This is absolutely epic. And also somewhat saddening. I hope to god that the show doesn't get lamed down when it's on before midnight.

I'm hoping the same thing...
I also really want to know if Joel is going with him.
I'm also really sad that Abe probably won't be on anymore :(

I was thrilled to find out that Max and the band were going, and also a lot of the writers. I heard that everyone got the option of relocating to LA, but I've seen no word on if Joel chose to go or not.

I'm pretty upset I missed this

I have been making a point to remember it for the past couple weeks. I made a mental note everytime I watched, which is pretty regularly.
Then I just forgot.
I suppose it will be online. Is there going to be some kind of special on Monday to mark the changing of Tonight Show hosts?

It actually was mostly clips from old shows and the obligatory emotional speech from Conan. Jay's last show is actually next Friday - Conan and co are gonna need the week to get adjusted to the west coast and whatnot.

I heard from a friend they put the Masturbating Bear in carbonite this past week. Brilliant. Which night was that? I want to check out the episode online.

Conan doesn't start on the Tonight Show until June 1st.

Right, Jay's last show is the end of MAY, which is certainly not February. I may be slightly retarded.
Also, I think they froze the bear in carbonite on Tuesday?
They did a "Best Of" clip for Joel the other night, so sadly, I think he wont be making the trek out west.

That's unfortunate. I also had to miss it. Conan O'Brien is one of the few comedic geniuses out there. I'm glad he's taking over from Leno, and he will do a kick-ass job.
Putting the Masturbating Bear in carbonite is brilliant.

Jimmy Fallon has much bigger shoes to fill than Conan does.
I have a feeling we'll see the Masturbating Bear again, only this time he will be "Bear looking for his keys"

I don't know, I think Conan might be ballsy enough to do the Masturbating Bear. I mean, when's he on? 11 o'clock? That ain't that early.

It's not that I think they aren't ballsy enough to show the usual content. I think it's a change of style. I think they'll definitely tone down the humor and the absurdity. Not because it's offensive or too edgey, but because a lot of the older and more traditional tonight show crowd just won't understand it.
The Fed Ex pope, a raccoon with a jetpack, and things of that nature just don't make a lot of sense to some people. His material is brilliant, but it's unconventional and I think funny headlines and talking photo booths are more up the alley of viewers.
I think that's a sad state of affairs, but a state of affairs nonetheless.

I just watched the masturbating bear go into carbonite. Hilarious
I hope Fred Willard stays on the Tonight Show though. The man is a genius.

That was my concern too. I really want Joel to go. Oddly enough, they didn't show him on the last show either. I guess we won't know for sure until June...
Also, Conan did a bit about how the Masturbating Bear wouldn't be on the Tonight Show, but there were introducing a new character, the Bear frantically searching for his ringing cellphone...
The last show just ended here. Gotta say, I'm a little sad. End of an era :'(

I don't think he is gonna tone it down that much. Leno will still be on before him so Leno's audience will still watch Leno and Conan's audience will watch Conan.

And the four people who thought he was funny on SNL will watch Jimmy Fallon.

Also Andy Richter is going to be the new Tonight Show announcer.

Is Andy Richter really returning? That will be awesome even though I'll miss Joel

That is pretty awesome. Andy is really talented, and even though he finds work, he's never really "broken through." Being part of The Tonight Show will do him some good.
I will miss Joel, though.
