeable Battery Pack and cord, and an HDMI cable. I didn't get it because I had the component cables that I got with the 360, which give me an awesome picture now. I just wanted the HDMI cable.

I bought a Dynex 26" LCD, which was rather dirt cheap. I only got it because my current entertainment center couldn't hold anything wider than that and my wife was dead set against getting rid of it jus so I could get a bigger TV. The 32" model I was looking at was marked down to about $50 more than what I payed for the 26".

HDMI on the xbox 360 doesn't really make any difference over RGB.
I use Component (at 1080p supposedly) on my 46" LCD and it looks fine.

Someone at Gamestop told me this as well, so I might just listen to y'all and save myself the trouble. I have the component set to 1080i and it does look nice. I wasn't positive just what the improvement would be with HDMI as most of my friends are either happy with their component cables or the don't have an HDTV and it wouldn't matter.

Thanks man:)

This is where I got that useless HDMI cable from as well. I'll have my wife neg rep the fuck, as she's involved in like 30 or so auctions there. She's got this obsession with postage stamps now.

All of them? Even the Arcade? Because my XBox is on its way out, and I would like the HDMI port with the next one, at the cheapest option.

Yes, even the Arcade now has an HDMI port.

Yeah, HDMI isn't really necessary for 360. Component looks fantastic on a 1080p tv.

yeah, I wasn't totally clear on the differences/similarities between the two, to be honest. I know when I bought my LCD, I did ask about it. The salesperson said that HDMI would give you the best possible picture and the 360 would look great. I think this was his selling ploy, even though I was already sold on the $349 price tag.

I should have just spent the money on another Gold card, as mine runs out in April or May.
