Never realised he was that old. Suprised me alot.

Use this space to discuss the subject of the thread, or feel free to expand and discuss other old wrestlers, or wrestlers who are older than you thought or such stuff.

Whats crazy is Ric Flair is 60. And when you look at it, a lot of the top guys in the biz, are way up there now. That being said, one has to wonder how many more years the, main eventers, have left.

Taker = 43
HBK = 43
HHH = 39
Sting = 50

Just a few examples.

A lot of the top guys are gonna be fading out soon. With that on the horizon, who will take up the mantle? Whos tomorrows main eventers going to be? Do you see anyone that has lasting draw potential? Randy Orton obviously is being groomed to take the charge. But who else is there. Cena is a fad IMO. Jericho could be around a while. But he has a pretty drivers range of interests. I wouldn't be surprised if he got bored or frustrated and took a hiatus again. But the legends of the past are giving him the bump, so thats gotta mean something?

What do you think?

Sting is 50? wow. Then again, he's been in the business since the mid-late 80s, in other words, somewhere between 20-25 years, so it makes sense.

I knew he was that old. He's in such great shape it's crazy. He's probably in better shape than a lot of the younger guys. I was unsure about him returning to TNA because I didn't know how his body has held up over the years. He's had some pretty good matches in the past couple of years.

IT's time for the old guys to start putting the youngins over. If not we'll be looking at a WCW-esque roster really soon. Will Vince have the stones to job his son in law?

What's crazy is that when guys like HBK, UT, Bret, and Hollywood Hogan were running WCW/WWE, you could see who was going to be big. The Rock, HHH, Shamrock, Austin, Jericho, etc. I kind of see the new wave with the likes of MVP, Cena, Orton, Christian, Swagger, Morrison, but its like...most of these guys have already been thrusted up the card, while the previous that i mentioned had a slow meaning full "storyline" type build. I.e. The Rock, was that cocky kid from the nation who became that "young lion" who dethroned the older (Farooq). I think eventually the WWE is going to combine the rosters again then split them again.

I mean you think about it, HBK, HHH, UT, JBL, will be gone in about 3-4 years (unless they want to pull a flair) so there isn't alot of breathing room.

It is going to be weird thinking of Wrestling without these Main Eventers, but it is something WWE needs to work on. Build up young talent so they can become the same tyoe of guys we have today.

Cena is a fad IMO.

As soon as you voiced this opinion I stopped taking you seriously.

Cenas been on top of the heap longer than any other pretender to the Main event throne now (e.g. below HHH Taker etc.). In fact to say he isnt a recognised long term Main Event player now is being very hard on him.

The only guy even close would be Batista, and barring a career ending injury or similar to Cena he will be there long after Bats is just a roided up muscle pretzel making a crust doing shoots for $7 a pop.
