It's VERY SCARY When You Think About It

So while I was watching the MOTY last night, I saw two spots that scared the shit out of me. And because I was drunk, I don't know if these are in chronological order

SPOT 1: Michaels climbs to the top turnbuckl and corkscrews off aiming for UT. Taker sidesteps, and HBK careens to the floor in a loud thud.

SPOT 2 Taker does his top rope dive, with a tad too much rotation, and he damn near lands face first on the floor.


Now, hey, two 'missed' spots in a great match is miniscule. The scary part is that I became LEGIT worried for both of these men's health. These guys can't do this much longer and that is certain. I think that adds to the greatness of what we witnessed last night. Did you cringe uncomfortably at those moments? What were your thoughts?

The Taker one was scary, if he didn't tuck his head, he could have done some serious damage. HBK missing the press, no. It was planned and did what it was supposed to (namely make the crowd go 'ohhhh')

I was making jokes about Michaels when that happened. Making fun of how he landed with a thud. Then I saw the replay which made it look way painful.

The Taker one flat out scared me. I thought he landed on his neck

Yeah, even though michaels was planned. It fucking scared the shit out of me. Like I was wondering if he'd be able to finish the match. Taker's spot was horrifying!

takers was very scary i thort he may of broken his neck. but in seeing that it made me get into the match even more then i already was.

The way he was selling I honestly thought Michaels broke his wrist for a bit. Then they did the replay and I was a bit more relieved. Glad I can still buy stuff like that.

As for the Taker spot, yeah, that was some scary shit. I was thinking he at least got a stinger. After the replays (and rewinding about ten times) I realized he landed as safely as you can in that situation. There was a look on his face after he landed as if he was thinking "that was CLOSE"...

I did like how JR made reference to the "audible crack" (it was just the 'camera man' landing on and breaking his camera). If they had done the opposite side of the ring angle for the actual spot I would have thought Taker broke something.

I was at a Wrestlemania party last night, and the entire room got quiet after both bumps, but more so for Taker's.

I mean there is no right way you can take that kind of a fall, it was one of the most insane things I have seen in a long time.

Shelton's senton off the ladder scared me as much or more than both of those.

Oh, that spot was quite Hardy-esque. Def a holy shit moment, but shelton is in his 20's. We expect that kind of bat shit crazy stuff outta him. Taker is in his mid to late 40's! He's rolling with the Cialis crowd! You don't want to see him take those sick ass bumps...

It was an okay spot. I'm sort of numb to the "giant ladder dive" though since I've seen it way too many times.

Don't get me wrong, I respect him for taking the risk, but it's like "okay, this happens at least once a year........ Holy shit..... Next spot please"

I think the Jeff/Matt Ladder spot was pretty fuckin scary tbh. Matt BARELY got out of the way as Jeff fell. He was fractions of a second away from getting his chest caved in.

Oh, this isn't about awesome, because both spots were. I was talking about how it looked like Taker and Michaels looked too old to be doing that shit. I was adding Benjamin's age because I see him as a thoroghbred. He did under rotate, and it felt like people were trying to get out of his way.


Very Scary Shit.


And the Hardy bump looked great. I think that the last minute roll out was very 'death defying'. He could have moved just as Jeff jumped, but Matt hung in there until the last second. Pretty Ballsy to me. Made me mark. I also thought that Jeff would be needing a chiropractor after the match.

I'm pretty sure Shelton Benjamin is 33 turning 34. He's in tremendous shape, but he's only ten years younger than Shawn Michaels. Almost to the date (Shelton was an earlier July birth).

Shelton's spot was fucking mad, by the way. Just the way it sort of topped the suicide dives and stuff going on was awesome. Benjamin was like "Oh yeah, well can you do this insane shit? *under rotates*".

In talking of sick spots at WM 25 you gotta mention the fuck up with Shelton trying to sunset flip MVP over the ladder onto the outside floor. Of course he fucked it up but how about his fixing it by just bulling MVP over the top rope to the outside with a powerbomb. Man I marked out, Shelton is the shit. He needs to fucking win a MITB for christ sakes.

I loved that spot, but my heart jumped thinking MVP could smash his head/neck on the base of the wall while he wa smid air. Very sick spot.
