View Full Version : Vince doesn't like Christian?

Vince McMahon isn’t a big fan of ECW wrestler Christian, according to one former WWE employee. It’s no secret that the WWE chairman doesn’t view him as a “star.” “He cares more about the doormat at his house than Christian,” said the former employee. “I don’t understand why you re-up with the guy and then don’t do anything with him.” In another Christian note, he told friends TNA’s final offer to him was a five-year deal worth $2.5 million for a certain number of dates per year. However, one company source disputes the contract offer as Christian would have jumped at it. The two time NWA World Heavyweight Champion made it clear to TNA president Dixie Carter that his lack of faith in the creative team was a big reason for his departure from the organization.
This does seem retarded. But it is still a carnie business, not a business business.

I don't get it. What's retarded?
Doesn't really change my opinion on Christian, or Vince McMahon for that matter.

It is retarded that if Vince doesn't like Christian, why does he rehire Christian just to keep him down?

Yeah, I know it isn't suprising. I know Vince and the other promoters use to (and still do) this kinda crap. It just seems so immature.

Who's this former employee though? Bubba Ray? Someone in TNA/someone who hates Vince or is bitter about Christian going back?
He can't hate him THAT much.
Sure, he could be pushed higher on the card. I think it's funny how people act as though he's jobbing in dark matches though. He was uppermidcard before he left, and he is now.

He brought in Bischoff. That's how much "hate" plays into him hiring someone.

You hire him so nobody else can. Vince may not like him, but he knows he's a draw to some degree, else he wouldn't have snatched him up.

Do you find yourself watching (ECW) since the return of Christian? ... I rarly watched it before Christian returned.
This. Christian's gonna draw to some degree weather he's pushed or not.

Christian is a huge draw, look at how much he helped TNA, and look at how much they are now suffering with out him.

One internet mark watching ECW doesn't mean Christian is a draw.

Well it seems to indicate that he hates him as a performer, not a person.
So I don't think it's like Bischoff, where personal differences are put aside for guarunteed money. This is a supposed instance of Vince not having any faith in him as a star.
That's why I think it's bullshit. Maybe he doesn't view him like Cena or Batista, but that doesn't mean he "hates him" as a performer. Look where he is on the card, and always has been. Pretty high up and active.
He's a good enough talent to re-hire and put on the Wrestlemania card.

I think he "hates" him as much as the string of guys like Jericho, Punk, Matt or whoever. All guys who are great performers, and pushed as so. They have uppermidcard success but somehow the IWC gets it in their mind that because they aren't the top dog, they're held down and Vince hates them. "In the doghouse"
Wrestling needs uppermidcarders and transitional champions. I think that's a pretty successful and entertaining place to be. I came to terms with the fact that not everyone I like can be world champion for a year a long time ago.

Punk is always in the doghouse and always has heat. Only CM Punk, forever and ever.
I'm not surprised Vince "hates" Christian. He might "hate" guys like Jericho and Matt, yet he hired them back and look where they are now.

Vince hates everyone. The more he hates them, the harder he pushes them. He does this because the more dates they work, and the more money they make, the sooner they will breakdown or retire. Then he can have them out of his hair and find someone new to hate.
The guys he loves most are the ones he releases or won't sign.
You heard it here first.

He's a good established worker. Worth having on the roster when things need padding out with guys who are pretty skilled, but I don't think he has WWE main event star power either and if I was vince, I'd be much happier having him on my roster mid-carding it up than being a sellable face for the quote unquote competition.

Yeah ok maybe but IMO this is Vinces way of mocking TNA. He gets one of there big stars and puts them in his lowest rating show. Its just his way of saying fuck you TNA your shit and this is about as good as you can get.
I dont understand why he hates him. Maybe its because the IWC mark out like bitches when they hear Christian and Vince hates the IWC.

Yeah, when Christian came in, he elevated ratings to an average of 1.1.
When Christian left, ratings dipped to an average of 1.1.
So is the IWC still blowing smoke up each others' asses about Christian?

Remember the heat on Punk when he was champion?
I think Matt's a bad example. They hired him back to one of the biggest responses in this current era, and buried him instead of running with it. He was huge without a title when he came back, and he could have been a legit ME'er on the A show. So now he's a former C-Show champion and he turned on his brother?
I'm reminded of Jon Stewart's recent crack that had taken Cramer's advice, he'd be a millionaire now...If he started with a billion. Hardy's in an okay position...After being jobbed out of a great position to the point people didn't care and then brought back up.

You have it wrong. People here were freaking out because they wanted Christian to re-debut in a high profile feud and basically start at the top. Which is dumb considering Christian left as a mid carder, to the "competition" no less. There's no reason why Vince would reward him from the get-go.
I think people hoped that Christian would boost the ECW ratings so that some morons on this board would stop the "ECW isn't canon" shtick. Maybe a bit of wishful thinking, but it doesn't even matter, Christian's matches on ECW have been legit, regardless of the ratings
People were justifying why this was actually a positive thing. That's not me having it wrong; it's you glossing over the inconvenient chatter that was going on and emphasizing only the most convenient to your justification.
I don't see how Christian going to ECW is a negative. It's a step up from TNA.
I think looking at is as "WWE fucks up again" is an unfair, tunnel vision opinion.

I don't think Vince "hates" Christian, and I'm sure he does see worth in Christian as a performer. It would not surprise me if Christian was kept down because Vince doesn't want to be proven wrong about him.
In 2005, the WWE missed the boat on three major stars. They really missed the boat on Matt Hardy, who was over like fucking hell after the whole Edge/Lita thing. If they had pushed him upon re-hiring him, he'd have been a legit main eventer, as KK said. They also missed the boat on face Christian and heel John Cena. Instead of doing what the fans were really craving, and turning Christian face and giving him a push, they moved him to SmackDown!, to try and squash any real momentum he had.
I don't think Christian being on ECW is a bad thing, and I don't think "punishment," is the true goal, although I think paying dues is. Christian still seems like the best choice to win Money in the Bank right now, in my opinion, though. This is a way that Vince could really give him a test run with the belt, and see if Christian is worth the time of day as a main event performer. Given how good he is in the ring, and how naturally charisma he is, I definitely think it is a safer gamble than most.

Christian isn't a draw.
NO ONE IS A DRAW
The product is the draw, he's another reason that you, a fan of Christian will continue to watch WWE programming, just like you did before. Thus changing nothing.
I'm a big fan of Christian, but don't expect him to be anywhere near the main event scene, Vince prob brought him back because, he's a good hand. That's it, in his opinion, and that's the only opinion that matters in Christian's future for the next 3 years

So let me make sure I have this correctly.....
The economy is in a shithole
Vince is not only firing wrestlers, he's firing long time company people
Vince is implementing cost cutting moves everywhere
"Let's bring in Christian to fuck him over"
 @ the IWC logic sometimes

He is the Miz to Edge's Morrison. Jim Neidhart and Marty Jannetty never got pushed to main event. Because they weren't main event. Why should he get a big push when he hasn't outshined anyone?
Fabien I beg to differ there. I think Christian has done a lot more than guys like Jannetty and The Anvil. I am not taking anything away from them but Christian is not in the same league.

The xfl and wbf say otherwise.
The thing that pisses me of most though is he lets personal grudges get in the way of bringing people in. Id LOVE to know wtf randy savage did that was so bad that he point blank refuses to hear his name even being mentioned (considering he rehired people that almost put him out of business) . We all know about the stephanie rumours but they reek of bs.

People forget that it's Wrestlemania season. He's not going to be put into a huge storyline with Edge, Cena, Big Show, Orton, and HHH. He's competing in this year's MITB... one of the biggest matches in Wrestlemania these days. There are a few guys who probably deserve Christian's spot more than him (due to the timing of his return).
Complain in a year's time if (or when) WWE are wasting his potential.

Just because you like someone doesn't mean you can't assume the worst.
And with WWE and cases like this, 80% of the time it comes out being close to the worst.

I don't think people are upset that Christian isn't headlining WrestleMania, or anything. I think they are just upset that Christian may not be used to his maximum potential because of slanted opinions.
It's not just the WWE that does this. I can think of instances even in ROH, the place where there is meant to be no glass ceiling, that guys aren't used to their fullest because the boss doesn't think they're quite good enough. I guess the boss thinks they know best, but sometimes you need to be able to accept that you are wrong, and give something you don't think will work a shot.
Hopefully that is what Vince does with Christian. At least then he can say "I told you so."

Funaki was a little much but you get the picture. Alls I'm saying is that it's starting to look like they don't have a big plan for him. I don't really think he'll ever be low card but I think the WWE is retarded enough to keep him at low mid-card the rest of his WWE career.
