The Macho King has been dethroned, but without putting up one hell of a struggle. Can Mr. Perfect acheive Perfection? this is his second time running as the reining champion, lets see if he has what it takes to make it threw this gauntlet...

Perfect wins out Page.

I would like to say DDP is massivley underrated on these boards, but Perfect in my mind is supirior. Perfect's technical prowless was amazing. His highspots were amazing. His psycology was amazing. DDP while solid in most of the departments (save technique) is out shinned by Perfect. The only department DDP excels beyond Prefect in is his Mic work.
With said Curt Hennig wins out for me.

Hmmm... this is a really good match and I really like both of these guys.
I'm going to go ahead and give my vote to DDP, because Mr. Perfect never teamed up with Karl Malone AND Jay Leno. My reason is soundproof.
Mr. Perfect. Even as a WWF mark during the 90's, I can't say I was never entertained by DDP though.

I think that should be a reason to vote against DDP.

Def Curt, there are two maybe three guys I would vote over him and one is already in the HOF (Angle). He was incredible at everything he did and he made everyone he faced look golden.

I can't see Page beating Hennig. I'm going to vote Page though because he seemed to be the coolest guy on the planet and was horribly used in the WWE.

I'm going to have to go Perfect. DDP was entertaining during his run in WCW, but Perfect was hands down the better wrestler.

Wow, for a guy who 'never held the strap' Henning was a great in my mind. I loved watching him go.
DDP was fun and he was hot for a while, but Perfect sustained. Technically, there were very few better.

Like last time, this is the case of one wrestler being great, but Hennig being even greater. The guy was just so smooth in the ring and made everything look phenomenal.

I mean the guy's finisher was a suplex and he made it look like a legitimate finisher.

I'm taking DDP, because him and Nash (and Hall when he was on) were the only guys I would watch WCW for. I didn't mind watching Helms and some other guys, but DDP and Nash were the guys I watched for.

Also it should be noted that Hennig grew up wrestling, DDP didn't start till he was 35 and many times was carrying the WCW mainevents.

Gotta go with Hennig. DDP was really good and has one of the best finishers of all time, but Hennig was an absolute master inside the ring. I'm pretty sure Perfect could have pulled a 5 star match out of a 10 pound sack of potatoes.

DDP pulled out watchable matches with 3 200 pound sacks of shit. Or atleast of out Carl Malone, Hogan, and Dennis Rodman.

DDP was a workhorse of the WCW main event...cause everyone sucked. Looking back at it thanks to WWE 24/7...he's ok
But Perfect is Perfect. This is no contest.

I loved watching Page and would vote for him over 95% of everyone else, but this is Mr. Perfect. His matches with Bret for the IC/KOTR title are some of my favorite of all time. Page was awesome and all and the Diamond Cutter could make you come out of the chair when he pulled it out of nowhere, but some of Henning's matches did that from the beginning.

DDP had a hot wife and was better on the mic. But anybody could have been inserted into his main event status and gotten the reception he did. Mr. Perfect created his own legacy (Legacy). Gotta go with Henning, but barely.

I'm going to have to go with Perfect with this one. While Page entertained me a little, I was captivated by Hennigs charisma, be it as a colour commentator, a mouthpiece or in one of his own promos.
Where he came into his own though, was in the ring. Man, he could go. I started watching wrestling late '92, and my overriding memory was his King of the Ring match with Bret Hart, which was amazing. They told a proper story together.
I'm just proud to be able to say that I got to see him perform in person.

Not true about inserted into the mainevent. Billy Gunn was inserted into the main event against Rock and fizzled. DDP held his own.

I meant DDP's role, not just any main eventer. Turning on nWo can put anyone over.

I dunno about that. It wasn't just turning on Hall and Nash. It was the suddeness of the Diamond Cutter and the dash into the crowd where he appeared to naturally blend in with the fans. That's what got him over and made him the People's Champ. Another wrestler could have made it work, but not nearly as well.

I'm not bashing DDP. I loved him. But I just think his spot made him a better wrestler.

I know that Mr Perfect is the better wrestler, but since DDP is such a close second, I gave him the vote to make it seem like less of a white wash.

I disagree. You need a certain level of charisma, I think that is could have worked with a few guys, but not anyone.
Mr. Perfect. I like/respect DDP but Hennig wins every category

I think some of you are underestimating Curt's mic work. He also had one of the best themes of all time. Curt was also around a lot longer than DDP. Curt took Bobby Duncam Jr. and the continually repackaged asspirate Vincent, and forming a cowboy wrestling group. Big props on that one. I will always remember rap is crap. Maybe in the ring DDP could make someone look good. Outside the ring people were elevated just for being associated with Curt Hennig.

Was always a massive DDP fan. Loved his ring work and mic work. Love the diamond cutter. Shame he wasn't used a lot better in WWE. My vote goes to him.

Mr. Perfect is by far one of greatest to ever live, and its a shame I haven't seen more of his work, but from what I saw he really was a special and gifted performer.
But for me DDP was the goods for a long time. I was really into the character, appreciated his in ring work, and thought it was an absolute crime how he was handled in the E.
Since I can tell already this is probably a route, I am going to go with the heart instead of the brian on this one. DDP gets the vote.

DDP was the peoples champ. The pop he got when he reversed the jackhammer into a diamond cutter, they do not exist anymore. Figuring this was the first round, I almost auto voted for Mr. Perfect. But when DDP was the other choice, it was a quick and easy choice for myself. He made me watch WCW, no one else. After his segment/match was over, the channel would be turned.

Curt Henning is the man. While i have enjoyed DDP he is nowhere near cool enough to be the better wrestler then Mr. Perfect. Hopefully his son will live up to his expectations.
Mr Perfect all the way until someone better pops up.

:y: I would love to do that too, but as much as I have good memories of watching DDP, I have even better memories of Mr. Perfect, so despite Macho Man's loss, I'm gonna have to support Mr. Perfect.
Some great moments in DDP Nitro history, but I also gotta give it to Perfect cuz of theme music. As much as DDP's music suited him and worked really well, I can never like that song, lol.

I love me a great heel who can outsmart his opponents, and Mr. Perfect was great at that. And he was the better in ring wrestler. But DDP managed to draw your eyes to the screen as soon as his music hit, always wondered what would happen with him. Got to pick DDP for some reason.

Hennig is in one of my top 5 favourite matches of all time.
DDP isn't.
He got over in WCW when their product was failing, and the rest of top card roster were too old, too high or just shite. It's not that impressive, and given the decline in the company when he was a top star, not that effective either.
His WWE run spoke volumes for me. He went to Vince with that really terrible stalker angle, which from all I have read, Vince allowed because he drew a good reaction in WCW with angles he proposed himself, and then the reveal was badly written, and just as poorly executed. He sealed his own fate with that. Because had he come in like a fresh force to be reckoned with, I have no doubt he would have had a much more successful tenure with WWE.

I was never impressed with DDP, but I'm guessing it's because I only used to watch the first hour of Nitro until Raw came on. I didn't even flip back during commercials. What I remember from DDP was mostly a hot wife and some so-so matches.
Mr. Perfect is an icon from my child hood and one of the best heels I can remember. I've seen a bunch of great matches with him as well, so this was a really easy vote for me in his favor.

Not that impressive, terrific. He made people shoot out of their seats to see him, everyone in America knew the Diamond Cutter, before he even won the world title.
I voted for Hennig and that's still silly.

This is a close one, but I got to go with Page. He was the total package, good ring skills, amazing on the mic, and for an older guy he had a gr8 look. Remember page started in wrestling at 30 years old, but he had amazing charisma. It's too bad WWE misused him how they did, he easily could of been a main event draw in any promotion he worked.

Hennig was a better in-ring tactician. DDP did have his moments, however Perfect was just that. Personally I think that Hennig would (I can't belive I'm quoting Ready to Rumble) kick his leathry ass.
