Oh...my...god. This episode was amazing. They totally ripped OJ Simpson a new asshole. This episode was pushing the line and it was fantastic.
Let's hope it looks up from here.

I gave up on them ever making a competent episode again, but if it's "amazing" then I guess I will hulu it up. brb

Wow, what an uncreative pile of dog shit. How bad has this show become that this episode could be considered amazing? I didn't even smile once. How was that amazing?

Seriously, I saw nothing great from that episode besides played out jokes. What exactly did they say to have "ripped OJ Simpson a new asshole?"

Just before the first commercial break, an effete cartoon beaver told me to "stick around." There was no humor up to that point, and at least three minutes were devoted to Conway Twitty singing a complete song. I did not want to stick around, so I turned the television off for the rest of that half-hour.
Last weeks episode was better.

What? How was this amazing? I was so pissed off at the end that I decided to trade n all 6 seasons I have on DVD today.

Yeah, devoting minutes of show time to Conway Twitty was a stroke of genius by the writers. How do they come up with these brilliant ideas?

What line did it push, Stickman?

Has there been a Michael Phelps joke yet? I had a bet with a friend that when as he won his medals there would be a Michael Phelps joke.
Hasney, how much did you get for the DVDs? I have been wanting to do that for mine for awhile now, but judging from the ebay rates it wouldn't be that much.

Judging by the fact that they're doing OJ Simpson and Conway Twitty jokes in 2009, I'd say Michael Phelps jokes are a few years away.

Now I kind of want to watch this terrible episode just to see what's going on.
I've given Family Guy praise up and down, and even I think they're stretching to fill time. They've really jumped the shark and now instead of one or two repeated jokes every other episode we're getting the same fucking jokes every 10 episodes.
I can't wait until the next "Chicken Fight". And how many times are we going to see Cleveland fall out of his bathtub? That was first done like last season and it's been done AT LEAST four times.
Not saying it was a complete waste, though. The Back to the Future reference was ROFL.
"No Michael, I need to tell YOU about YOUR future."

Between 6 and 8 quid a set. Above the EBay rate on a local store around here.

The show has become of a parody of itself. The jokes are so forced and the characters are just soulless vehicles for delivering awful punchlines.
The first three seasons were incredible. Some of the best writing since the Simpsons glory days. The jokes were clever and came from the story, rather than the story coming from the jokes. Of course it figures that the clever stuff gets cancelled but we get stuck with at least 5 years of this bullshit and another equally awful McFarlane abortion on right after it, and then a fucking Family Guy spinoff. It angers the blood.

It still has some great moments, but that was a "meh" episode.
The Conway Twitty shit has happened way too many times to be funny anymore, its just sad.
One joke I'm GLAD they haven't shoved down our throats is the Peter falling and breating gag.
The thing with Family Guy is that a lot of their original gags and parodies are pretty funny the first time around, mainly because they're so unexpected. But they need to realize that the majority that they repeat are gags that are just ANNOYING, and not in a good way.
If the segment is more than one minute, do it once and move on. Don't jam it down our throats.

AMen.
That shit was so funny the first time. So was chicken fight. So was the stuff where stewie is mesing with brian and each statement he gets a higher pitch.
But they can only happen so many times.
BTW, Conway Twitty was never funny.

After watching the one from last night, I would agree that it was bad, though not as bad as the ones I remember watching from like a year or so ago when just about every joke would be a "Like the time that I..." joke (manatee jokes). There seemed to be actual dialogue and it was funny at times. But overall the show used to just seem so full of itself, like they could put any retarded thing on and people would watch it, and that's the worst part.

Also, I usually don't watch a Family Guy episode more than once. The jokes either get dated quick or become stale to me. I guess once the initial shock of the joke wears off there isn't much wit behind it. You're really just watching Peter fight a chicken.
One thing I DO like about Family guy is when they parody old musical films.

I fuckin love family guy.
But the last episodes of the last season, and this one really suck. And if they keep putting in songs and shit from other shows, or just any singing, I'll give up.

Wow...the 3/22 ep. was HORRIBLE!!! Lois getting a job at Fox News as the main plot? JESUS. And then they had the whole retarded "Peter, Chris and Meg make up their own cartoon, only it's basically just Peter's and Chris' cartoon, because God knows making fun of Meg is still funny. Sometimes I swear they should just do a whole damn ep. where Stewie and Meg kill off the entire cast and leave this dinosaur of a show to rot. That's how sick of it I am...
