View Full Version : If the Lesnar/Big Show superplex ended a PPV...

Would you have still been happy?
Y'know when PPV title matches end in DQ's or draws etc and we feel cheated, how would you feel if that ended the PPV?
Bear in mind, any PPV but Wrestlemania, coz that'd be lame. But if that ended Backlash, or even Summerslam, would you feel cheated of a decisive result? Or would it still have had that "holy shit" feel?
Random thought I had when I was walking to the gym this morning. :shifty:
I think I'd have that initial "holy shit" feeling but then over-analyze it.
In the end, it would be an awesome way to end a non-big four PPV.
On a slightly different note, I want to see the cage or possibly the cell collapse one day, into the ring.

They definitely could have used that for a minor ppv ending, especialy considering the big show lesnar fued was a few months long anyway.

I would have liked to see one of them drape their arm over the other one for the three count at the end. At least with a dq there is a winner.

That kind of ending is great for capping Raw or SD, but I want a real resolution generally when I watch a PPV.

Yeah, it'd be sort of passable, just for the sheer awesomeness, but then you'd be expected to buy into the next PPV, or you'd want a resolution on RAW/SmackDown!, and you'd be like "Fuck, I just spent money on that!"
I've always had the thought of how I'd feel two guys battled way past the allowed time for a PPV (say there is twenty minutes left, and they wrestle a forty minute match). There would be a decision later that night, revealed on WWE.com, and you'd get the full match on the DVD.
It wouldn't be a wise thing, I don't think, but it's always something that's fascinated me.

That's wrestling. There's always going to be something left to be desired, or a need for resolution. It's part of the ride.

In all fairness the Punjabi Prison always looks like it's going to collapse at any time anyway.

Yes, but this is the difference between a "to be continued" moment after the ending and a "To be continued" moment that is the ending. Wanting more loses its value to people if they feel they aren't getting sufficient resolution in the meanwhile. That's why feuds end, new ones start, storylines evolve. There does need to be a payoff. Doesn't mean adding another layer is automatically bad, but there's certainly an element beyond "there's always going to be something left to be desire."

Yes but I wouldn't assume the broken ring would be the end of whatever fued it was used in

Hence why I put it in the latter category and then elaborated.

I wouldn't mind it if they did it the way that ECW did the ending of the Taz vs Bam Bam Bigelow match at Living Dangerously:
Have the ring collapse, everyone stands there shocked, the ref has no clue what to do, then one man drapes his arm over the other and the ref makes the 3 count.

Tag Team match.
Mark Henry and Big Show vs. Kane and Taker. Wargames, 2 rings, epic ring fail.
Best conclusion to a PPV I think I will ever see.
If they did it at a PPV, I'd rather it be an F5 off the ropes as the finish.

Mark Henry in a main event doth not a best PPV make.
