View Full Version : SmackDown! Spoilers for next two weeks
From PWInsider:
Thanks to Steve Leckey for sending along Smackdown spoilers from Corpus Christi, Texas:
Jimmy Wang Yang beat Eric Escobar in a dark match.
March 20th Episode
- Triple H beat Vladimir Kozlov with a Pedigree. Kozlov went from undefeated streak to losing streak.
- MVP beat Shelton Benjamin to win the U.S. Title. Great match, and I think the crowd was surprised to see a title change before Mania.
- Shawn Michaels beat Kane, obviously to send a message to Undertaker (and hey, two Raw guys wrestling on Smackdown).
- Jeff Hardy beat The Brian Kendrick. I think they announced that Jeff and Matt will have an "Extreme Rules" match at Wrestlemania.
- The Undertaker beat JBL. It was non-title, of course.
- They showed the video package they didn't on Raw, announcing the Von Erichs will go into the Hall Of Fame.
- The first show ended with Vickie Guerrero and the World Title participants in the ring. Vickie said whoever wins at Wrestlemania wins her. I guess that guarantees Cena wins. Lots of yapping, leading to Edge trying to spear Cena, but accidentally hits Vickie, and Big Show chokeslams Edge.
March 27th Episode
- They did an eight-man match with tag rules with the Money In The Bank participants, which Kane won. Everyone brawled after the match.
- Big Show beat Jesse & Festus in a handicap match. Maybe they were better off staying off TV.
- Carlito & Primo Colon and their Bella beat The Miz, John Morrison and their Bella.
- Matt Hardy beat R-Truth with a Twist Of Fate. Truth is really over with the crowd.
- Maryse vs. Michelle McCool ended when Gail Kim made her return by attacking both Divas and then grabbing the title belt.
- Shawn Michaels did a promo like the Undertaker, except everything was white instead of black. Michaels said his "light" would beat Undertaker's "darkness", and when Undertaker showed up, Michaels escaped.
Dark Match Main Event: Edge defeated Jeff Hardy when Matt interfered.

I noticed that R-Truth seems to be getting very good crowd reactions as well. Dunno, if they will do anything with it but there's definitely something there.
Shelton Benjamin loses the title going into the PPV and poor Koslov could have went into WM undefeated.

Apparently, Michaels also quotes some Scripture in the promo as well. Too bad Reverend D-Von isn't around anymore to yell "OH MY BROTHA TESTIFYYYYYY" at the end or something.
Interesting that they took the US title off Benjamin heading into MITB -- maybe a sign they're getting ready to push him with a MITB win?

Great thinking there, RGS. I would be more inclined to think Bnejamin would be getting the shot now, since he's lost the title.
Unless the WWE swerves us and has MVP walk out with the Belt and the Case!
Either way, we can be assured of this simple truth, if either nigga wins, we will get the first MITB winner that LOSES their title shot.

By that logic Punk has an equal chance of winning.
I liked my Spoilers better, more detailed.
Shut up Xero. Don't tell me what to do.
(Airing This Week)
* Triple H came out and cut a promo about Randy Orton. Triple H called Orton a disease and said he was the cure.
* Triple H defeated Vladimir Kozlov. Nothing special here. Triple H won with the Pedigree.
* MVP defeated Shelton Benjamin with the Playmaker to become the new United States Champion. Good match here with MVP deserving the win.
* Shawn Michaels defeated Kane with Sweet Chin Music. Shawn got a huge pop for appearing on SmackDown.
* Jeff Hardy defeated The Brian Kendrick in an Extreme Rules match. Good match with some nice spots. Hardy won with the Swanton.
* WWE did an announcement for the Von Erichs going into the Hall of Fame this year.
* The Undertaker defeated JBL in a non-title match. Not a bad match here. Taker won with his Hell's Gates submission move.
* Vickie Guerrero got some huge heat as she announced the winner of the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania will be the Champion of her heart. John Cena came out and got involved, turning Big Show and Edge against each other after they formed some kind of truce. Edge accidentally speared Vickie which led to Show chokeslamming Edge and leaving with Vickie.
----------------------------------
(Airing Next Week)
* Kane, Christian Cage, Shelton Benjamin and Finlay defeated MVP, Mark Henry, CM Punk and Kofi Kingston. This match was a bit better than the six-man match they had on TV the other night. Kane got the win after a chokeslam on Punk.
* Big Show defeated Jesse and Festus in a Handicap match. It was good to see Jesse and Festus back but this was an obvious show to make Big Show look good for Wrestlemania. Show got the win after his knockout punch.
* Carlito, Primo Colon and Brie Bella defeated The Miz, John Morrison and Nikki Bella. Good match here considering everything, made me want to see their match at WrestleMania. Colons and Brie got the win with the Backstabber.
* Matt Hardy defeated R-Truth with a Twist of Fate.
* Maryse defended her Divas Championship against Michelle McCool. The match ended in DQ when Gail Kim made her return and hit Michelle with a missile dropkick before attacking Maryse. Gail has definitely arrived.
* Rey Mysterio defeated Chavo Guerrero with the 619. JBL came out after the match and dropped Rey with the big boot. They did show a graphic on the big screen that JBL will defend the IC Title against Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania.
* Shawn Michaels came out to cut a promo on The Undertaker. Shawn was dressed in white mocking Taker and said he represented the light while Taker represents the shadows. Shawn quoted scripture from the Bible and talked about he will be Mr. Wrestlemania and end Taker's streak.
Dark Main Event:
* The advertised World Title match with Edge and Jeff Hardy happened actually. Edge got the win after spearing Jeff with interference from Matt Hardy.
Shut up Juan and watch that stupid DVD your mom got you with her hard earned money.
You ungrateful bathturd.

Really glad MVP won the title with the Playmaker. I just can't buy the Drive-By Kick as a finisher. It seems weak to me.

This must be wrong. Surely Vince in all his Christian hating ways would never allow him to be on a winning team this close to WretleMania.
Although he's defiently being held back by not getting the clean pinfall over his 4 opponents and 3 team mates at the same time..... :shifty:

Apparently during the HBK segment, he was dressed in the same attire Taker wears, except all white. So, long coat, hat, gloves, etc.

Really glad MVP won the title with the Playmaker. I just can't buy the Drive-By Kick as a finisher. It seems weak to me.
I gotta disagree with you there. The drive by kick works for me, and it's a great move, where the playmaker is just an awful move... I've always hated it. It looks weak as all fuck all.

The Drive-By Kick is a boot to the back of the opponent's head. How many other guys pretty much do that during a match? The Playmaker sees MVP lean back before falling as the opponent is spun around, their neck landing on the inside of his knee.
Guess it doesn't matter though. They used the better looking move in the match that he regained the title.

Looks like they don't trust the Hardy's to put on an entertaining match without weapons.

Oh come on, I'm not saying that Vince hates Christian. Just pointing out that they normally don't push a guy towards the top whilst jobbing him to midcarders every other week. Is that really such an outlandish thought?

Your point would go over better if you didn't exaggerate so much. By my count he's been pinned three times since his Feb. 10 debut. Twice by the ECW Champion (one of which was another tag-team match) and once last night (in a tag-team match).

Weird that they'd make Shelton drop the title out of no where. I wonder if this means he has a chance at winning MITB. I haven't watched Smackdown much lately, but whenever I go he seems to always be great. Has he been this consistent all year (plus longer)?

Yeah he's been pretty consistent since he was drafted to ECW. It continued when he got drafted to Smackdown and won the US title. He had a couple of good matches with Undertaker too.

I must say, I'm not too shocked to hear of M.V.P. winning the U.S. title, as he's not yet ready for the main event, and with Shelton dropping the gold before WM and not after, makes me believe he's going to (FINALLY!) be this year's Mr. Money In The Bank after participating in 4-of-5 all time MITB ladder matches (@ WM's 21, 22, & 24, plus this year.)
Also, the Gail Kim thing just makes me so glad that A) she's back in WWE, and B) we won't have to suffer through a horrendous Divas Championship (if you can even call it that) match at WM due to the 25-diva battle royal in place for the "Miss WrestleMania" title or something.
