View Full Version : Aren't the Dudleys a little played out by now?

Couldn't WWE go ahead and drop the Dudleys now? All the teams they fought in their "glory" days are gone, and they are hella predictable.

I wouldn't mind seeing one last heel run by the Dudley's but other than that, drop them.

Yes. And I'd only be interested in a heel run if we got to see the kind of promos Bubba cut in ECW.
They could get decent again if they actually used tables again, like on a regular basis. Instead of the crowd chanting we want tables every match, bubba tells devon to get the tables 1 out of every 10 matches, devon manages to get the tables before being attacked 1 out of every 20 matches, and them actually putting someone through them every 100 matches.

The Dudleys are gettting old. There matches are starting to get predictable and yes like Vega said, they rarely use the tables now. That was like the big thing they were known for when they got to the WWE. With out the tables, the Dudley Boys are nothing. The only reason they are still around now is to keep Spike Company. Now with Spike over on Smackdown in the cruiswerweight division he should have some good matches. I think this will be a good thing for Spike now. Just look at his match last thursday on Smackdown vs Chavo. That was a pretty damn good match.

Dudleyz are a great team man, they were hot sh</>it. Don't think they need to be dropped, but they need a good team to work with, and some new angles and gimmicks. They just need some tinkering. They don't need to get dropped altogether. They're both good workers.

I think they really need someone to feud with. The Dudleyz and the FBI would have made a great feud. Maybe Kyo Dai could start one up with the Dudleyz. Anyway with the rumours of ECW sprouting up again, I think it should be a good time to refresh the Dudleyz and have them lead the tag division on ECW and maybe a flaming table or two (well at least tables).

Dudleys are much better heels. They should keep them heels for a long time. Have them turn on Spike again. I dont care. Dudleys as heels is a good thing
I think they should stay off tv for awhile and then come back as heels. Tease the tables and not get them.

Yeah, putting them off TV for a bit wouldn't be a bad idea, however, WWE is hurting with tag teams right now. I say put them in an interesting feud. Have Teddy Long approach D'Von about how Bubba is holding him down or something. Or stick them in some skits, or something. They need to freshen up.

The Dudleys are far and away my favorite tag team. The only thing stale about them is that there are no good tag teams for them to feud with these days. If they stick around a while longer, I think they'll go down as one of the greatest tag teams of all-time.

Dudley's as heels (meaning, of the ECW days) = ratings. There's no doubt about it, the Dudley's CAN be amazing heels if they are allowed to do some over the top things with promos. And they had a certain "NWO esque" feel to them when they used to wipe out everybody who got close to them. I would love to see those Dudley's back. They could have a great heel run and I agree with the above poster who said they could, someday, be viewed as one of the greatest tag teams of all time.

Seriously? I thought that was one of their best matches in a while. I like the aggressive nature that they've been portraying in the ring as of late, and it seems to me like they're about to turn heel anyway.

I think they could be viewed as being major tag heels if they did something really nasty looking to someone that actually matters (ie. not Mae Young)
I'd love to see them powerbomb someone who was actually over as a face through 2 or 4 tables. I think something like that would get them over as heels majorly. I just hope they don't have to resort to cheap heat to get themselves over (IE badmouthing Americans ala La Resistance.)

^ Agreed. And also to the post above that one too. I thought the RVD & Booker match they had on Raw was pretty damn good. Definitely one of their better matches they've had in awhile.
And yeah, if they came out and started wiping out people like Cena, Guerrero, and RVD they could get some major heel heat.

Dudleys are decent in terms of getting the 'live crowd' into the event, but I agree.............they are VERY stale.
I personally think the WWE had the right idea a few years ago when they decided to break up the Dudleys (and put them on separate shows). The problem however, was that neither man could 'make it' as a singles star.
The WWE got scared and put them back together.
Despite this - I still am in favor of seeing them split again (and trying to make it as singles stars).
Take a look at Bradshaw a few years ago (when the Acolytes were split up). Bradshaw sucked massive penis as a singles competitor, but seems to have found his 'niche' now. Sometimes........it just takes time.
I'm sure if the Dudleys were split (and made into singles stars), the WWE would EVENTUALLY come up with something decent for one (or both) men.

I am getting tired of them. Tag Team wrestling is the east way out. You always have someone toback you up if your getting tired. Bubba's fat ass couldn't cut it and I am tired of the fact they won't wrestle normal matches. Becasue lets face it they ahve no ability to be regular wrestlers.

Pretty good call by BDC, btw. Dropped them that fall.
Right now is the first time in a long time that The Dudley's haven't been played out. Their matches against Beer Money have been top notch
