The Show Off

I just got home from the Manhattan Center for Ring of Honor's 7th Anniversary show and it was one hell of a card.
Claudio Castagnoli and Brent Albright put on a very respectable match... Ultimate Enurance with Jacobs, Aries, and Brodie Lee vs. Necro, Delerious, and Tyler Black was a very fun affair... El Generico & Kevin Steen once again showed why they're the best tag team in the buisness as they put on a match filled with high spots against the American Wolves highlighted by Generico doing a springboard flip diver through a ladder... KENTA and Nigel McGuinness put on an amazing ROH Title match trhat is by far the match of the year so far...
However...
Though the card was amazing and filled with great matches the night belonged to the men that returned to Ring of Honor...
Bryan Danielson had had trouble with Prince Nana's new beast, he was able to buy with his stimulious package money, Bison Smith for a little while now. So they set up a tag team match with mystery partners on each side. Nana is the first out to revel Bison Smith's tag partner and thank Barak Obama for all the free money he's getting. He announces that his tag partner is "The Crown Jewel of the Embassy" that's right Jimmy Rave comes out to a surprisingly loud ovation with chants of "Welcome Back." Everyone on forgetting temporarly that the new TNA reject is a mediocre wrestler at best, but who cares The Embassy is back so the fans feel good.
Then out comes Danielson rushing to the ring not even giving the fans a chance to sing "The Final Countdown" by Europe. He starts fighting off the returning Rave and Bison Smith when Grizzley's music hit and he rushes the ring, presumably as American Dragon's tag partner. However, when he gets easily pressed above Bison Smith's head and dumped to the outside this doesn't seem to be the case.
Then Colt Cabana's music hit...
...and the Manhattan Center went nuts!
He comes out to the ring and fights off Bison and Rave and dumps them both to the outside and as the Embassy is backing up the ramp Cabana and Danielson gave eachother a look as the fans chanted "Colt Cabana" and "Welcome Back" over top of one another so over come up excitment to care. What ensued was a "decent" match where there was no doubt that Cabana would get the rub. A few nice comedy spots like Cabana slapping Danielsons ass. After the pinfall Cabana gets on the mic and proclaims that he is home as the fans welcome him back once again, then he calls for "The Final Countdown" to play again because apparently he's a Europe fan... A few little bits of Cabana ruining Danielson's pose and all was right in ROH.
All and all a fantastic return and a fantastic card if you by ROH DVD's pick up 7th Anniversary Show when it comes out, it's worth it.
RIP Scotty Goldman
