So it's back
Two episodes have aired so far, and it is shaping up to be an awesome season. I have to say, as always, Ray Wise has been fucking sensational in both episodes so far. Like he has just been standout good. Sam's been confirmed as the son of the devil, although I liked the twist that he's one of a bunch of kids, and he is not as unique or special as he thought. I am really digging where they're going with the addition of Alan. It seems like he will be a really interesting character. Sock's step-sister Kristen has provided excellent story substance for him even in the space of the first two episodes, since Josie seems to have disappeared completely. Same with Ben's ladyfriend Cassidy. Wasn't she all excited that he was gonna get out of prison (in eight days) and things were fine? Then we never saw her again, and now he's all lovin' it up with a demon instead. Weird.
Things I hope they touch on in the next few episodes (or at least during the season):
- The whereabouts and nature of Mr. Oliver, since he survived being buried alive (and how Mrs Oliver knew where he would be)
- As a side to that, did Sam's brother ever find out that Mr. Oliver had "died"? How would it be explained to him that he's not actually dead? In fact, I don't really think we've even seen the brother since like, the second episode. Not that it's a problem, since he was kind of an unnecessary character anyway.
- Where's Tony? Is he still involved with the rebellion? Been a few random demons pop up trying to off Sammy but so far Tony's been a no-show. One would think he's more on Sam's side again after seeing Steve as an angel at the end of last season.
- Cady. It was never really clarified why she had those seemingly devil-esque powers but appeared normal through the glasses which reveal true evil, although if she's one of the devil's kids, it might be a similar thing to Sam in that he is not really "evil" despite his relation to Satan. But that would be messed up if they are paternal half-siblings.
Also, I hope Ted is not gone for good. He is one of the most hilarious characters in the show.
Anyway. Is anyone else still watching this? Because it's awesome. And if you're not, you should be.
