This show is better than I thought it would be. In fact, it's pretty spectacular so far. I watched the miniseries, and I just finished the first season.

The acting in this show is superb, and the writing is pretty great. Really didn't think I would like this show at all when watching the first episode. I watched it, didn't have a clue what was going on, and then found out the miniseries told what was happening. So, I watched it, decided it wasn't that bad and kept watching.

Now though, I am hooked. I have been in a sci-fi mood lately, what with completing Mass Effect and wanting more, so this show was just what I needed.

The ending to season 1 was incredible, and I hope the show continues to be good the rest of the way through.

Anyone else watch this show?

Yes, it is quite good.

Unfortunately the second half of Season 3 and first half of Season 4 are rather lackluster in comparison to the first 2 and 1/2 seasons. However Season 4 Part 2 (final season and which is currently airing) is pretty kick ass.

All in all a good show and wish it wasn't ending. :y:

The main thing that surprised me about this show is the acting. I honestly thought it would be really cheaply made, and that the actors would be horrible because of it. It is very good though, and the story is very engaging.

Yeah it gets wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. S2 is phenomenal. And at the moment barring a weak episode here or there they seem to be finishing out on a terrific run.

I started watching it about 2 months ago, I d/l seasons 1 and 2 and that got me hooked, I'm now upto date whith the current season (5). It';s quite possibly my favourite sci fi series now.

I liked the first half of series 4.

I haven't seen the second half yet of series 4 (series 5), as I am waiting until it is released on DVD in June, but I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah I considered making a topic ages ago since a friend told me to watch it months ago. Only 3 episodes left.

Fantastic show, took me a bit to get into it when it first came on (since I missed the original mini-series) but I absolutely adore it now.

I was never a huge fan of the old series, but I really love how they've taken the same basic concept and made it work way more convincingly.

Only 4 more episodes to air in the UK, plus The Plan TV movie. :(

Fucking serious right now. Last Friday's episode really caught everyone off guard.

Also, it needs more Mark Shepard. Love this guy but he found his home on Leverage, and he's probably all done.

I love the show, but I kinda lost interest after the big reveal about Earth. I feel like they blew their load too early, and now don't really have any direction until the show winds down.

I think either:

A. They the Human/Cylon alliance goes into an all or nothing battle with Dean Stockwell for Hera.

B. They find a habitable planet and Sackhoff fucks them all over somehow. Like they Hybrid(s) say.

You're looking at it too literally IMO. Starbuck is the first human/cylon child born - "leading humanity to its end" more than likely means that eventually both races will become one, so there will be no more 'pure' humans

Well, that would be that, apparently. I'm still kinda iffy on the ending (I felt the third act in particular dragged a good bit), but overall I'm satisfied.

I cried twice, and Baltar's last emotional line caught me way off guard, and might be my favorite moment in the series. Very very touching on so many levels.

I'll have to sit on it for a bit to think about things they might have left open, but I think they did a fairly good job with putting a period on everything.

Held back a lot of tears last night. And more than just "the truth" got answered. I hope alot of the cast shows up in some new shows or movies. If this show doesn't up their stock, I don't know what does.

However, only one or two things got left open. But then again I just might have missed it.

Good ending. :y:

I will miss this show.

It's not over quite yet. Did you catch the preview for "The Plan"?

Requiem

Yeah, isn't there one more season left?

ClockShot

Nope. Last night was it. "The Plan" is a 2-hour movie coming up in the fall about what made the Cylons think up nuking the 12 colonies. I think E.J.O. is directing, but I'm not sure for certain.

However, they showed a preview of Caprica last night. However, I think it ain't gonna reach the bar this show set.

In this "The Plan" episode, i'd like to see the cyclon homeworld. We never saw it in the series (unless for some reason it appeared in the final 10 episodes, in which case don't tell me).

Mr. Monday Morning

The bit with Starbuck and the FTL was one of the best bits of TV I can remember seeing.

They left one or two things open to interpretation. For me they maybe wrapped things up a little too neatly - but it was still very good.

With this gone and having recently gone through The Wire in 6 weeks I've got nothing left to watch :(

Amazing.

I've been ignoring everything BSG related until I got time to watch the final episode. I was expecting to see the ominious shadow of a base ship in the final scenes, but a great way to end none the less.

I guess Tom Cruise has been right all along...

Finally finished the final series. It was some epic shit. I never saw what was coming in terms of what Hera was, except being the hope for the human/cylon race. Least we finally found out what the Six in Baltar's head was.

I'm going to miss it.

Hopefully Caprica will be able to be as engrossing as BG, even though I doubt it will be able to match it.

turns out theyre doing another 2 plan movies, and caprica should be starting soon.

If youve not seen the Pilot for Caprica then I suggest you "aquire" it. Its well good.

So I just finished Battlestar. Unbelievable show. A little disappointed with the finish. This song is haunting:

Better late than never.

It seems Syfy are trying for another Battlestar Galactica spin-off, with the backdoor pilot, "Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome". Will be set during the first Cyon War or something. Basically, Syfy are doing what they know will sell: space battles!

I still haven't watched the one and only Caprica season. Need to wait until the second half is released.

ClockShot

Yeah. Caprica got axed. So they're gonna try again with Blood and Chrome. Pretty much the story of a young Bill Adama in officer training or assigned to a ship. Something along those plot lines.

Hated the fact that Starbuck just disappeared at the end, and Lee was just like "goodbye". Pretty much loved everything else about the finale, that one scene just really bugs me.

Nowhere Man

I absolutely love the hell out of BSG, but the finale was a bit odd. I didn't dislike it, and there's a lot of really kickass action to send off the show, but it just left me with a feeling of ".....huh."

That being said, everything leading up to it is frakking sweet.

BSG is amazing, I downloaded the first episode out of curiosity in 2009 and subsequently watched the entire series in a couple of weeks, then went out and bought all the DVDs and watched it all over again.

I'm waiting for a good deal on the blu-rays and then I'll probably end up buying it all over again. :) Tricia Helfer in HD is kind of a must buy really.

I wish they made it into a game, kind of like the old-school Wing Commander games where you advance in the classes as a Viper pilot.
