So it's back

Two episodes have aired so far, and it is shaping up to be an awesome season. I have to say, as always, Ray Wise has been fucking sensational in both episodes so far. Like he has just been standout good. Sam's been confirmed as the son of the devil, although I liked the twist that he's one of a bunch of kids, and he is not as unique or special as he thought. I am really digging where they're going with the addition of Alan. It seems like he will be a really interesting character. Sock's step-sister Kristen has provided excellent story substance for him even in the space of the first two episodes, since Josie seems to have disappeared completely. Same with Ben's ladyfriend Cassidy. Wasn't she all excited that he was gonna get out of prison (in eight days) and things were fine? Then we never saw her again, and now he's all lovin' it up with a demon instead. Weird.

Things I hope they touch on in the next few episodes (or at least during the season):

- The whereabouts and nature of Mr. Oliver, since he survived being buried alive (and how Mrs Oliver knew where he would be)
- As a side to that, did Sam's brother ever find out that Mr. Oliver had "died"? How would it be explained to him that he's not actually dead? In fact, I don't really think we've even seen the brother since like, the second episode. Not that it's a problem, since he was kind of an unnecessary character anyway.
- Where's Tony? Is he still involved with the rebellion? Been a few random demons pop up trying to off Sammy but so far Tony's been a no-show. One would think he's more on Sam's side again after seeing Steve as an angel at the end of last season.
- Cady. It was never really clarified why she had those seemingly devil-esque powers but appeared normal through the glasses which reveal true evil, although if she's one of the devil's kids, it might be a similar thing to Sam in that he is not really "evil" despite his relation to Satan. But that would be messed up if they are paternal half-siblings.

Also, I hope Ted is not gone for good. He is one of the most hilarious characters in the show.

Anyway. Is anyone else still watching this? Because it's awesome. And if you're not, you should be.

Just spreading the love my man. I thought it took a few episodes to find its feet too, but it's totally worth it IMO. Fantastic show, can't believe it hasn't begun airing over here yet. So lame. Australian TV sucks.

Anyway, new eps get put up every Wednesday (for us, since it airs on Tuesday nights in the States and the torrents seem to appear like 8-12 hours later), so stay tuned.

Gonna be such a good season. Hope they get renewed for a third, as long as the story is still solid. Nothing worse than a concept that gets dragged out longer than its shelf life.

Sock is hilarious. Although Ben has totally come into his own since the sham-green card marriage story. I dunno, the entire supporting cast is great. Like I said before, I hope Ted is not gone for good, because he is amazing. :(

It's no worse than a lot of shows out there. I only ever watched the first 7-8 eps, not really a fan of monster of the week type stuff

It went beyond Monster of the Week probably around the time you stopped watching. They spent less and less time dealing with the souls and more on the bigger picture about the whys and wherefores of Sam's parents' deal with Satan, and an underground rebellion of demons trying to overthrow him, etc. It was a decent show that got awesome in the second half of the first season.

You offer no justification at all except a slew of insults over it. Why do you think it's so terrible? Don't just sit there and try and get a rise out of us because you're "not meaning to be an asshole". I even admitted the show took a few episodes to really come into it's own; ie the first 2-3 episodes were good but not amazing. But seriously, by the end of the first season, I was in love with this show. So why is it a piece of shit to you, Mr. allknowing industry insider Jonathon Kano III?

OK lol you want a reason, and I will give it to you, but it will be done at another time, possibly tomorrow because I am about to get into bed.

So I accept you 'expand to be recognised and understood' proposal. But in turn, accept that at no point have I, or will assume I am allknowing on anything. I never said that at all. And also accept that people have opinions, and they are not solely expressed to 'get a rise out of you', in fact they have sweet fuck all to do with you. Its to do with them and what they are talking about.

Good day sir, and return with more, I shall.

Bear in mind, of course, that your opinions will forever be juxtaposed against the fact that you thought a GTA movie would be a good idea, and will be judged accordingly.

2 weeks later...

You had your chance. You couldn't justify your opinion and as such you shall remain branded as a shit-stirrer.

Anyway, this season is getting better every episode. Few points as at the conclusion of episode 5:

I really dig Morgan's character. He is a nice juxtaposition against Sam of what a "typical" son of the Devil would be like. Super slick, smooth-talking evil guy. I feel like I know the actor from something, and I'm sure I could IMDb it but whatever.

Tony !

and Ted !

LOL @ zombie Mr Oliver. Just feel bad for him. :'(

Plus, they finally explained why Cassidy isn't around, and although I really like the Ben/Nina dynamic, it reminds me a whole bunch of Xander/Anya from Buffy. Not that that's a bad thing.

Plus Sock's arc with wanting to bang his step-sister is pretty hilarious. Him and Ben are fantastic support characters. I especially have a soft spot for Ben, since at the start of season one there wasn't really that much to him other than being the guy that always had bad stuff happen to him (ie eyebrows burnt off, shot with nail gun, partially-swallowed by giant slime demon), and now he is hilarious in every episode.

This show rocks. Fuck you, Kano.
