Looks better than Jumanji. Seems to have enough original material in there to only be loosely based on the book. I'm sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

That actually really caught my attention.
I am very interested.

Holy shit....

They actually made a film about it.

I never read the books but when I was about 6/7 my mom bought me an animated video called WTWTA and I fuckin loved it.

The kid, Max I think, had loads of other adventures like one in this massive kitchen with 3 chefs and he like flew around this whole food planet, jumping into cakes, swimming in milk lol

Seeing that trailer has bought back some fond memories, I will def be seeing this.

Nice version of Wake Up by Arcade Fire there also :y:

I think the key to the story is visual style. That's what the book is. It's not a novel, it's a picture book. They can take liberties with the story, since they obvioulsy have to add to it to make the film 90+ minutes.
It just has to be good, and capture the amazing art in that book.

Hey, Spike Jonze isn't dead. Alright.

That trailer actually looked really good. And I think if anyone was going to make the book into a film, Jonze is the one to do it.

There's been a lot of rumours regarding Jonze fighting with the studio to release a darker version then what they want. Very interested to see this.

Yeah, mine too. Like the direction they seem to be taking with it too.

Also, excellent song for the trailer.

I read this book to my son every night for a year straight, after awhile you dont even need the book since you can recite it together. But the pictures were magical.

Doesn't really interest me, but I can understand why fans of the book would sentimentally love this shit.

Saw it last night. Just an achingly sad, melancholy flick. Loved it.

I can't believe somebody was able to make a full length movie from like a 20 page book with 1 or 2 sentences per page.

I am really hoping this is not like one of the other children books turned in to movies. I really didn't like them. Though Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs was fucking awesome.

Someone said this to me a few weeks ago at the movie theater. I said the same thing then that I will say now.

C'mon now! They took a ride from Disney World and made 3 3 hour long movies out of it.
