I dunno, I guess I am trying it out. I have just the disc of Gears 2 (1000 pts) which would get me like $35 or so on eBay after fees, but if I am reading this right, I would get enough credit to buy a used copy of SF4 (1000 pts) with. I already have a buyer for my game, so now I just have to wait until it's my turn to get SF4. And I guess I got a free trade credit for signing up, so basically I am coming out on top of this whole thing.

What is the gamefly scam?

PapaGeorgio

Also explain more on concept of Goozex, seems interesting.

shameless referral link

PapaGeorgio

Who pays for shipping? I know there is the 1 dollar fee, but do they send a package to you to ship in or what?

PapaGeorgio
04-04-2009, 03:08 PM
Also gamefly scam and what you get for referral system as I'll sign up under you since you got me free shit before but curious when give to others.

G
04-04-2009, 03:39 PM
We pay for shipping. I know from eBaying games that it costs $1.85 to ship a complete game, but in my case since I am only shipping the disc, they have a do it yourself envelope type thing that you can print and mail the disc in. That should only cost a stamp. They also have a paid label you can buy and print for USPS first class for complete games.

G
04-04-2009, 03:40 PM
Basically I only get 1 trade credit ($1) when a referral does their first trade.

PapaGeorgio
04-04-2009, 03:48 PM
Signed up and listed all my GameCube and Wii games, since I sold my Wii. Got 8000 in points lined up when they sell. Seems like decent wait for newer games though.

PapaGeorgio
04-04-2009, 05:39 PM
Already sold two of my games on here, got em packaged and ready to ship. So we'll see how this works out I guess.

G
04-04-2009, 05:40 PM
Some guy told me that sometimes those long waiting lines drop pretty fast because most people either do not have enough points or no available trade spot open when it's their turn.

G
04-04-2009, 05:41 PM
Already sold two of my games on here, got em packaged and ready to ship. So we'll see how this works out I guess.

Yeah, it didn't take long at all before my game got sold either. I guess this is a huge online thing that I never knew about. Cool.

PapaGeorgio
04-04-2009, 07:31 PM
Yeah, a lot of mine are older shitty games nobody would want, so don't expect those to move to fast. But got like 1100 points lined up so will be able to get whatever I want. Like this as its easy to list as opposed to ebay.

G
04-04-2009, 07:45 PM
And there are zero fees. I haven't exactly figured out the point system yet, like I think 1000 pts equals $54.99, since that's what SF4 and Gears 2 cost used at GS. I bought Mirror's Edge the other day for $34.99 used, and it has a value of 1000 points, so it's like making $20 if you sell a copy.

PapaGeorgio
04-04-2009, 09:26 PM
I think points are like 100 = $5 If you look at how you can buy points that is what they come out to.

RoXer

I see you got some feedback already. And a 50 point tip???

PapaGeorgio
04-09-2009, 01:13 AM
Yeah, was unexpected. Dunno just shipped it through the site. Paid extra buck or two than going to post office, but was easier for me. Got a few requests for games to ship today too. So doing pretty well with this site thus far.

RoXer
04-09-2009, 01:20 AM
I had a request for a game but cancelled because I couldn't find one of the discs but I'm 80% sure where it is

G
04-12-2009, 11:59 AM
I knew this would come back and bite me in the ass. I sent the disc in a small envelope with just a stamp...no tracking. It's been a week and he said he still hasn't received it. Other things that I mailed out that day arrived Wednesday and Thursday. :(

Karma, I guess.

PapaGeorgio
04-12-2009, 01:08 PM
Doesn't goozex protect you from that kind of thing, or is it only if you get tracking service.

G
04-20-2009, 11:47 PM
Still haven't heard anything. I shipped it on the 5th, and I think I read on the website that if the buyer doesn't leave feedback or anything within 21 days, then the seller is automatically awarded the points. So, hopefully I do not hear anything bad from him in the next 6 days. All this bullshit just to save $1 for delivery confirmation.

Traders: the package bounced back to our offices for two errors. The first is that the buyer did not provide sufficient postage. The second is that the USPS had an issue with the seller's address and stated "Attempted Not Known" Seller: Please double check your address Buyer: Please make sure to have accurate postage for future games sent. We are reversing the feedback and refunding the buyer.

I'm still waiting for any game to get sent to me before I send more out.

G
05-20-2009, 02:06 AM
So I guess I am having Fallout 3 sent to me. I didn't even know what was going on. I received an email saying some guy said he's gonna ship it to me within 3 days. Wasn't really expecting that. Dunno if I should cancel the trade, if I can, because I am not exactly "thrilled" right now. I could just flip it on there I guess, and get my points back. :-\

PapaGeorgio
05-23-2009, 01:12 AM
I'm getting Fallout 3 shipped to me right now as well. First game actually being sent to me.

Got the game yesterday. Played about 3 hours so far. Not very impressed. Seems like there is a lot to learn and it gets too complicated/feels overwelming. I have been feeling very dumb lately. Maybe I should stick to Mario Kart. :-\

Hopefully this will be one of the games that get a point increase, so I can make something off of flipping it.

PapaGeorgio
05-24-2009, 11:18 PM
Yo G why the fuck you keep signing on and off xbox live. Trying to watch a movie and you ruining the fucking flow

G
05-25-2009, 12:00 AM
I dunno, I popped in an original Xbox game, and it kept doing that. Anyways, played 4 hours of Fallout, and couldn't do anymore. Put it back up for sale, and it was already picked up. :D

PapaGeorgio
05-25-2009, 12:07 AM
Nice, I put some more games up now too. Wanted to wait to see how long it took for me to get games, see if I liked the process before I fully committed. I'm also not overly excited for Fallout 3 but figure I can give it a try and see.

G
06-05-2009, 05:02 PM
Everything is going swimmingly so far. Really wish I would've joined this site sooner. Roxer needs to mail out a game, because I am out of trade tokens. :(

I'd buy one, but they come in packs of 5. That's $5 I don't have right now. So, when my turn for SF4 comes up, I would have missed it due to lack of tokens. :(

PapaGeorgio
06-05-2009, 07:43 PM
Yeah I had to buy pack of 5 tokens already. I agree, liking this site. Just wish games would come instantly when you request them, but understand supply/demand thing. If you can wait it out til your turn this is good site. If you want instant satisfaction stick with other methods.

G
08-13-2009, 10:18 PM
The one thing I felt it was missing, has been added today with a Firefox add-on. You can now see how many offers there are of a game you might request. Works great :D

No, Canada too. You can either set your trading region to Canada only, or open it up to include the US. Also, there is Goozex.eu for those other people.

Funky Fly

So you trade your shit in and get credit you can put towards other titles, yeah? How are the trade values vs the "new" game prices?

G
06-20-2010, 11:01 AM
So you trade your shit in and get credit you can put towards other titles, yeah? How are the trade values vs the "new" game prices?

You list the games you want to offer, then when someone requests it you mail it out to them, receiving points for it.

Newer games are worth 1000 points, which equates to $50. You can then spend those 1000 points on another newer title, or lots of older ones. Games and movies range from 100 to 1000 points.

The old school games are pretty ridiculously priced. As long as people want a game, you could buy an NES game off ebay for like $3 with posting and make what's essentially a $2 profit.

Probably won't do that but it's actually worth a shot if someone actually buys it, and definitely worth a shot if someone wants something you have (making basically a $4 profit on, say, Super Mario Bros for NES, which no one would actually buy but you get my point).

Things are going pretty well. I've gotten quite a few games over the past month. Sent out about six or seven. No problems except my Arkham Asylum disk was scratched and affected a few cutscenes with stuttering. Gave feedback before I realized it affected the game (it played well otherwise which is why I didn't think the scratch affected it). But I Disk Dr'd it and it's fine now.

lol and my username is phanto.

Whenever you receive a 360 game, install it to test it out. Haven't heard of any problems with a game that installs 100%.
