View Full Version : Do you see Big Show winning at WM 25?

I've been watching the "Big Show domination" they have been showing and I've been thinking do you see him winning in the tripple threat match? Show has been champ in the past but it seem like he's kinda the "third wheel" :shifty: in this match. I think that for a guy his size and for as long as he's been wrestling, I think he should get another nice long world champ run.

I would love to see him. Thats who I want to win because he deserves a good title run.

I think they might actually do a Cena/Vickie swerve. It got mentioned a couple of times in threads, and the more I think about it...the more I like it and see it as a real possibility.

I wanna see Vickie get the chokeslam. I may not like Eddie but it makes me sick she is making him look bad. It hought Vince only hired pretty people.

Yeah, I could maybe see them applying the Cornette Rule and re-hashing the Austin/McMahon thing from WM X-7, with Cena taking Vickie's help to win the match or something and then turning heel by being labeled a sell out. With the company looking for all the revenue it can get its hands on with this economy, though, I don't think they'd have the balls to turn Cena heel and lose out on all that merchandise.

I really don't think Big Show has much of a chance at WrestleMania. They may tease the Cena heel turn by having him and Edge effectively work Big Show out of the match, but in the end it'll probably be Cena giving Edge the FU for the win.

I do like how they've at least been trying to give Show some momentum into the PPV to make it seem like he has a fighting chance. Too often he's booked as the lumbering oaf who can't stay out of his own way, but the past week or two with him systematically taking out Edge and Cena (cleanly) at least makes him look like a threat. I just think it's too obvious Cena's winning.

I couldn't believe the way the Big Show/Cena match went down on RAW.

They will not turn Cena heel

He's making too much money of the merch (more than fecking Hogan!) to turn him, booking logic aside (Logic? Lolz) it doesn't make viable business sense to turn one of your biggest cash cows, unless you fill that void with another cow. And there isn't anyone that comes near the revenue he makes currently.

What?

Allowing Vickie's family to still get income due to giving her a job at Eddie's former employer isn't a bad thing... unless you're a douche.

What if they turn Cena, and the fans actually like it? I mean he could be great as a heel. The only problem is that we live in the Age of Orton who's the company's top heel. Then Jericho is pretty set as a heel. SmackDown! would definitely be interesteing if that went down. Wouldn't ratings trump merch sales?

I'd have Show win it. If, as rumoured, Edge is taking a little time off, I'd have show take the title and then have Cena chasing show on smackdown for the belt until summerslam.

However

Cena wins

The cena show match was pretty weird, cena got next to no offense in, his flying shoulder block bounced off show, he couldnt get the stf on and the fu attempt led to a chokeslam. I think cenas "major" offense was a ddt and that was it.

Was sort of like what happened in the elimination chamber i suppose.

Big Show has been dominating because he isn't going to win.
Shawn Michaels got the upperhand on Taker again this week because he isn't going to win.
HHH and the McMahons got the beatdown on Orton to close Raw because they're not going to win.
Kane won the battle royal because he isn't going to win MITB.

I wouldn't disagree with that but they could easily swerve if they thought about it.

Yes, they have been swerving lately. I'm just applying the typical wrestling logic. Those are the vegas odds on favorites so to speak.

I still think Big Show could win. But I think there's a strong possibility of Cena taking it, because I think Orton should and will win, and they likely don't want two "downers"

I think there'll be some unpredictable shit that goes into HOW certain people win. There's also a strong possibility given how they've been booking that we will be duped completey on at least one "predictable" finish.
Look at how No Way Out turned out.

Keep in mind JBL is going to "make history". He could walk out of mania WHC somehow.

I am looking forward to this mania more than most on here are.
I think the simplified card is a good thing. It represents the current product, and serves the active roster and storylines, rather than loading the event with legends and dream matches that ultimately sabotage the rest of the year (ie 18-23)

Very good point. WrestleMania X-7 is probably my favorite of all-time, and it was very much straightforward. Jericho/Regal for the IC title. Tazz/APA vs Right to Censor, Chyna/Ivory, and the Gimmick Battle Royal as short events to give people a chance to settle down. Eddie Guerrero/Test for the Euro title. Angle/Benoit in a straight, no-gimmicks wrestling match. Really the only matches that were gimmicky were the Shane vs. Vince street fight and TLC. I guess you could count Austin/Rock as a gimmick match since it was No DQ, but they played it straight for most of that match. Even Triple H/Undertaker was a very solid match. There was nothing really original about the card, but the performances were spectacular and they made it work. I have little doubt the same will happen this year.

I would love to see it. I've been a Big Show supporter since his return (since before then as well but he's really stepped up and kept up his game) and I think he deserves some time at the top. But, it's not gonna happen.

Let's keep in mind that both belts are technically on Smackdown right now. So if Orton wins, Cena can't win. And if HHH wins, Cena has to win. Now, they could sort things out in the upcoming draft, but that's not for a little while, and I'm going under the assumption they will get it done the less messy way and not worry about drafting champions this time.

The draft is in 2 weeks. I think it'd be easier to do whatever they have planned and use the draft.

I do not see Show winning at all. It's weird, this is one of the first Mania's that I can look at the ME and say for sure "This person is not winning"

Cena wins, no doubt. Though I'd like to see Edge hold the belt, and Orton win. For me, there will be one title switch. Cena is the obvious, so lets hope WWE don't do he obvious.

Orton needs to steamroll as untouchable for a few months building up to a good summer PPV.... Wargames.

Ah well, I'm hoping too much here.

EVERYONE said that about Orton last year.

There was always that idea in the back of my mind for Orton to win last year. At least that was my thought last year.

People held out hope that Orton would retain, instead of Super Cena overcoming the odds.

Show seems kinda like

I think this would be a great time to put the title on Show. He's been better of late than in a long time, so why not give him a run when he's hot?

Big Show won't win, but he's who I'd like to see win the match. Show is someone that I believe could draw, if the WWE really pushed him as a top guy. It seems they've never really given him that main focus attention, and have always kept him as a main eventer just outside the main event. They've been pushing him too hard as a gimmick for the match, I believe. He's been playing backdoor shenanigans with Vickie Guerrero to really be a credible star coming out of this match, I feel.

Basically, it all seems set-up for Cena to take the win. My guess is that Orton wins the WWE Title, Cena wins the World Heavyweight Title, and then the draft sees Cena drafted over to SmackDown! with the World Heavyweight Title.

I'd love o see Show win the title, but if Cena winning it means he gets the boot to Smackdown, I'm all for it.

Seeing how Edge got into the EC at NWO...you don't think JBL could pull somthing like that for the MITB, then win MITB, retain his IC title, and win the WWE or WHC by cashing in the same night?

Mr. Nerfect

I hope not. Isn't JBL meant to be retiring, anyway? His stuff with Rey is fine, no need to put him in the main event.
