Whattt
I just found the final is gonna be at the Fleetcenter pretty soon and I haven't heard shit about it.
Is college hockey like college baseball or something? Where most of the really good players really dont play college and just go the minors?
I remember back when round 1 games of the NCAA Basketball tourament where at the Fleet and everyone made a huge deal about that

That's just cause those are basically southern canadian provinces :shifty:
also Boston College has a pretty good hockey program. I thought about going there before I settled on Minnesota.. Yale and Harvard both have great hockey programs too...

The Frozen Four was in the Xcel a few years ago. I think Minnesota won.
The Gophers men are actually kind of big in Minnesota, they have a great arena and good TV slots. The cool thing about this team is that most of the guys came from Minnesota. Anyway, quite a few guys from the Gophers have gone into the NHL for the past two years.
I think that college hockey is probably a little bigger than baseball, in Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, Mass, etc at least. When the Gophers won the national championship two years ago (One of the best hockey games I have ever seen) it was called the biggest sports event in Minnesota since the Twins won the World Series in 91.
But when the Frozen Four was here, I don't think it was a huge deal either, so in Boston I wouldn't expect much.

On a Sports Show I watch (coincidently called the Sports Show), a pretty legit lady last night was talking about why the Gophers women basketball making the Elite 8 was a bigger deal than the women hockey winning the national title. She said that it is because basketball is the national sport, and hockey is just regional, so because basketball includes so many more people, people are attracted to it more.
